That's why Cornette was the writer for the highest rated period ever?

On Russo, Ive listened to many of his interviews ,including podcasts and always enjoyed listening to him. As much as i love Jim Cornette the guy has a big mouth that sometimes could do with being shut.

The fact that Owen wasn't on the list is ridiculous. Also, I would assume that losing his family would be 1, not 9.

Don't know how the guy was apart of the wrestling business for that long. Some of the worst things in the history of wrestling were thought up by that man Because he was also creator of the some of best things in the history of wrestling. Not to mention, he had nothing to do with by far the worst angles ever like Katie Vick and the proposed McMahon incest storylines.

Everything Russo ever did was gold. Arquette as champion should have happened again in WWE.

He's a complete joke. The only thing that I agree with is he should never have enter the Wrestling business. God knows a lot of garbage would never have happened. Why people still actually care what this guy says and actually think he is telling the truth or being sincere is beyond me. Really? You do realise that the WWE was on top of the world while he was head writer and the entire company was at a level that it will NEVER reach again.
I would watch Russo's worst storylines over Katie Vick any day of the week.

Damn straight, if not for Russo, the Brood and other awesome characters from the Attitude Era would have never made it to television.

No mention of the Blue Blazer incident is just wrong, hell, I remember in Bret's book saying that it was Russo's idea for the Blue Blazer stunt, but Bret, surprisingly didn't resort to any kind of violence, like he did with Shawn.
I dunno, I still have a deep hatred of Russo with what happened with Owen.

Touche, whoever came up with Angle wanting to have bestiality sex with Booker T's wife is a flat out sicko

I've heard people blame Russo for Owen's death, but hearing him discuss it on Austin's podcast, it certainly seems that he isn't as responsible as some have made him out to be. His completely breaking down and crying at least shows how much Owen's death affected him at the least.

Let the video do all the talking: The best part of that video is Piper slapping Russo right in the face and Russo doing absolutely nothing about it... until the Harris brothers come out, and suddenly Russo is begging them to hold him back. What a loser.

I actually like to listen to Russo talk these days. He has matured a lot and learned a lot of hard lessons. It's big of him to be able to look back at a lot of his mistakes and own up to them. The guy DOES get an unfair amount of criticism, and I get why. This, exactly. I also really appreciate that his insight to the current product is very constructive and in depth, ala JR, and unlike that of Jim Cornette and his "everything sucks and I hate it all". I suppose that's reflective of how Russo had been able to kee up with the times and isn't stuck in the past, at least when it comes to wrestling. I do think that there are at least half a dizen things he can add to the "Undertaker's Symbol" section, but I digress.

He obviously has had a tremendous effect off of Owen's death, but I do not think Russo - or anyone else, for that matter - is truly responsible for what was a freak accident. Cornette is a moron to even suggest otherwise.

Ugh, it's just more humble-bragging, self-congratulatory nonsense. The whole thing boils down to "I worked too hard and was too nice a guy, and let people with bad ideas win because I had better ideas but I didn't want to cause trouble." Thank You! I read this yesterday when it was first posted and I couldn't put into words what I wanted to say. You have summed up my thoughts perfectly.

Oh God, Russo did nothing any other person in his position did except maybe take credit for crap he never actually did. The Attitude Era worked because of 2 men and 2 men only. Vince McMahon and Steve Austin. Russo is nothing in the wrestling business, he is a never has been and never will be.

i'm almost shocked that jim cornette's name isn't even mentioned. He actually has tried to reach out to Cornette to talk to bury the hatchet and Cornette told him to off basically. Cornette would be the biggest hypocrite if he buried the hatchet with Russo. He doesn't need to. There is nothing for Jim to gain out of it.
