Are all Americans this cheap and tight fisted? They're $135 in the UK. I got mine at the cheapest price through pre-order of $110. Isn't UK currency different? Like money is worth more and you earn more or something? Get taxed less? Get taxed more? irreverent.in most cases,any store outside of usa (at least in aus & nz,maybe uk) they charge close to if not double the usa price.in nz the reason is because of when the currency was at $1nz = $0.50us,but when the currency increased,the prices stayed the same.this is why alot of people on here who arent from usa get mad when the americans complain about $20 for an elite figure

Thanks for clearing that up for me

Thanks for clearing that up for me secondary market (eg trademe,ebay,etc) yes,but its mostly what i explained above.though,we hardly get any wrestling stuff nowadays because of shelf warmers and the price.our stores have a habit of ordering too much of a series,it not selling fast enough so they dont order new sets

I never thought I'd need one until I saw the most recent pictures. I really need to think hard about this.

Not sure tbh, theres such a huge gap in wages, i have apprentices working under me who are 17 and get paid £100 per week ($169), im earning £583 per week before tax ($988) whilst the adults i manage earn £288 ($488). It depends were you live, what your job is as i guess it does in America. This is admin/office manager salaries and live in Liverpool. London would get paid more but everything costs more so it evens itself out.

Stats are all over the place...but I think...I think the average worker gets paid like 15 thousand a year in AMerica....most Americans are on welfare....
So, 85 dollars for a ring is a tons for many of us. I don't wan to turn this thread into anything more than it is...
I want people to buy the ASSR, but that FIgures Toy Company seems better imo. My friend has one and quality was way better, again imo, that Mattel's. If the ASR is similar to the Mattel then the Figures Toy COmpany's generic ring is a cheape/better option.

So after years of complaints that an authentic scale ring be made, no one wants to buy it until it goes on clearance for $20 bucks. Haha

After seeing some collections on this board, some have literally spent thousands and dropping $80 on a handful of figures wouldn't even require a second thought. Spending $80 on a ring though.....

These same people are also constantly asking for play sets and scale ring add ons like the cell, chamber, etc;
You can't expect a company to make these things when you don't even support the initial product until it's on clearance.

So after years of complaints that an authentic scale ring be made, no one wants to buy it until it goes on clearance for $20 bucks. Haha Maybe it's because I'm just used to seeing the RSR going for $125-$150 used, but when I first saw the $80 price tag, I thought, "Oh, not bad." I was surprised to see so many grievances regarding the price. $80 isn't chump change, but how many posts do we see from people dropping almost twice as much for the latest set of Elite figures? I'm a relative newcomer to the Mattel line (less than a year), but I've gauged that there's been a nice demand for a re-release of the RSR. We've finally got it, and it sounds like it mostly lives up to the hype. Again, $80 isn't an insignificant amount of money, but how can we expect releases like this if so many people won't even consider the purchase until it's marked down? Where's the incentive from the company to roll out these things if there's not enough people to put their money where their mouths are?

That waiting for clearance mentality is what helped kill the gi joe brand. Everyone waited until large ticket items showed up at Ross or TJ max to get them. Not the main reason for the lines decline but a reason for it.
I cannot wait to pick one up. I will be using a 20 percent off coupon that I have from toys r us through their rewards program.
