Ive met him several times and once he was ok, the rest of the times not so much. One time I met him he charged me $20 to sign that same mattel fig, while everything else was $10. The last time I met him he tried that t-shirt crap with me. He kept pushing it and I told him my money was low and that I wasnt interested. Finally I said "Look man, Im not interested. How about giving me my change?" By the way... he was right beside DDP when that exchange happened. That was also the time I handed him my hasbro to sign and while I was trying to hand him my paint pen he signed it in black sharpie and gave me an "oh sorry" look. With that said... there was a lady with 2 kids in front of me at that same event and he was wonderful with them so what are ya gonna do?

I have to be the one and say Vader, wasn't particularly nice when I met him either. Kind of surprised me since all the stories I've heard about Jim Cornette saying how nice he is and how you could hurt his feelings easily. BS!

Not to bring it up until you leave lol Jake is a dick, and I think had you put him in his place it would have been pretty epic. Sorry you had a crappy time.

I always love reading your stories and seeing the pics of what you got signed.
I wish Jake had not been rude to your wife. That's uncalled for. But thanks for sharing this with us. We know what behavior to expect from Jake in the future.

I'm sorry to hear that he was rude to you and your wife. I've never met him but I've met a lot of wrestlers and I've only had one not so great experience, so I guess I've been lucky.

I ring announce for a local federation in my hometown, and we had Jake in at our last show.
--Dude was straight up disinterested in interacting with any of the "boys". Some of the guys who were working the match with him, which was a 6 man tag, tried to go up to him to talk out the match a little, and he completely ignored them.
--He passed out. Straight up passed out right in the middle of the lobby during the show/intermission. A fan had to come up to me and tell me that Jake was passed out in the lobby of the ballroom we run in...how embarassing.
--He crapped himself. Yep, on the way to the ring, Jake The Snake sh** himself. Worked the entire match with an a$$ full of crap.
--After the match, the snake he used crapped all over the ring and all over Jake's hand. He dropped it, and it almost got away. Then, after the match, the 2 guys who worked as his partners asked to pose for a picture with him. He took the hand covered in snake crap and rubbed it all over the dude's face during the picture.
After the show, I placed a status on my facebook simply saying "Sometimes, it's better to admire your heroes from afar". Jake totally ruined everything I ever thought about him. Anytime I've ever worked with a former WWE worker, they always seem really disinterested in dealing with anyone at the shows that isn't giving them money. It's truly a shame.
*Sidenote: Sheamus is, without question, the nicest wrestler I have ever met. I was so impressed with him the time I met him, that I'll never not be a fan of his. Such a great guy.

That's not cool. I've only went to one show, and didn't meet anyone but I did meet Brain Knobbs at a SummerSlam party and he was charging $10 for a signed picture. I got one and he was very nice. And I hear Punk was a butthole to his fans sometimes as well. I never heard anything bad from Jake. I'm sorry that he did that to your wife and your friends. There is no excuse for being unprofessional. Punk was nice usually from what I've heard, other than: "YOU HAVE A VAGINA!"

If you don't mind saying, why was htm bad? I've wanted to meet him. But I understand if you don't want to say I don't mind sharing. At the time I don't think he was on very good terms with WWE, so he was our right refusing to sign any memorabilia that had anyone brought. This was before his Mattel figure, so I witnessed him deny someone an autograph for a Jakks figure, a WWE Encyclopedia and some other various items. It annoyed me to the point where I got out of his line and passed on the chance to meet him. Who knows, maybe he was having a bad day...but still, people had paid an additional 15 dollars for the early meet and greet and the nerve of some of these guys to act like it's an annoyance to meet fans and sign their name really bugs me. Wow! That's really rude. What a damn shame

That's a big reason why I don't go out of my way to meet any wrestlers. Always afraid it'll change my opinion on them.
I've seen a bunch but only went out of my way to meet Piper & Striker. Piper was very friendly and told me I looked good. He's right, I've very good looking. And when I meet Striker we actually talked for 10 minutes or so about all kind of things. Very awesome experience.

Sorry to hear about your experience.
I've only met a few wrestlers, but they have ALL been pretty positive experiences, including with few guys who have a rep for not being fan-friendly. I've met Honky Tonk Man (who told me I need to quit opening my figures), Bushwhacker Luke, Rikishi, Greg "the Hammer" Valentine, Barbarian, CM Punk and, most recently, Bob Backlund.
The closest thing to a "bad" experience was Barbarian, who kept asking my if he had signed my WWE Encyclopedia yet (like 4 times), and he hadn't because I wanted to spend my auto money on Kish and The Hammer.
CM Punk, for all the negative buzz he gets, was super cool and actually thanked me for driving 3 hours to be where he was signing.
I met Mr. Backlund at a recent live show. My wife and I took our boys to the souvenir stand before the show, and I had just commented that I was shocked they had no signed photos for sale when I look to my left and there at a folding table against the wall was BOB BACKLUND! He was unadvertised, so that was a great surprise. He was very cordial to me and even talked to my 8 year old son about school and Abe Lincoln for like ten minutes. My wife thought it was pretty funny how I marked out and kept going back down to talk to him and get more signed pics. That one was easily my favorite wrestler meeting.

Met Jake back in January and left not the happiest with my encounter. I was last in a pretty long line, only because I was busy talking to Steve Corino (who is easily one of the nicest guys in the business), and I'm guessing by the time I rolled around Jake just wanted to be done. He would joke around with people and kept asking everyone who was taking a picture with him if they were trying to grab his ass, everyone. It got old. He didn't really talk to anyone besides that and to try to get them to buy one of his tacky looking shirts. Since I was last I tried to have a small conversation with him since I wouldn't hold up the line and he really didn't want anything to do with me.

Never meet your hereos..... Unfortunately the best advice I've ever heard. I've had friends who've met my hero and as envious as I was that they got to meet and hang out with him.. they came away with ultimately bad experiences. Not Jake, mind you. But I agree with this wholeheartedly.
