Just noticed the new timeslot for the Shootout/Clash this year. Wasn't this always held Saturday night and televised on the main network channel? Is this a sign of NASCAR continuing to slip? Yeah it was I don’t know why the hell they changed It

Not really. "The Clash" was run on Sunday for many (many) years before moving to night in '02 or '03 and was on FS1 last year.

Yeah it was I don’t know why the hell they changed It After thinking about it, NASCAR has focused the last couple years on making tickets a better value by condensing race weekends. So they may believe more people will attend if they get Daytona qualifying then the Clash. Still doesn't explain why they wouldn't air a competitive race on FOX when they seem fit to air single-car runs just prior. Just noticed the new timeslot for the Shootout/Clash this year. NASCAR must've changed the day to suit their new TV deals around the millennium.

My girl got pole for the ARCA race. No doubt that phat booty helped get that car lower to the ground & made it faster.

Only 40 cars showing up for Daytona, so everyone makes the race. It means no fighting for the bubble spots during the twins which I guess had already diminished through the years with the charter? System.
I remember you would have 60+ cars at Daytona and fighting for a spot in the twins.

Wonder if NASCAR would consider dropping the field to 35 I'm guessing a lot of races this year are only gonna have 34-37 car fields anyway. In a perfect world, Trucks would have 32, Busch Series 34, Cup Series 36.

The power of a beautiful woman? Realize this is the only time SodaGuy and I will ever pull for the same driver in a race. If you've spent any time in a NASCAR thread, you should know this never happens.

Sometimes I wish they would take Daytona and Talladega off the schedule. These races have become boring and nothing but a demolition derby. Literally anyone can win those races. What? I love Super speedways! Actually going into a Sunday not knowing who's gonna win is exciting. I realize it sucks for points and the "big picture" but Ill take Daytona/Talladega over Las Vegas, Michigan, Kansas, Chicago or Fontana any day of the week.

It's the Clash, so I wasn't that pumped for Brad to win. Now if he wins Daytona, I'll celebrate by throwing my Carl Edwards shirt in a fence somewhere in Alabama.
