That's interesting. Is it a Matty exclusive? I would love it more if I could get them at retail. I never got too deep into the line when I was a kid, just the four Ghostbusters and Stay Puft (which I still have ) . I had thought about picking up some old figures from ebay but the money always seems to go somewhere else. There's too much good stuff and not enough cash.

Yeah, this is wait and see. I personally hate the Matty Collector format. I still don't have Winston from the movie versions. This to me is all relative to how they do it and how they release the characters. I don't want to start collecting these just to only get a fraction of the characters or whatever.
I was a massive fan of the show and the original figures, but I'm proceeding with caution on this one. Admittedly, I would love to see a Firehouse made in the way of the Castle Grayskull they just did. I guess we'll see.

Didn't Mattel make figures of them like this that were sold at TRU?

Somewhat interested in this, but mainly due to the very slim possibility we might get a new & pimped-out Firehouse playset out of it, similar to what they did with the recent MOTUC Castle Grayskull.
Although is anyone else worried they'll go with 4" scale instead of 6"?
Kinda like how they ruined the new classic DC movie figure line... Man I was so hoping that line would give us 6" high quality figures from Batman 1989 and Batman Returns.

Honestly I can't imagine these will compare to the charm and fun of the original line. I think one of the things most of these lines miss the boat with is the fact that these toys were made for kids originally with no thought process going into collecting and now they're trying to reverse it. My favorite Real Ghostbusters figures were the Power Pack Heroes: So Mattel instead chose Mego-style which had already basically died when these came out and this show was at its peak and is frankly nothing like these figures at all to release a line for. It's cool that they'll give it another shot but if it's just super accurate versions of what we've already seen that will just go in line and scale with the rest of all Mattel action figures I'll be bored and not bother. It's a tough call. They can't re-do what Kenner did (I don't think?) and they likely can't just make up new 'Power Pack Heroes' styles, or won't make them up because they don't trust it. I was less than impressed with the entire movie line and the only thing I ever wanted were the ghosts, and that's coming from one of the biggest Ghostbusters fans on the planet. Good luck, I say!

I would be pumped if this does really happen. I bought everything that came out on mattycollector including the props. A Real Ghostbusters line is all I really wanted though.

This is great news......in the original line we never got a Sam Hain-not counting the exteme gb one, boogeyman, grendel, sandman, the evil green spririt ghostbusters etc...and we never got a smaller slimer that was to scale with the rest of the ghostbusters.....I can't believe he was never packed with any peter figures instead of all the generic ghosts we got. I know we wont get all of those but hopefully at least some of that.

I'm really trying not to get my hopes up with this line cos I bet they'll be 4 inch. Which I can't stand. Anything less than 6" scale is just too small to make a decent figure IMO.

Minimates are way more detailed than Lego figures. They do a good job with the details and accesories...just my own personal taste. I like the more simplified, stylized look of the lego characters.

Not sure if anyone saw this, and I didn't really want to make a new thread, but Diamond Select is making a line of Ghostbusters figures. They are going to do at least the 4 main characters and I guess we'll see from there. I'm not a particularly huge fan of DST because their headscans on figures are usually pretty terrible but I'm excited to at least see what they do. toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=168&itemid=23487
