I didn't realize Battleground was tomorrow (I thought it was next week). I've been thinking about this and thought I'd make a thread to discuss Reigns. Many people seem to think Reigns will be winning the WWE Championship at Battleground. However, Reigns has yet to ever have a singles feud in WWE. He spent a good two years with the Shield, whose matches were all tags. Since the Shield broke up, Reigns has only been in one PPV main event alone, which was MITB last month. Is a superstar with zero singles experience really ready to take over the top championship of the largest wrestling company in the world?
His mic work needs work. He can hold his own in the ring, with his comic-book style of action and ridiculous mannerisms. I'll give him that - he gets the crowd excited. But I think this is way too soon for him to win the title. Let the guy get a few upper mid-card and main event level feuds first. I'd say he should feud with Kane for a few months, then feud with Orton for a few months, perhaps Rollins for a few months, and THEN finally face Triple H at WrestleMania, where Triple H will put Reigns over. Reigns does NOT need the WWE Championship just yet. He's just getting started.

Careful, Reigns marks will be coming.
You're sugar coating it, the dude is garbage in ring and on the mic. He shouldn't even be thinking of mid card belts let alone the top championship in the company. And before you all jump on me and say I'm being too harsh or biased I'm not, if he gets better than fine. I'm open to his improvements, but you improve before you win the title, not after.

Huh? Who thinks Reigns is winning the title at Battleground? There's only one man walking out with the title tomorrow...

Is Reigns great, no. I accepted that Reigns would be pushed to the moon after few months of seeing the Shield, so I'm not all that bothered by this.

I like Reigns. I just don't feel he is main event worthy. Cena outwrestles him, out talks him, etc. My opinion is meaningless really. But still, personally I just feel he will never be able to hold a candle to Cena, Rock, or Austin.
If WWE is really planning on making him the next top dog, then I'm disappointed to say the least.
Ambrose seems to have the most potential of the three, lets hope they capitalize on it.
And no, Cena is winning tomorrow. No doubt at all.

Nobody thinks Reigns will win tomorrow night, it's all but confirmed Cena wins and faces Lesnar at Summer Slam, where Reigns will face HHH most likely. Now the tricky part is if they have him win the Rumble and go on to Main Event Mania. It's most likely either going to be Bryan or Reigns winning the Rumble.

We got to remember Cena, Orton, or Batista weren't ready when they originally got their pushes.
I do not think they should push him this quickly. Still needs work as stated in another thread.

WWE doesn't want you to be able to talk or play a character.

I don't like to find myself evaluating talent. I'm not a talent evaluator or booker in the world of professional wrestling. I'm simply a fan. I won't stress myself or freak out when "my guys" don't get what "I want." I will simply watch, poke a little fun sometimes, and try to enjoy it the best I can.
Bottom line is, Reigns will eventually win the championship regardless of what anyone thinks about his wrestling or promo ability.
If you can't watch and enjoy WWE like a fan, then either watch another promotion, or stop watching. WWE is pretty much going to do what it wants most of the time, regardless of who likes it or not.

Reigns isn't going to get the title tomorrow,so I won't worry. This is more of a test f him in that position, and the crowd reaction has been positive.
also, while I agree he shouldn't be at the top, the people calling him garbage are insane. He's solid in the ring and good on the mic. He's not the best talker, but his mic work is perfect for his gimmick. And beyond all, he has the it factor, which is more important than anything.

Reigns is nowhere near as bad as some people say that he is. He has a tremendous look, is solid in the ring and on the microphone, and just has "it." Would I rather have seen Seth Rollins or Dean Ambrose be the immediate breakout star of The Shield? Absolutely, but I'm perfectly fine with Reigns getting the main event treatment.

Speaking as a "Reigns mark", I agree with the OP's post. Roman Reigns is not ready for the World Title, I feel as over as he is, which he is the second most over Shield member next to Ambrose if we're speaking by reactions of the crowd, he hasn't proven himself as a singles wrestler. It'll take time for him to adjust. I feel that his match with Triple H will be the test to see if he'll make it. If the match is not as great, then we'll know he's not ready. I feel by Royal Rumble 2015, he'll be ready to be the main event guy to take the WWE World Title. Right now, it's too early for any of the three, not so much Ambrose because when the Shield was around, he was the one who got the most singles matches while Rollins and Reigns was the tag team, so Ambrose by that standards is the most ready, but it's too early for him as well. Hopefully it works out for Roman Reigns because he gets the crowd going despite not being as good on the mic as I would like for him to be.

The earliest he is getting the title is WM 31 and it isn't like he has no experience, he has been wrestling for 4 years.

You're the kind of person WWE SPECIFICALLY wants to try to get under the skin of. And it appears to be working. Either drink the drink, or don't. Don't stand over in the corner telling everyone how bad the drink is.

Well, I'll just wait a few months and when the masses realize he makes 2014 Batista look like Bret Hart they'll turn on him. I don't know what you mean they'd want to get under my skin, I'm a paying customer.

Roman Reigns should not be in the main event scene or anywhere near the world title. He would have been better off winning the Intercontinental Championship in the Battle Royal.

If any of you think Reigns actually has a chance of to win the title tomorrow, you're getting your hopes up to bitch about something that won't happen.
