Andrew Bogut broke his leg after playing one minute as a Cleveland Cavalier and is out for the rest of the season I'm going to blame this on the curse of the 76ers. Technically, Bogut was a 76er to qualify. There wasn't enough time to get injured as a 76er though so it had to happen in his first minute as a Cav.

Tracy McGrady is going in to the Basketball Hall of Fame. Does anybody think he is deserving? He had some monster seasons back in the 2000s, but completely fell off a cliff after 2008.

That's what happens when the defending champions and pre-season consensus pick to win the East turns into a .500 team that can't play defense. I'm pulling for the Celtics out of the East but I don't see them beating any team that comes out of the West.

What a comeback by the Hawks!!!!! Meh, the Hawks had nothing to do with it. Just ask LeBron and Kyrie. It was the refs fault they blew a 26 point lead and lost in overtime. Worth noting, ESPN gave this stat: the last time a team blew a 26 point fourth quarter lead was in 2002. It has happened 840 times in the past 15 years and the team with the lead won them all.

Not that it really matters in the long run, but the Celtics can take the top seed in the east with a win against Milwaukee. I'd like to see it so they can go as far as possible but ultimately they won't make it out of the east.

Now that the season is almost over I feel comfortable chiming in on the MVP discussion. There's no denying what Westbrook did this year was history making and MVP worthy. Harden's numbers are almost as good and his team is better. Leonard is also a viable candidate but I think he has a better supporting cast that makes it easier for him. There is also the annual LeBron is the best player in the game argument but come on, his team can't play defense and he is a part of that. Also, he whines too much, like after his team blew a 26 point lead and he pointed fingers at the refs. The Cavs have under-achieved this year. If LeBron gets the credit for when they're good then he should also get the blame for when they're not.
So, my MVP vote would be:
1 Harden (HOU) 2 Westbrook (OKC) 3 Leonard (SA) 4 LeBron (CLEV) 5 Thomas (BOS)
I'd also be satisfied if Harden and Westbrook were co-MVPs. If there was ever a year where two men are equally worthy and you don't want to split hairs, this year is it.

I've been watching the NBA for 35 years, and my MVP vote would go to Westbrook hands down.

Westbrook gets my vote. A season like this shouldn't go unrewarded.

Well, I can't argue against the fact that Westbrook had an incredible season and deserves recognition for it. If the award was called the "Player of the Year" he would be my hands down pick. But it is the "Most Valuable Player" and Harden's team won more games than Westbrook's so I stand by my choice. It's going to be an interesting ballot this year.
In any case, it's playoff time. Updated ye olde thread title.
Before the season started I, and just about everyone else, predicted a Cavs/Warriors rematch. I still think that is likely, but I am not as on board with the Cavs now as I was then. They are beatable and there are several teams in the East that could do it if they put together a great playoff run. I have to pull the homer card and pull for the Celtics to be that team.
In the end, I think the Warriors win the title easily, unless Durant isn't 100% or re-injures himself.

The homer in me says Thomas. The fan in me says Westbrook.
