It's super crazy that we're talking about Joss Whedon stepping in to finish a Justice League movie..

Lots to comment on here.
1) That's terrible about Snyder. But I wouldn't get overexcited about Whedon yet. Directors stepping in to finish off movies rarely works out.
2) I wasn't harsh on BvS & positive on anything else because of the Nolanverse because I think it is incredibly overrated. Nolan is also incredibly overrated. I prefer Afflecks Batman already. Nolan made absolutely unforgiveable mistakes with the character.
3) I liked Leto's Joker and for me he was at least a quantifiable effort to do the character. Ledgers Joker is fine and all but Nolans laziness with the character will forever hurt it for me. Jacks Joker is still king....by an effin country MILE in live action. Hamills Joker from MOTP is a damn close 2nd.. Also Gotham didn't do Joker-they aren't allowed(and never will be). so jeromes "lets do Joker on the quiet" doesnt count for me at all.

DC/WB media division will never allow their top 2 Box Office draws to appear on a TV show airing on Fox. Its not within their comprehension. You wont see anybody that they have concrete plans for in the movies on Gotham. They pulled Deadshot from Arrow & Boomerang from Flash because of the Suicide Squad movie. They pulled Deathstroke from Arrow because "there may be plans for him". It is a minor miracle that Superman has appeared on Supergirl. And even at that Superman is not Batman & Joker. Its how they roll. The producers of Smallville, The Batman & Justice League Unlimited all suffered in this respect too.....

I understand I was really just curious It is odd that they let them continue with Flash, with JL and all. But I get what you're saying I enjoy Gotham either way. Can't wait for the next three episodes of S3

But I get what you're saying I still fully expect Barry to be replaced with Wally on the show if the DCCU really takes off. I cant see them tolerating a small screen Flash when they wouldn't even allow Berlanti to use Deadshot. Hope not though!!!

Interestingly, without spoiling anything major, none of those characters seem to be off limits anymore for Arrow/Flash. Also interestingly, all of this has happened after Geoff Johns took over full control. TBH, I wouldn't be shocked if Bruce appears as Batman in Gotham. They're already up to a very important part of his backstory this season.

Johns is also directly responsible for Superman appearing on Supergirl I believe. Cant ever see Bruce being Batman on Gotham tho.......

I don't think we will get Batman as a long lasting character, more like a easter egg at the end.

Wonder Woman just doesn't appeal to me that much, like, the setting. London a hundred years back? No thank you. It's depressing as it is right now. I'll get it when it's released on Blu Ray. I have been to the movies 2 times in the past 10 years or so. Star Wars episode 3 and 7. Both have left me going "Meh. I could have waited for this to come out on dvd." So it'll take a lot for me to go to the movies, not even The Dark Knight could get me going, though I regret that a wee bit.

The cynic in me wonders how much of that is people really wanting it to be good because it's a female empowerment movie though to be totally honest. I was reading a review this morning and the reviewer was just gushing about how ground breaking this movie was, and the whole time I was reading it I kept thinking: "It sounds like they just copied the first Cap movie".

How in the was Nolan lazy with Joker's characterization? He and Ledger crafted one of the best villains in cinema history that transcended that of a same ol run of the mill comicbook villain.

Maybe not the real Batsuit, but something along the lines of Daredevil in S1, where he's Batman but not Batman. Now that we've gotten a full-on live action Superman on TV, I don't think anything can be ruled out.

I cant say Im surprised by the positive reviews from Wonder Woman. Its like I previously said, we have nothing to compare it to unlike a new Batman and a New Joker. People are subconsciously going into it with an open mind. Bale nor Affleck is a bad Batman but Bale came along at the right time and made the Batman such a huge iconic character in the movie industry (after the abortion of Clooney) that Affleck needs more then just sporadic appearances to set the foundation as the new Batman. The same can be said with The Joker although I truly believe they swung and missed with Leto. I think he *could* be a great Joker but they're approach is just way off.

Or is it just you were expecting it to be awful rubbish and are shocked user ratings are good? Shocked it got a 97%.. Which is the highest rating a superhero movie has ever received.. Higher than Guardians of the Galaxy. HIGHER THAN THE DARK KNIGHT! Are you trying to tell me that Wonder Woman is a better movie than The Dark Knight, The Avengers, and Spider-Man 2?? I'm all for it being a good movie, that's awesome.. But at 97%, they're telling me that Wonder Woman is a freaking Oscar contender.

Eh, it'll inevitably drop. Didn't GOTG2 initially have like a 100% rating?
Not to say it couldn't just be that good, but I think it's just the initial hype. We'll see.

Let's just keep in mind that Rotten Tomatoes uses a binary positive/negative rating scale. So 97% of critics are saying it's at least above average. It doesn't mean its average rating on a scale of 1-100 is 97.
I'm optimistic that it's going to be good but I have a hard time believing it is going to be better than Batman Begins or The Dark Knight. It's probably closer to the Phase One Marvel movies, and for the DCEU that's a tremendous step in the right direction.

JokerFC has a long known dislike for Ledger's Joker. And then over the years a lot of people have become anti Nolans take based on how much the majority loved them. You know, words like "overrated" and "fanboys" thrown around a lot. Personally I loved the Nolan trilogy. And I think Dark Knight is great crime noir. Also Harvey Dent was the real star in my opinion, but that's neither here nor there. But at the same time I like different takes. When new artists and writers take over with new stories, they have different takes. While I enjoyed Ledger miles over anyone else, I still liked Nicholson and Leto for what they were. Nolan was able to make a Batman movie taken seriously and considered one of the best films of all time by most. So personally, I wouldn't say lazy.
