Its no secret we had a horrible winter this past year, with some extremely low temperatures. I was wondering if it ended up causing you to be sick more often than usual?
I usually get sick once, maybe twice a year. But since Christmas, I feel like I've been in a constant fight. I was sick from Christmas all the way into the middle of January. Then caught a flu bug in February. Then I had a sinus infection about 3 weeks ago. Followed up by getting treated for strep throat on Saturday. I've just been trying to figure out how it could be happening. I didn't have any major change in diet or anything else. I guess with all of this laying around I'm bored & trying to entertain myself.

This winter has been colder than ever in where I live, and somehow, I didn't get the asthma I used to get every winter.

Yeah, in a different kind of way, my body was healthy for most of winter but I was dealing with some extreme irritability and anxiety for a bit. Now that the weather has gotten better, my mental health has also improved.

I got the flu shot before the season and I haven't gotten sick once this whole winter. I'm surprised, too.

I can't say for sure yet. I had to spend most days in January at home. I was hospitalized for pancreatitis on Christmas Day. I was forced to spend time and recover from it. For the past few years, I haven't been getting sick to the degree I was when I was a kid. People tell me to get flu shots but for me, they offer very little additional immunity. As odd as it may seem, I've never had the flu and chicken pox ever in my life.

I haven't been sick in years, never anything more than a cough or a runny nose but nothing major enough that I needed a day off or anything.

I live in California, it's been like spring and summer all last year.

Sick no. It was an EXTREMELY busy winter for me. Just in December and January I made about half what I made last year financially. All that snow was big money for me. Along with all the money though came lots and lots of work. So I wasnt sick but I was exhausted. I can remember a week where I went for about 4 days straight with no sleep. I just kept working.

Not for me. I usually don't get sick and so far I've been good. California winters are certainly nicer than New York winters imo. I have no issues with them although if I lived somewhere cold I probably would get sick more.

No I had a flu bug about two weeks ago but I got it from my girlfriend and she got it from her fam and it just passed it's way. Now I am dealing with the worst allergies though which I hate

I've really lucked out and haven't been sick in a couple years now.
I had a long going trend of always getting sick around Christmas. That hasn't happened in quite some time now.

I've been fairly healthy until this week. I woke up at 4 am on Tuesday pooping and puking my guts out. I was in horrible pain all over too. I'm one of those people who very rarely pukes so when I do you know I'm dying. I was having chills and everything. I honestly thought I was going to have to go to the hospital.
I'm doing better now but still really weak and dizzy when I stand up.

Thanks to the Crohn's Disease and drugs I have to take to keep it in check, my immune system sucks. I got flu and pneumonia shots last fall and didn't have any problems this past winter. I've been getting flu shots every year for the past decade and they really do work. Even if you aren't in the risk groups (young, old, or suffering from a chronic health condition) you should consider asking your doctor for the flu shot.

This winter I only got sick once but it was serious as hell! I had a 106 degree fever, I couldn't even walk. But after that I was perfect for the whole winter, I didn't get runny nose, itchy eyes, and coughs. From usual perspective I got sick the least this year cause I only got sick once

I caught something that just wouldn't go away for about 3 months...I hate doctors but eventually had to go on christmas eve & get some medicine It did nothing & I actually got worse - maybe the sickest I've ever been...coughing so hard it would make my spine feel like needles were stabbing me I don't necessarily know if I caught it because of the weather, but I sure did have a hard time getting rid of whatever I had
