The conversation Kevin has with the FBI agent, over the body of the dead GR member, led me to believe there were GR's all over the country/world, or at least groups like them. He offered to wipe them out like it was a common practice, meaning that situation had been handled multiple times before in other places. "Good luck with that, chief." I can't remember if there were other examples of them outside of Mapleton though. I couldn't tell if that call actually happened or not... I completely agree haha, which is sort of my underlying problem with the show. They don't make an effort to draw a line between what is real, and what, if any, is super natural. Those kind of moments seem conceived to confuse the audience. Maybe they'll clarify the situation down the road, but it blurs the lines of the audience knowing what events are real and what are dreams. I had a hard time with the "dog hunter" situation as well, and really the dogs in general. Maybe that conversation was a test, assuming there is still some kind of purgatory going on, assuming we are talking about the actual rapture. This show has a thousand questions and it needs to start being accountable for answering some of them.

Normally when my wife and I are watching tv, I'm on my laptop either doing work or goofing around on these boards. Since the third episode, I can't do that for this show.

I just had this conversation with my wife because she Facebooks while watching shows. I told her she can't do that because I'm not going to rewind non stop when she misses everything haha.

Is everyone else reeling from last night's episode, too? DAMN! I think I'm even more confused than I was before that episode, if that's even possible. That whole situation really exposed the GR for the horrible human beings they are, at least imo. Laurie, Meg, definitely Patti, what they are doing doesn't even make any sense. If they want people to remember, and essentially say the world is over why are you still going, then what motivates the violent behavior? They're obviously malicious, or have malicious intent so they just look ultra crazy. Jill joining that sh*t show is beyond stupid. I can't relate to the whiny, ungrateful, teenage girl character. I'm sure that's not far off from real life but man is her whole schtick annoying. The comical part was that Patti claimed Kevin understood, and Kevin said he didn't know what the she was talking about. I don't know what we're supposed to be retaining and what has meaning. The GR is now meaningless to me. They could be cleared off the earth for all I care. Is Kevin going insane, what's dream versus his actual reality? Does Kevin going insane have anything to do with supernatural events? Dean and his father talk to the same imaginary voices? Dean has to be real right because he was acknowledged in the meeting and Patti talks to him. Did the dog actually bite Kevin? Why is Jill snoopy as , and why does it matter if Nora has a gun for protection? I get that this show is a human study, so like Walking Dead to some degree, but nothing really ties it together for me. There is no common story arc here, at least not yet I guess. I suppose that could occur over the next two episodes. I'm interested to see if Nora goes nuts next week when she sees the mannequins of her family. Laurie, who obviously still has personal feelings indicating everything didn't end for her on October 14, now seems to have it out for her, making her actions towards Meg that much more hypocritical. I really only care about Kevin though. The suspense, if you want to call it that, is breaking down what the hell is going on with him. I don't expect to find that out, at least not until much deeper into the show.

Jill is my least favorite character, so hopefully her character changes considerably next season. I think the moment we see his "other side", it'll be an awesome tv moment. Can't wait. I would occasionally feel bad for the GR, but now I flat out hate them. I'm very eager to see the next confrontation between Kevin and Laurie...

Sunday's episode was fantastic. I have to agree, alot of the proselytizing on the behalf of Patti was pretty nonsensical, especially the recitation of that poem. I love the Kevin going over the edge stuff, he and Dean being partners in batcrap activity.
Jill is really annoying. Nora has grown on me. I don't believe Jill's friend actually had sex with Kevin, even if they set that up in teasers during the early going of the series. I loved the fact that despite Jill finding the gun in Nora's box of 'trouble', it is then disproved that she hasn't in some way moved on, because her answering machine message was taped over from the old one she preserved for 3 years.
Next week with the replica departeds, things are going to explode.

Last night's episode was dope. It's hard to get into without spoiling, but it's neat to see insight on how the characters got to where they were three years after the event. It makes earlier episodes much more impactful.
Next week's finale will be explosive (literally if the teasers are being straightforward).

I'm loving this show. I know it got a lot of flack at the beginning but I've been enthralled since it started. Last night's episode was amazing as well. It was very interesting to see the character's prior to the rapture/event. As stated above, it's a tough show to discuss without spoiling it…

Really got alot out of Sunday's episode. Great to see them all pre-departure, as they were alot happier (for the most part), Jill had a personality, Laurie spoke (and had some great shared scenes with future GR members), and that awesome moment when the times overlap and we see the instant the departure happens. I could see why the rift between Kevin and Laurie. Why Nora was so messed up. Why everyone is how they are.

I wish there were more episodes this season to give more time to develop these characters. I like that it's not like Lost where they go back-and-forth in the same episode. Hopefully there are a couple flashback possibly flash forward episodes next season.

That was honestly my favorite episode of the season. It essentially presented us with all the pre context I wish we had heading into the show. We see the magnitude of the people disappearing, and there was real life character development without some ominous motivation, sans maybe Kevin with the deer. I tend to believe the balloon was foreboding of his wife losing the baby, but he couldn't have possibly known. This show continues to imply that despite completely logical explanations for mostly everyone's erratic behavior, there is something super natural to Kevin's connection with the world. Which is seemingly plausible because people disappeared in super natural fashion.
The show just became massively more human, and I think it desperately needed to give us that information. I honestly don't know why they waited so long to deliver this episode. By design, the show feels like it was presented in a way to confuse the viewer early on in the season. If you place this episode in front of episode 1, it's pretty linear, and far less perplexing imo.

Tonight's finale is going to be insane. Can't wait to see where they leave this season off and what they set up for Season 2.

Tonight's finale is going to be insane. Can't wait to see where they leave this season off and what they set up for Season 2. Bad news; it's next week. HBO takes Labor Day weekend off. Good news; it returns with Boardwalk Empire and NFL football.
