Just checking Honky Tonk Mans twitter page and he has announced that he has bought himself out of WWE's legend contract due to WWEs financial difficulties.
Interesting. I guess this means no more HTM figures.
TNA losing their tv deal, WWE cut backs, hard times for wrestling at the moment.

are WWE really that hard up? That they are offering guys to "buy out" of their legends deals?

are WWE really that hard up? That they are offering guys to "buy out" of their legends deals? WWE finally feeling the financial heat from years of horrible creative decisions? Always taking the easy road, putting the title on Cena 152 times instead of building new talent. Jobbing prospective stars like Cesaro, Sandow, Ziggler, Wyatt. Paying Brock Lesnar exuberant and undeserved amounts of cash for limited dates. Can't say I feel the least bit sorry for them. Unfortunately the financial difficulties probably mean they'll lean MORE on the status quo and dig themselves further into a hole.

There's the official Tweet. He hasn't yet bought out, he phrases it as an upcoming act. Also, he recently tweeted about TNA & WWE's financial problems as of late, so maybe he's just making a comment about that. Lastly, he refers to himself in third person in his tweets uses commas as spaces, and well he just seems like he doesn't have a grip on reality. So I'd take it all with a grain of salt.
There's 1 Elite out there of him, is there more that's needed? It seems like he'd be hurting himself more than him hurting us.

I don't really think we were getting another HTM. So regardless if HTM still has his deal or not, seemingly makes no difference.

I'm lost. People are saying he bought himself out of the Legends contract, meaning he gave money back to WWE?? Does this mean HTM has money??

Lets be honest, HTM wasnt ever a marketable guy. He wasnt going to have Tshirts, wrestling buddies or Documentary DVDs. The only thing he was really going to get was a Mattel figure and Mattel has made it very apparent that they have no desire to release mid card guys from the 80s more then once if at all. Honky probably got a decent payoff by just letting WWE buy him out and probably got more then what he would have from floundering around month after month without selling any merchandise.
