Well Miami doesn't have any cap-room either. Lebron is the best player in the league, and he can't get far in the west if he's on a good team? Come on now. Miami is going to be loaded with cap space if/when LBJ, Wade (LOL) and Bosh opt out. They only guaranteed contracts they have for next season are Haslem (player option, and he has sacrificed money for the good of the team in the past) and Norris Cole, who's on a late-first round rookie contract. They can easily fit all three of them under the cap. After that though, they won't have much cap space left. IF. Right now the only guaranteed player for the Heat is Norris Cole, Wade won't opt out. They can't sign the entire big three, and even signing two of them will put us way above the cap.

Well Lebron is opting out. I still think he likely re-signs with Miami though.

I think this is all plan on his part to try and help Miami get better pieces.
The only other place I can seriously see him going is Cleveland, but Houston should be considered a dark horse in this.

Why would he re-sign? Wasn't he scheduled to make around only 20 mil next season? Besides the big 3, only Haslem, Cole, and Anderson are on contract for next year. He wouldn't need to restructure his deal to bring in free agents unless all of big 3 does it.
It's not like 20 million is a lot, especially for the best player in the league. If he re-signs, I would think he'd want more money than what he's getting now, which would not go along with getting better pieces plan for Miami.
I think he's as good as gone.

I actually will be surprised if he leaves Miami. Why? Miami isn't getting any better. Wade is shell of his former self, he's basically done contributing anything valuable. Bosh is Bosh... Say LeBron stays, he's going to want the big bucks, probably at 25 mil a year. If Bosh and Wade both stay for their remaining contracts, they're gonna have less to work with than what they had before. I'm sure LBJ wants to win and the window is closing fast in Miami. Go to Cleveland, play alongside Kyrie, the future #1 pick, win a ring or two and finish out his career there, is there another story book ending?

A few people have thrown out the Hawks. And it will NEVER happen.
BUT, Lebron with Horford, Milsap, Teague, Korver would be pretty damn good.

If you see Bosh and Wade opt out also then you can count on all 3 (or at least 2 of the 3) going back.

As others stated, if the others opt out, then you can expect them to return along with another high profile guy possibly. There is an article on ESPN stating the Hawks and Cavs have flexibility to land both Carmelo and Lebron. It states the Hawks can easily create the room since they have good young talent that can easily be traded. I would love for the Hawks to be a championship contender. I would love to have Lebron, though I don't really like him, and if it takes Carmelo to bring him in I am fine with that too. I just don't know what it would do to the roster. I would like to keep Teague and Horford, but that may be unfeasible. We are a team on the rise, and if Lebron goes out West, we are a player or 2 away from being the best in the East as it is possibly. link

Lol local sports has been saying Lebron comes to the Knicks and Carmelo stays too.
I see Lebron staying in Miami and maybe Bosh leaves. Wade has to stay because he won't get the max contract anywhere.
Calling it now, Melo to the C's hahahaha
I wish

Lebron to the hawks would be amazing. We could actually make the playoffs without getting put out first round and crushing my dreams again

It was a damn good run wasn't it? Two rings in four years is pretty great, loved seeing the Big Three tackle the challenges they faced. Not going to be the same going to games anymore as we'll suck. Wade's knee's are going through more wear and tear, and Chris Bosh has never been as fundamentally strong as a lot of other big men. I hope we keep Wade, always been a fan of him. But i'm glad we'll have a chance to reinvent ourselves and form a new identity, rather than bandwagon fans. Anyways it was a nice run. </3

You mean Wade's knees and the occasional Pacers or Spurs game? Yeah. Hard times. Haha.

Struggles man. Lets see how the Magic do in the draft, hope they pick up Embiid or Exum, let's see how that plays out.

But if they are planning on that, why did LeBron opt out by himself a week in advance? Makes no sense. It was the opt-out due date on his contract. Every player negotiates this... Wade and Bosh, who both admittedly have tougher decisions to make, have until the 30th to choose. I bet they both opt out too, and all three sign sweetheart deals so the team can afford to put higher-quality role players around them.
