I don't play or animate, so articulation doesn't make a difference. Some really great attires have been done in the basic line. Of course there are things like entrance gear, full color tats, and sometimes complex deco to make Elites great as well.
The great thing about the basic line is that it is a cheap way to get a full roster and the best way to make certain guys. Not everybody deserves an Elite. I wouldn't buy Primo and Epico nor Los Matadores in Elite. At 10 dollars per figure they are unique enough to round out a roster. At 20 bucks a pop I would skip them because they suck as wrestlers.

I much prefer the Elites... the accessories, the packaging and just the overall look of the figures - it all makes them seem higher quality and more collectible.
