I don't have an issue with seeing the same teams in a block of x amount of years. Rivalries aren't built by playing one team once and then fading out of the picture. Yankees/Red Sox was GOLD for a few years. Regular season games were must see TV. It got stale because the rest of the league were catching up(particularly in that division) but the acknowledgement was minimal. All the focus was still on those two clubs even if they weren't the best two teams. History and location can only do so much for a rivalry before it becomes redundant, but when you have that mixed with championship level ball it's a different script all together. I'll take Yankees and Red Sox all day long if they're elite teams but if they're not than I don't care let's move along and see something different please.

I'm excited for the ALCS. NLCS is the same old same old. Maybe I'm just bitter because the Cards and Giants have eliminated Washington in 2012 and 2014. Giants-Cardinals is going to become the NL equivalent of Red Sox-Yankees. The best thing about that series is that one of those teams has got to lose. The worst thing is that the winner will most likely go on to win the World Series. I am happy for both Baltimore and Kansas City, but I think the Orioles has the better chance of beating whoever comes out of the NL. well Giants/Dodgers is the NL Yankees/Sox and the true greatest baseball rivalry. The Cards are a decent back up Rival.

bye bye Kevin Long
normally i really dont "blame" hitting coaches, but almost every other team fires their hitting coach after throwing up a turd for offense. so this isn't a surprise. didn't the royals dump their hitting coach in recent memory? now they are in the ALCS.
i think coaching is overrated, but sometimes it can make a difference.

Yep at least one hitting coach a year for like the past three years has been replaced by the Royals. Heck last year three different guys either were removed from the job or stepped down during the season.

Niche player Danny Worth just left for free agency. He and Don Kelly (GOAT) were the designated position player pitchers. Truly hope Worth gets a consistent job even as a backup infielder.

Royals are starting to freak me out a little. Might have to start rooting for the O's.

Where is the dude I was arguing with about the Royals being good sooner than later?
That might be one of the best predictions of all time

He blasted the Zack Greinke trade when it happened, but if the Royals go on to win the World Series, it just might be the greatest trade of all time

Man, I'm really pulling for the Royals to win it all. I don't want to see more of the same with the Cards or Giants.

I hope the Royals win the World Series. Their games have been awesome and they just play with so much fire and heart. For a Postseason that the Yankees are not in, I have to say that I have really really really enjoyed these games. I'm sure the ratings will blow because people complain when the same teams are always in it but then turn around and don't watch when new teams are in, but this is one of the best Postseasons in recent memory from a baseball standpoint in my opinion.
Clean play, great pitching, awesome defense, timely hitting, no real umpire BS....this is as good as it gets for me for something that does not involve the Yankees.
Oh and I'm a week late but.....THANK GOD ALMIGHTY KEVIN LONG HAS BEEN FIRED. If they hire Tino I hope he chokes Teixeira for being such a vagina.

I've been MIA for most of the summer. I've had so much going on. I was telling Chip in another thread that I bought a new house, I'm getting married on Saturday so I've been planning all of that stuff, and things at work have just been crazy. Any rare free time I've had lately I've just been using to rest like taking a nap. I work in technology, so after staring at computers for 8+ hours a day, the last thing I want to do when I get home is look at the computer screen. A lot of times my eyes are shot by the end of the day. I'm going to try and post more. After the wedding on Saturday I'll have more free time. Literally all of my weekends for the past few months for the most part have been spent planning the wedding. Food tastings, cake tastings, dance lessons, picking out the tableware, the music, flowers/decorations...it's a LOT of work lol.

Really hoping the Giants close it out tonight. I cannot WAIT to hate the Royals. That team is fun to watch, I'll grant them that, but they are sooooo ing brash it's already gotten on my nerves. Maybe all the bs quotes, posing, dancing, etc works for them, but it's getting annoying.

Travis Ishikawa. Yep. The craziest thing about that(and there's a lot of crazy things)is that Travis who earlier in the game made a blunder in left by completely misreading a fly ball which allowed a run to score had been getting subbed all series long for defensive purposes in the late innings. Not tonight. For whatever supernatural reason Bochy left him in the game. That man has some magical voodoo power in the postseason. He sees and senses things that normal men don't. Wild 5 games. Could have and should have went 7. It was that close.
Bring it on Royals!
