Didn't Ziggler lose to Batista in his first match as Dolph Ziggler? I know he was around beforehand but WWE doesn't really acknowledge that.

the question should be why would someone lose on their debut? Because it's not as predictable and you can still look strong in a loss. Look at Daniel Bryan in his first NXT match. Lost to the World Champion at the time, Chris Jericho. Looked good doing it though.

Didn't edge lose his 1st match against Owen? Edge won his debut, and accidentally broke the guy's neck in the process. The match you're thinking about was at Breakdown: IYH when Christian made his debut and cost Edge the match. I was going to say Sami Zayn lost his debut match against Cesaro on NXT, but I remember now he beat Hawkins just a couple of moments before that match. Plus, I can't even remember whether or not he actually lost that match against Cesaro now.

If someone debuts against a top guy, a close loss can work wonders to establish them.

Didn't Sandow lose all his matches by forfeit at first because he refused to compete? Big E lost his debut match at WrestleMania 29 also, which must be the most recent. Big e wrestled on main event before that.

I feel like Bo Dallas would have been the perfect guy to do this with. (Firstly it might be because I see him as a giant waste of everyones air time) but also because he could play the cocky heel which after he loses is still positive and the he bolieves in himself and he doesnt need to win blah blah blah. Even when I try I can't get invested in Bo lol.

Isn't it Kofi Kingston jr? Elix Skipper II Or...The "New" Elix Skipper. I even saw someone on here who believed it was JTG under a new gimmick.... I kid you not.

I don't know. But let's all take a minute and remember how badass Carlito's debuts on both Smackdown! and Raw were.

Carlito should be a multi time world champ and still going strong in WWE right now Eh, I don't know if he ever had the right attitude for it. He came along in an era where it seemed like creativity was discouraged, and it chewed up and spit out quite a few guys. Carlito was definitely one of them. I think, if built correctly, he could've been in the world title picture though. The creative team just broke him, and he didn't give a crap anymore.

Based on his abilities in ring and on the mic he should be a multi time WWE world champ. His attitude was similar to Punks IMO. In that he was never happy with his spot on the card and felt he deserved better. But see Carlito was justified as he was pretty much buried for a while there. Whereas punk was a top guy.
