GNR are the gods of making covers better than originals. Knockin' on Heaven's Door Live And Let Die Sympathy for the Devil Nice Boys Ain't It Fun Down On The Farm Don't Let It Bring You Down The Seeker And of course, the greatest cover ever performed: Gee, think I'm biased? How... how did you exclude Cornshucker? FWIW, I'd also tack on Hair of the Dog, Dead Flowers, and Heartbreak Hotel(absolutely love it) to this list. Aw man, I forgot Dead Flowers. I like Hair of the Dog (especially the show where Axl/Sebastian Bach did it) but I still wouldn't put it on the top. But Dead Flowers, yeah.

I think The Temptation's version of "Get Ready" is much superior than the Smokey Robinson & The Miracle's original.

"Shocker In Gloomtown" (originally done by Guided By Voices) sounds so much better when The Breeders covered it. Original: Cover: And Kim Deal is just so nice to look at.

Pearl Jam - Last Kiss Van Halen - Pretty Woman Ke$ha - Old Flames Can't Hold A Candle To You(i don't know it's pretty close though) Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You Johnny Cash - Hurt Guns n Roses - Knocking on heaven's doorFugees - Killing Me Softly jeff buckley - hallelujah Any Others? I agree its better than the original, but I also enjoy the Eric Clapton version. Staying with Clapton, how about Creams version of Crossroads. Also, Guns version of Aerosmiths Mama Kin is very nice too.

Not bad choices, though there are many I'd disagree on.
I'm having trouble thinking of many right off, but the first one that popped in my head was Manic Street Preachers version of Umbrella. I didn't like the song as all until I heard them do it.
Also, it's not better than the original, or even totally a cover as it was mostly the same bad, but when St. Vincent sang Lithium with Nirvana, that was amazing.

From the criminally unappreciated Mark Mulcahy, I give you the best version of the song you awkwardly slow danced to at you're first middle school dance... Helter Skelter - U2 (The Beatles) All Along The Watchtower - U2 (Bob Dylan) "This is a song Charles Manson stole from The Beatles... We're stealing it back!" We need to hang out man! Haha... You ever heard Larry Mullen Jr's (U2's drummer) cover of Whiskey In the Jar? Rattle and Hum is such a great album. I've always loved Heartland and Love Rescue Me.

my friends did two covers of Cry Little Sister, their second one was better than this one but cant find that one on Youtube. Carfax Abbey is a great band
I love Celine Dion, but Bella Morte's cover is just awesome
This is a tough one, I love doo wop, but again these guys make it their own and do a great job

Not necessarily better than the original but I'm digging Lorde's cover of Everybody Wants to Rule The World.
