...really? It's pretty expected... Jakks made dozens of Hogan figures, and obviously once Hogan separated from TNA, of course Mattel would start making figures of him. I don't see why it's a big deal. It's a defining moment for Mattel collectors who don't give a about Jakks. That's like saying, "Daniel Bryan winning the main event at Wrestlemania isn't a defining moment because dozens of other people have won main event matches at Wrestlemanias in the past. And since we kinda saw it coming, that makes it even less of a defining moment." Yeah right.

That's something that's never been done before and easily could have never happened. But of course Mattel's making Hogan.

I'm okay paying a bit more for the figure. I do believe that due to the belt and the chain, shirt and added detail to the headband, this has pushed it to defining moments. But it's also about the same price as a RSC exclusive. And if this is how they are going to introduce A level guys like flair, hogan, razor and sting. I'm more then okay with it. For some reason I think the Rocky Maiva might be a defining moment for the end of the year. But I'm more then happy to pay a bit more for current level they are giving us in defining moments V2.

The fact that Hogan is being made by Mattel is a 'Defining Moment' how so? It's a defining moment, not an 'unexpected moment'

I would pay a lot more for the Hogan DM as well since he comes with something as rare as the 86 Wwf title. I buy elites all the time that I just kinda like so I am willing to shell out more for A list Legends like Hogan Sting and Razor. I am so pumped about these 3 and the DM figures we could get down the line. Only compliant from all the announcements is that I wish The 91 Warrior was an elite. Still Mattel is knocking it out of the park and its a great time to be collecting.

Nobody was giving Mattel hell. And nobody is complaining. Just pointing out that this seems like it might be a cash grab. Maybe it is. I'm not really worried about it. But I could see why some people might question this. I still think the scan is gross.

I was thinking the same thing about both him and razor. It seems more like they're using the dm line to debut the most desirable flashbacks and thus be able to charge more money. I'm sure it'll work but since we can expect future elite releases of the same guys in their various incarnations, it's gonna cause some people to ponder things like "why'd I pay 25 bucks for my wrestlemania 3 hogan when my nwo hogan has just as much detail but only cost 18?"

I don't really understand the cloth fascination that some folks have, but certainly they wouldn't have included a cross, rippable shirt, unique title and headband in a regular elite figure these days. Plus they know we're gonna pay it for that first Mattel Hulkster. The cloth fascination comes from it simply looking better. It definitely isn't that. Having plastic skin, hair, boots, trunks and then a cloth shirt/coat etc is visually and texturally incoherent. They've never done a cloth robe that looks remotely as good as the robes of Elite 6 Goldust and Elite 8 Regal. I assume the appeal of cloth stuff is secretly the dolly dress-up factor because it's fun to be able to Velcro shirts on and off without fiddling with all the plastic pegs and slots that don't stay closed, but cloth at this scale usually looks weird and ill-fitting (as do most of the plastic t-shirts, of course). Compare elite Luke Harper's jeans to those on Defining Moments Triple H -- if you genuinely think the HHH jeans look better, I can't help you. But everyone has their own preferences, I guess. And Mattel mixes and matches to cater for all of us.

Maybe it's just me but why exactly is this Hogan in the Decining Moments collection. I thought that was reserved for really detailed figs or with multiple cloth accesories Don't get me wrong this Hogan is awesome but it has a plastic tank top, necklace, some sort of bandana and a belt. No real detail on the outfit Sounds like a normal Elite to me I can see that Rocky figure with a belt, Sting with all his stuff and Razor with more detail and guess ladder and IC belt(s), NWO Hogan, 2002 Hogan with all there stuff Anyway impressed with everything from the Comic Con can't wait to see them hitting the shelves The answer is simple. Mattel would rather have you pay a premium for figures they know people want. Hogan, Flair, Razor, Sting, these are guys people actually want. So mattel will capitalize on this and charge more money. Flair only comes with a Robe and a belt, I really dont feel this is worthy of being a defining moment either, but Mattel wants that money so they dusted off the old Defining moments box maker and put the figure in one of those boxes.

Defining Moments price point on this is almost entirely down to the belt. Even so, the thing had better be VAC. Let's face it; EVERYBODY AND THEIR MOTHERS is going to buy this thing and Mattel knows it.

To me it would have made more sense for them to do Hollywood Hogan as the defining moment. Hogan turning heel shifted wrestling entirely. But I'm not complaining. I'm so ing happy they're doing Hogan at all. Mattel won Comic Con this year by far.

I am guessing the Hollywood Hogan will also be a DM. Why not? We pay extra for certain figures for preorders all the time. It's only a few bucks more than Bray or Crush was and Luger is. I have no issue with it. Like others have said, it's Hulk Hogan....

Maybe new tooling involved plays a factor too?
Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if we see another elite hogan in the elite line just with maybe a standard red shirt and bandana. With winged eagle belt instead.
Hogan is going to be a 'cash cow' and if any sense mattel will be milking that co was much as possible. And I will be buying any elites they care to churn out
I just can't wait too see how they do an nwo hogan!

Ya the shirt being rippable, a brand new title, cross and bandana is fair to me. Razor is going to need to have his chains, maybe 2 ic titles, or ladder, combo of those. Maybe a toothpick too lol. Sting with WCW belt, coat and bat. They really want to go all out for these wrestlers 1st releases so I'm fine with it being this way. If you want a tooth pick, he would need mouth articulation and tooth articulation. it would be kinda cool if they just stuck that in there when they made the finished head scan. I'd be a bit surprised if they made a Razor head scan without a toothpick.

The fact that Hogan is being made by Mattel is a 'Defining Moment' how so? Let's see: - He's arguably the biggest star ever. - He was in TNA for the first 3 1/2 years of the Mattel/WWE deal leading most of us to think it wasn't going to happen. - He's Hulk ing Hogan. - Adding Hulk ing Hogan to the list of guys Mattel has given us only strengthens the argument that Mattel is the GOAT prowres figure line. - He's Hulk ing Hogan. - As another user said, it's "Defining Moments" not "Unexpected Moments" Seriously, how is getting Hulk Hogan NOT a crowning moment for this line? Mattel has given us Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Andre the Giant, Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat in the same line. That's only happened ONE OTHER TIME and it was with the Hasbro line.
