I was at RAW on Monday night. During Bryan's promo the fans were going crazy. Any time Triple H or Stephanie would speak, they'd be 100% drowned out with boos or chants for Punk. I was getting annoyed with all of this when I realized what was happening. The fans are crazy for Punk and they love Bryan. Bryan says his part and the crowd loses it. Triple H talks and they shout over him with Punk chants.
Daniel would come in with his counterpoint and every one stops booing or chanting for Punk and there's thunderous applause.
So what's happening is "Hey, we like this guy! BOOOO, WE HATE THAT GUY! CM PUNK! CM PUNK!" *Bryan chimes in* "YEEEEAAAA BRYAN! WE LIKE HIM!"
In a way, he's being used as a distraction. He's a device to make us forget about the other thing we want, and he appeases us for long enough that they can get through what they want to do without the whole segment being one long Punk chant.
I can't seem to string a sentence together. I hope this is legible.

It is legible. I don't really know what to think. I feel that the fact that they were in Chicago helped the chants.

The WWE used Heyman, Punk, and even Cena as well as throwing the fans a few bones with a Usos title win and the Shield/Wyatt rematch in the first hour to derail the attempted hijacking . The fans were successfully manipulated all night long and Bryan was definitely a part of it.

Makes me wonder why CM Punk and Bryan aren't in the main event at Mania.
God I hate the WWE. But, apparently not as much as they hate their fans......

Bryan is the babyface people love and hhh is the heel people hate. Every wrestler is a device to invoke emotion from people. WWE hates their fans so much that they fired Punk, no wait, he left.

The Daniel Bryan/Authority segment was so good this past Monday. The heat Triple H & Stephanie McMahon received reminded me of the heat Vince McMahon used to get during the Attitude Era. I'd say this is one of the best RAW segments this year.

Is Bryan not on every week? Is Bryan not advertised? Is Bryan's merchandise not sold at live events and on WWE.com? Did Punk not hold the title for over a year? Did we not get Punk-Taker at Mania last year? That is such a bullcrap statement to say that WWE hates its fans. They can't please all of us at the same time. Bryan will eventually hold the World Title. It will happen, its called a build. We have Lesnar back, Hogan back, Heyman employed still, an awesome NXT PPV with great indy style spot fest matches.... Cesaro is being pushed, Uso's are champs, young talent are being used alot.... I'd say the WWE is listening, and pleasing.

Orton got a huge response here in Jacksonville,Fl last Saturday for a house show. I'm a huge Batista fan. He is a shell of his former self that gets gased 5 minutes into a match, but its still cool to see him back, i' much rather see Lesnar in his spot, but it is what it is!

Topic is very clear. I'm not saying this is Chicago oriented, it's happening every week. Bryan is an appeasement in a way. It'd be fine if it was story oriented and Bryan was a device to further a story, I feel like he's a device to distract from an issue.

Distraction from what?
Fans want Bryan to be a huge part of the show he is a huge part of the show.
Fans want him in main events, he's in main events.
I understand some wrestling fans aren't happY unless they get 100% exactly what they want but damn things have turned around since the Rumble.

Obviously they have some fans, on Batistas half mostly nostalgia maniacs, but still. Daniel Bryans fan base is pretty much double or triple, and I'm willing to bet quite a bit of Batista and Orton fans would rather see Bryan as champion.

I know everyone gets tired of the same old crap. The champions have been very repetative. Orton-Cena-Punk-Rock-Cena-Orton-Cena-Sheamus-Cena-Orton-Del Rio-Cena-Orton-Del Rio-Sheamus-Punk... I'm all for change. At the same time, the current product isn't upsetting. Seeing the New Age Outlaws back was awesome. The Uso's becoming Tag Champs is great. Big E and Cesaro getting pushed... All makes the Cena-Orton-Batista spot hogging ok to me. Bryan is over. Way over. Like Austin over! I like WWE taking their time. Alot of guys that get a following tend to be forgot months later ( Ryder and Ziggler).. WWE has done a good job feeling it out with the crowd. Its obvious WWe see's a future in Bryan, with the reaction he has had since August 2013, he will have a long and bright future in WWE!

And think about it. This is WrestleMania 30. That's the big one. That's where they should solidify Bryan and finally give him a run.

You're absolutely right.
WWE is killing two birds with one stone. They are distracting from CM Punk (attempting to anyway) while playing to Daniel Bryan for the crowd. Although WWE's main goals seem fixed, the transitional periods to get to them seem reactionary. As long as people keep roaring for Bryan as they are, WWE will absolutely use it for their advantage. And when that fades, possibly after his title win, they'll get right back to their main plans. I don't know what those are but I imagine they involve Cena, as there is yet to be a concrete successor as the face of WWE. Once they figure that out, I expect Cena to feud with him and gradually be defeated and hand the torch over. Of course, that is a few years in the making. What happens between now and then is once again... Reactionary.

Other way around. WWE used the Chicago "hijacking" gimmick to make the "rebellious" crowd do exactly what they wanted them to do -- cheer the up-and-coming babyface and boo the heels that are bullying him. It was kind of a masterstroke. Using Punk's "downward spiral" to segueway to building the Undertaker/Lesnar feud was genius, too.

WWE would be dumb not to. Bryan is the hottest thing going right now. If he can't distract a Chicago crowd that is lacking Punk than no one else can.

It's always good to be optimistic, but the cons outweigh the pros for me. And it's nothing new for them. The WWE has been doing what they want, regardless of the fans, for awhile now. As far as D-Bry goes, I'm content at this point with the direction he is going. Not happy, but content. You mentioned Punk, but where is he? Obviously he isn't very happy with the way things are going either.
