Tony Parker agrees to a deal with Charlotte. Crazy after being with the Spurs for 17 years, but at least he will have a backup role behind Kemba Walker. If that's where he wants to be, more power to him. Tony gave everything he had to the Spurs. I'll miss him just like I do Timmy, but I realize all good things must come to an end. He may not be the same player he once was, but Tony will be an instant upgrade to the Hornets' bench.

Iverson and Shaq would have had the age old arguments about possessions. There is only one ball and that would not be enough for those two let alone Kobe and Shaq. This is why I think a prime T-Mac with Shaq is a better argument than Iverson. T-Mac was loved by his teammates and was more than willing to share the ball. Problem was in Orlando he was literally the only guy with Hill always hurt so he had to dominate the ball. I think a healthy combo of Shaq and T-Mac easily take atleast 2 titles and possibly 4 with the depth that Lakers team had. Tmac was my favorite player post Jordan. He could do it all man. But he let me down. He was the best player in the league his last 2 years in Orlando. Better than Kobe. You can blame the injuries, but he never seemed to have the drive Kobe did. He could have been all time special.

He could have been all time special. Even in the latter years of his career he showed flashes of the all time great he should have been (like scoring 13 pts in 35 seconds). His career went down should’ve been a lot better than it did. Would’ve been a top 5 all time player without his injuries.

Nobody would have been definitively better. But then they run into those shaq and Kobe Lakers.

He could have been all time special. I disagree that he didn’t have the “drive.” You have to have motivation and “drive” to be a 2x scoring champ and 7x all-NBA talent. The guy was amazing, but sadly had no help in Orlando due to Grant Hill being perennially injured. His best teammate during his time in Orlando was Mike Miller. That’s a serious lack of talent on that team (the Hill contract really crippled them during those years). T-Mac had to do so much during his time in Orlando that his body broke down during the second half of his career. I always wondered what his career would have been like had he been paired with another star during those prime years from 2000-2004.

^^ If Vince and T Mac stayed together I believe they would have competed with the Lakers for a ring or two. Not sure if they could have beat the Lakers but they would be in the finals in my opinion.

What's everyone think about the Raptors and Leonard rumours? As a die hard Raptors fan I wouldn't want to give up Derozan.

Not a Raptors fan but if I was I wouldn’t want to trade Derozan or Lowry for what is most likely a 1 year rental. Y’all were the 1 seed last year and the guy who knocked you out of the playoffs is gone now. They shouldn’t have fired Casey imo and I think they should keep this group together.

I couldn't agree more! The raps have been in the top of the east for the past few years. The major obstacle(Lebron) is out of the way. I think Lowry and Derozan are both commited to the team. I would rather keep them and try and move Ibaka. I really think the Raps are one piece away. Also remember a few years ago they were two wins away from the NBA finals. Firing Casey was also a big mistake in my opinion. The bench is also solid. Lots of young talent who will only get better. At the same time I think The Pacers , Sixers and Celtics will definitely give them a run for their money.

^^ Not to mention, Leonard would be a rental. Absolutely no guarantee he would resign. Plus with the whole situation in San Antonio I'm a bit skeptical.

I don't see The Raptors getting Kawhi without give up Lowery or Derozen and a bunch of pick and young players, for someone who's most likely a rental it's pointless.

What's everyone think about the Raptors and Leonard rumours? As a die hard Raptors fan I wouldn't want to give up Derozan. I'd do it. You aren't winning a title with demar derozan as your best player. Maybe not as your second best player in today's NBA. Boston is leaps and bounds better, they were the 2 seed without kyrie for chunks of the season and without Hayward at all. And they're young and improving as a team. Toronto isn't. Philly will also be better in 2 years. If they can find a steady #3 and surround the 2 studs with shooters, look out. Toronto, as built, the window isn't closed, because it never existed. BUT as a fan of a bad team, I'd kill to be a contender, even if it was more of a pretender. I'd just like to be in the conversation once in a while. So I feel you on your concerns about losing that status for a 1 year rental that still won't win you anything. I'd shake it up though. That core ain't a championship core.

Via ESPN: The San Antonio Spurs have agreed to trade Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green to the Toronto Raptors for DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and a protected 2019 first-round pick.
Apparently neither Kawhi nor DeRozan are happy about the trade.

You trade the only star that wants to stay for someone that doesn't even want to be there.

Wow, The Raptors actually gave up DeRozan for a 1 year rental of Kawhi. If Masai can somehow woo Kawhi to stay he is one of the best GM's of all time.
