I'm going to try & keep my response as clean as possible: I'm going to watch the holy ing crap out of this movie! I challenge anyone on this planet to be more excited about this movie than me.

Bumping this super old thread because I don't see a new thread on it, and I figure we can just add to this one.
I just recently became obsessed with Sin City, and this second movie definitely didn't let me down. It was pretty sloppy with continuity, but I loved it regardless. My girl crush on Alba is borderline concerning atm.

I haven't had a chance to see it yet but I'm definitely going to go next week, possibly Monday. Huge fan of the books, and the first film, and Brolin. I have no idea why this did so poorly though. Maybe the marketing wasn't there? The first film was a success and seemingly has a bit of a cult following, not sure why it wouldn't have even covered 20 or so million right out of the gate. I know people are still seeing Guardians, and Turtles to a lesser degree, but I was shocked at how poorly it did for the first week. It looks great too imo.

I love the graphic novels and the first movie, but I don't know if those three stories deserved their own movie. The 3D was a stellar distraction (if you see it, make sure you do in 3D, it's really worth it), but it wasn't anything special. JGL did great, Jeremy Piven was a nice addition, and the actors who returned from the first movie were enjoyable again. It bummed me out the had to recast Clive Owen (even though Brolin is a great actor) and Michael Clark Duncan (RIP).

Sucked. The only thing keeping it from "worst movie I've ever seen" territory was Eva Green's awesome rack being out the entire time.

If it has Joseph Gordon-Levitt, I'll watch it. It honestly doesn't matter what it is.
I did enjoy the first.

I will probably watch it, but it's been so long since the first one, which I loved...not sure if the same 'feel' will be there but I'm intrigued...

Just came back from it and it's pretty disappointing.
The whole thing felt like a fan made film to me. The stories were lacking, it didn't have the magic of the original and really feels like a parody of itself at times. I really loved the original and maybe it's because this style is no longer groundbreaking, but the sequel just doesn't match up. I was also excited for JGLs performance as he's always impressive, but the character is pretty dull.
There are some positives; Josh Brolin's story is great, Mickey rourke was the same Marv we know and love from 10 years ago, and Eva Green's performance is bang on and she steals the show. She's also naked quite a lot.
In short, it's a fine way to spend 90 minutes but don't see it in cinemas. I wish I'd watched Guardians again... or The Dreamers.
