Hey guys,
I did a search on this topic and couldn't find much so I thought I would ask, moc or loose? Do you keep your figures moc or do you open them up and display them? I kept all my classic superstars moc because I liked the packaging and they looked cool displayed next to one another. All of my mattel figures are moc too at the moment, but I want to open and display them! Let me know your thoughts!

I've never kept a single figure MOC. I display everything I get.

Mostly loose. About 45 loose figures. About 17 moc
It's all preference tho. If I really like a figure enough I'll buy two. Keep one each.
Undertaker elite figures, however, I keep one moc and one loose because he's not only my favorite, but the greatest to ever do it.
I have a hound dog and he likes to chew on things if he finds it and deems it chewable. I've had to replace a couple Takers because of him. So I don't like to display too many loose because if anything were to cause them to fall in the floor, I'd be pissed. But I do display all my loose Taker figures because what's the point in having figures that I really like and am proud to have if I can't see them daily?
I've got numerous gems in a Rubbermaid bin tho because I don't have the room to display them all. But I do occasionally bust them out and do some playing around in my ASR

I do both. I have a select few u keep MOC. I also have a ton opened up on display. It only matters what you want to do with them. The value may go down if you open them, but not as much as you think in some cases. Release them from theIraq paper and plastic prisons and set the them free to your display of choosing.

I used to be a MOC collector but I was running out of room very quickly, so one day I opened all of my mattel elite collection, I have a small MOC collection and my autograph collection of elites, those are the only two MOC collections, If I had more room I would display all of my loose elite collection but their just in dotage bins at the moment

And I agree with the multiple figures lol I have three Road Doggs just because its such a great figure.

I'd consider myself a loose collector but bought a few doubles to keep MOC. Recently got Rikishi to sign my e27 hoping the other MOCs get signed. But I mostly keep basics MOC since they're not posable like elites. As for Jakks cs, they're awesome to keep MOC.

I open every figure, I still have every Elite box because I like the graphics. I play with all the figures I bought and display them when I'm not playing with them.

I go loose. It takes up a LOT less space and there are nice designs on the back of a lot figures (like Bret Hart, legends Macho Man, etc.) If you leave it in the box you lose all of that detail plus you can't pose it in any other form than the way Mattel decides to pose it. In my opinion you're not getting your money's worth if you leave it in the box. You'd do just as well to buy statues.

As of now I'm an moc guy, but it takes up so much room. What sucks is when I started collecting it was just legends and defining moments but those basically got transitioned into flashbacks so the packaging is all mix matched now. So eventually I'll open them.

I expected more MOC collectors, but perhaps there is a wave of them on their way.
I'm pretty much a loose collector, as I like to do the whole #Toyspotting social media gimmick.

Waaay back when I was you get I would open up everything, but now everything is MOC. All my mattels are MOC and quite a few of my jakks - I think there's something sweet about a really neat, good condition MOC figure that I like, plus I used to have a tendency to lose a lot of accessories when I'd open then up haha

Even though some figures look amazing MOC, I simply don't have the space. I also like to "play" with my figures and mess around with them when I'm bored. I mean, if I'm giving $20 for a figure, I wanna feel it, you know?
I get why some people like to keep them MOC and it will probably pay off for them in the long run, but for me, wrestling figures are meant to opened. I also like the look of them when they're displayed on a shelf or in an big scale ring like the ASR. I think it looks cool.

I'm a MOC collector... I just prefer them that way. I can see why people do both - although most loose collectors can't understand people keeping them MOC ("free them from their plastic prisons" LOL). At the end of the day, it's down to your personal preference. All of my mattel figures are moc too at the moment, but I want to open and display them! ...I think you've just answered your own question.
