I'm pretty sure this thread has been made before, but who do you think is the BEST(Not Favorite) wrestler of all-time? Feel free to name your top five.
Here are mine.
1.)Undertaker/HBK (Too hard to decide) 2.)Triple H(Yes, I think so.) 3.)Chris Jericho(Always great in the ring to me. He is actually my favorite of all-time). 4.)Kurt Angle(Always entertaining to me. Great wrestler.) 5.)Chris Benoit
Honorable mentions: Stone Cold, The Rock, Eddie Guerrero, Randy Savage, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Mick Foley, and Razor Ramon.
I better not hear any crap about Benoit. He is one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time in my opinion. I dont condone what he did to his family but I do respect everything that he did inside the squared-circle.
Feel free to share your list and discuss. Try to keep favoritism out of this.
I will reply on what I think of your list if you ask me too. Just tag me in your list!

I would think HBK would far surpass Taker in terms of wrestling ability.
One should ask: Do you mean top "wrestler" in terms of ability?

In absolutely no order for me.
HBK Angle Benoit Jericho Hart RVD (had to add him as the 6th man, sorry)
Pretty much agree with you OP, except for your mind-boggling HHH pick. After his quad injury in 2001, he was never the same. And all his greatest matches had no dq stipulations/and or he worked with a superior wrestler who made him look better.
For me though, nobody has as many 4 to 5 star matches in the WWE that Angle/HBK do. Pretty much any PPV match these guys were involved in delivered. Also both well known for having some of the greatest free tv matches of all time too. They'd be my 1a and 1b all things considered (ironically, two all time greats in Taker and Sting agree with my sentiments too, ranking both in their top 3).

First you have to define all of Professional Wrestling's objectives. I've tried to do thus several times to no avail. Until you have an irrefutable basis for the objective(s) of a task, you can't define levels of skill.
You can't determine the best of ALL TIME, if you don't recognize the various greats from throughout ALL of TIME.
Based on studying the history of the genre, Lou Thesz is the greatest wrestler among everyone to ever grace the mat until the traditional definition was altered the 60s, when Killer Kawolski, & Mad Dog Vachon were the two best authentic wrestlers, brawlers, & interviews in one complete package. In the 70s, Harley Race & Terry Funk were the best overall performers, possessing the strongest blends of in-ring ability & mic skills.
To summarize the game changes dramatically in the following decades respectively, but the general idea founded in the late 50s/early 60s does not. So what this amounts to is simple. You have to find the common objectives among Professional Wrestlers.
One more thing. Sometimes the best aren't booked as "The BEST."
Just saying.

Bret Hart all the way.
Reminds me of everything I enjoyed about wrestling and why I was a fan of the product.

If we are talking straight up wrestling and not sports entertainers, then my top five would be
1. Kurt Angle 2. Ric Flair 3. Bret Hart 4. Lance Storm 5. Chris Jericho
Honorable mentions: Chris Benoit, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, & Mr. Perfect
If we are talking sports enterainers(wrestling, mic skills, etc...)
1. Steve Austin 2. The Undertaker 3. Shawn Michaels 4. Chris Jericho 5. Ric Flair

Being the best is in the eye of the beholder. So technically it would be Stone Cold, as no one was more popular, besides maybe The Rock. They sold more tickets in a one year period than anyone else could.

Pretty much agree with your ''straight up wrestlers'' list.

I don't need a list nor any honorable mentions. The answer is simple: The Nature Boy Ric Flair. So good for so long and he could have succeeded in any promotion, any era of the past 75 years.
