Being from my area of the UK, it is incredibly hard to find elites, especially at an affordable price. So ever since I re-started collecting figures back in November last year, I've only collected Basics. (Don't tell me I shouldn't be collecting basics just because you prefer elites.) Some Battle Packs and Basics come with colorless, plain, dull championship belts. I happen to own a United States Championship that came with Ambrose and Rollins in Battle Pack 26.
I remember when I used to collect Jakks figures as a kid that I watched a video on YouTube of a guy who painted all his Jakks belts and they all looked awesome. I couldn't find this video when I tried finding it again, but I am planning on painting every dull title I get my hands on. Has anyone done this before? and what paints were used? I plan on spraying the plates shiny before painted the details (U.S flag etc.).
Any ideas?

I usually would spray the plates with spray paint first off to get the shine. Then for the details i used acrylic paint from a hobby shop used for model cars and such. You will need small tip paint brush, and I found tooth picks to be helpful as well to do the fine details.
