but having 18 men figures made without 1 diva is sexism. Especially when you can argue they're releasing the same old stars, who always get reduced, to fill up lines, instead of a diva (ie. Summer Rae) who gets loads of tv time and hasn't had a figure at all. Mattel's Monster High line must be "sexist" too then, because they release way more females than males in that line. Boys toy lines are more geared towards boys and girls toy lines are more geared towards girls. But this isn't a line that they randomly thought of. This is a line based on real people in a real company which women are part of.

Show me one of these current roster Divas who has put in the time and has a personality as big as Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Kane, etc. Then we'd be having a real discussion about why there aren't more divas rather than Ringside got a small quantity of that 0.5 per case figure and sold it for 40 bucks to someone who can't wait so that must mean divas are insanely popular. Did Kozlov have a personality as big as Undertaker, Mysterio or Kane? He got, what, 3 figures? Primo has gotten 4. Surely you aren't telling me that he's up there with those 3 you listed.

To be fair, Kozlov had 2 basics, AJ has had 3 with a 4th on the way. Nattie has had 3, Beth Phoenix had 3, Eve had 2, Kelly had 2, Melina had 2....so to be fair, if the Diva is popular, Mattel tends to release more then just 1. People just wont accept that Divas arent as popular as male figures. If you're low in the Divas line, you're literally at the very bottom of the list.

Yeah, my point with that was his argument about the women not having large personalities like Taker. Which is why I listed Kozlov and Primo, two who obviously don't either but have multiple figures. Though I am glad Mattel has made most of the women's roster, most do need updates. There are guys that need updates too but they'll most likely get those. I doubt I can say the same for the women. Women will sell, they've proved it by making multiples of popular women. If the WWE treated the women better, which they seem to be starting to, then the women can be even more popular and in demand figure wise.

I see it as more of a hiring women to wrestle, not be trotted around as eye candy, then AJ would continue unnaffected and people like Eva Marie wouldn't have a figure for us to complain about because she wouldn't have a job. TNA has done one thing consistently better than WWE over the years and that was have a Women's division that mattered. Diva matches (outside of the few worthwhile competitors) feel like a break in the program, no better or sophisticated than the Nitro Girls segment, for women to showoff New clothes and have Lawler make unsavory and downright creepy comments. TNA knockout matches are often the best matches of the night with actual angles and storylines and are often as lengthy as the men's matches. I don't know why we don't have a Flashback Lita, and despise the logic that keeps Mattel from releasing a Chyna. I also despise the dark ages that WWE keeps it's Women in, but that is a whole long subject unto itself. Maybe WWE is stifling some of its female talent from truly shining and being all they could, but I'm also seeing a lackluster roster being padded with functional gymnasts who flaunt their fake tits well in different tops every week and am not surprised then that they don't sell well and get inclusion. And another thing, the worst selling diva of them all was one of the better in-ring competitors of the time. Bad timing on her release. The barriers that have existed for so long have dissolved with boys liking traditionally "girl" properties and vice versa, but for reason. My little pony is a great example as it is a show written with a broadly appealing spectrum that doesn't insult it's audience, boy or girl. I'm not saying the women's division can't be good and won't sell, I'm saying WWE needs to give a damn first, give people good reason to like the Divas and then it could indeed flourish and sell as well as the male wrestlers. Until then...

It's funny that so many people are saying they don't care about the Divas because I CONSISTENTLY seek out and buy every Diva I can! (My collection is probably about 50% Flashbacks/Legends, 25% Divas, and 25% current Superstars.) The reason I like Divas so much is because, in terms of mold, all of the Cenas, Punks, Del Rios, et cetera, basically all look the same. I love figures that kind of stand out - Divas, tall figures (Khali), short figures (Hornswoggle), fat figures (Mark Henry) ... I don't want a bookcase of one hundred figures that are all basically the same dimensions.

This is a line based on real people in a real company which women are part of. And women are part of the toy line, too. But in both the real roster and to a larger extent the toy roster (because it's a line aimed at prepubescent boys), there are lots more men than women. We could fill the entire Wfigs proboards servers with complaining about not having as many divas as we want, but it wouldn't change the reality. A few hundred diva completists or overall completists cannot and should not dictate the direction of a mass retail toy line... And never will.

I don't see how you're saying tna's division is better when they went in 2009 and fired all the non Barbie type divas (kong, Hamada, etc) and literally had the likes of Lacey Von Erich (who ended Christy's in ring career) had a man win a female title and left it to be undefended for a year, constantly screwed actual wrestlers (sarita, rosita, winter, etc) and even now the division is boring. They get little time now and don't have any interesting storylines. The divas division hasn't been this good since 2000-2004 (where multiple divas got storylines instead of just one). We have divas that are already over (Aj, natalya, eva (she gets heat And a reaction is a reaction) naomi, the Bella's, etc) I'm pretty sure the whole wwe doesn't care about divas anymore can't be said since they stole the show Monday night. This isn't the first time wee has hired an experienced woman and put her on the main roster (kaitlyn, nidia, etc). And to say wwe puts their eye candy first even though the longest reigning champion is a former Indy wrestler is false. We've always had a mix of Indy divas and models and it'll never change. As long as you're good in the ring your background shouldn't even matter.

As long as you're good in the ring your background shouldn't even matter. I'll admit that I haven't watched TNA in almost a year, so fine on that. However, the actual in-ring product was so much more amazing week in and week out. WWE diva matches were generally under 3 minutes, a lot of times under 1, featured cringe-worthy "wrestling", and zero story. TNA knockout matches were always lengthy matches at 5-10 minutes apiece and almost always entertaining. The wrestling was honest to goodness wrestling, not pedestrian speed gymnastics. AJ Lee is one of the few who looks both offensively capable and is legitimately talented in the ring. Background doesn't matter, you're right, but ring ability should. That's why I hate most Diva matches. This is going to go around in circles, I can tell. Maybe you're right, maybe the E is better at the moment, haven't watched in a while, but two or three Divas who are actually talented did not make a show before. And Eva Marie bringing down heat has nothing to do with her character and everything to do with how awful she performs. The fans certainly want real wrestling and I wish WWE would deliver so we wouldn't have to have this discussion. I've said all I'm going to on this subject. Either get it or don't.

There are some Divas I want like updated Layla, Paige, and Lana but I really think we need Lita and Sunny. Sherri and Luna would be great as well but I'm content with my Jakks Sherri if we never end up seeing her.
The Divas are a niche segment of the audience, and thus making them a niche product within the Mattel line. Harder to sell toys of girls when your target demographic is 8-12 year old boys. It's not really that hard to understand imo.

But don't you know that Mattel makes figures for collectors, completionists, Legends collectors, and Diva collectors, not little 8-12 year old boys? /sarcasm I'm all of those things above, but I'm not fooling myself into valuing my dollar over those of the parents of aforementioned 8-12 year olds.
