Ryback, by far. The way they built him up for Hell in a Cell was incredible, and resulted in an incredible buyrate for that show. Then they killed him for SuperPunk and it was all gone. But at least it gave us Brad Maddox, who is still a vital part of Raw every w... Aw, damn. Super Punk? I think everyone came out looking weaker in that match. I'd agree with the Super Punk name if we're talking about the 2013 Punk/Ryback feud. Punk buried his ass in that feud. Holy crap. Punk is my favorite wrestler of all time but I'll admit Ryback's second feud with Punk was the final nail in the coffin.

Agreed totally. though he was talking about Rybacks initial push into the WWE title match. I still remember the Raw when Punk squashed Ryback in a few minutes in a street fight.

Ryder, he has way more talent than Ryback, and like you said can draw money.

Ryder. There was a time I thought he was the next big thing in wrestling. And he did it without the machine backing him. If they had, who knows how big he could have gotten? That gimmick was not going to be the 'next big thing' in wrestling. They dropped the ball with Ryback. He could have been a good #2 babyface to Cena (the Warrior to Cena's Hulk) but they pissed all over him. Sorry. I basing my answer off my opinion, not other people's assumptions. I should have known better. All I know is Ryder was getting some of the loudest pops. And Ryback was getting loud Goldberg chants. Never said Ryder wouldn't have needed tweaking, just said he got there on his own. And if WWE had actually attempted to back him he could have been much more.

I agree with your initial opinion actually. All anyone needs to do is re-watch TLC 2011 and listen to 'dat pop' over Ziggler. Could easily have been for the WHC.

Zack Ryder. Many followers on social media, hot seller for merch, and got the fans into the match with chants. Also, had a great YouTube show.

After reading Foley's blog I go with Ryder. While it is not a perfect comparison, Ryder had an organic growth similar to Austin's. It just happened and the fans were so into Ryder and instead of the WWE riding it for all it was worth it just didn't happen. Add to that the issues Foley brought up, telling the wrestlers to reach for the brass ring and then tell them to hand it back when they get over, does send a bad message to all the young wrestlers.
Ryback was pushed to the top way to fast to last. Monsters/Unbeatables work when they run through all the jobbers, mid-carders and gatekeepers then get promoted to the main event. Ryback got to the main event level to fast and had to much to work on when he got there.

as much as I dont like him, I have to go with Ryder. Ryder was "planned" to be nothing. He as well as the fans made him big. They put him in a role where he could be in the ring with Cena, Rock etc. Ryback was shoved down our throats. We were "forced" to like a guy that has no charisma, very little in ring talent and looks like the child of RVD & Goldberg. It was never, ever, ever seriously going to work with him.

Zack Ryder wouldn't have remained over though. He only connected with a certain demographic. The Jersey Shore is long dead now, and Ryder wouldn't have stayed popular. And the only reason why fans chanted "We Want Ryder" at Survivor Series 2011 was because they were in New York, his home town.
I believe I heard somewhere the reason why Ryback's push was stopped was because of his ego. That could be true, I don't know. But I have a feeling Cena was scared that Ryback was gonna take his spot, so maybe he talked to Vince about having Ryback go heel, challenge Cena, so Cena can go over, and then Ryback became what he is today. Which is sad.

Ryder was organic, Ryback was manufactured. I vote Ryder. You could make another Ryback tomorrow. I think they're calling it Roman Reigns these days.
Ryback has always been a talentless hack. His claim to fame is being a sh*tty Goldberg in RVD singlets. He's the Renegade 2.0 as far as I'm concerned. Potentially screwing up Rock vs CM Punk to give that meatball the WWE Title would have been a disaster. Ryback landed exactly where he belongs, in obscurity.

Ryback by far. If Ryback hadn't of been the victim of bad booking, he would have probably been a legit main eventer who could have became World Heavyweight Champion, and would still be getting title shots today. Ryback had the look and everything, but then he turned heel and lost 2 feuds to CM Punk, which was the final nail in the coffin.
Zack Ryder was screwed over pretty badly too. He was making WWE a lot of money with merchandise, he was pretty over with the fans, and I could have seen Zack Ryder at least chasing, the WWE or World Heavyweight title if they hadn't of killed his push. Zack Ryder could have a great upper midcarder if he was still in the same position he was in 2011.
I like both of these guys, and what happened to both of them is a damn shame and lost on WWE's part.

Zack Ryder.. Mainly because Ryder did it ALL himself. He literally was nothing, in the WWE and going nowhere.. Decided to make it happen without anyone's help and did so.
WWE sabotaged everything he established without them.
Ryback was always a product of the WWE machine. He was only gonna get as far as they wanted because they created EVERYTHING about him. Whereas Zack Ryder prolly could have left WWE before they killed his momentum, and not have been as damaged as he is today.
I see it as 2 different situations.

Everyone Cena has ever beat dating back to 2004, including The Rock and Triple H.
