Got one figure. He's lucky I bought that since I was never really a fan of his.

Honky Tonk Man is a known troll on Twitter. I'm positive that he was joking.

So he actually had some money (that WWE "needed") to buy out the deal? I smell something strange here.

Misleading title. Just think of it as sports. If a team doesn't want you as a player, they rather buy you out so you are off the team now then wait until contract is over. Give you money now to go away. I think I'm right?
Either way we got a figure, on to the next one.

Lets be honest, HTM wasnt ever a marketable guy. He wasnt going to have Tshirts, wrestling buddies or Documentary DVDs. The only thing he was really going to get was a Mattel figure and Mattel has made it very apparent that they have no desire to release mid card guys from the 80s more then once if at all. Honky probably got a decent payoff by just letting WWE buy him out and probably got more then what he would have from floundering around month after month without selling any merchandise. Well, he does have a shirt on wweshop that is sold out in most sizes ad his figure did very well. I don't know what else would sell, but there's at least that much.

There's the official Tweet. He hasn't yet bought out, he phrases it as an upcoming act. Also, he recently tweeted about TNA & WWE's financial problems as of late, so maybe he's just making a comment about that. Lastly, he refers to himself in third person in his tweets uses commas as spaces, and well he just seems like he doesn't have a grip on reality. So I'd take it all with a grain of salt. There's 1 Elite out there of him, is there more that's needed? It seems like he'd be hurting himself more than him hurting us. I would have liked his black jumpsuit with the blue in it and the blue or black tight underneath to eventually go with a R&B Greg Valentine (in a perfect world we'd have TWO Greg valentine figs let alone ONE...if that EVER happens lol) but other than that there's no need

The shirt didn't sell out until it went on clearance though and it wasn't even on there very long before it was put on clearance. I actually bought one for $4 and change when they ran a sale to take an additional 40% off clearance items. It's a goofy shirt.

I don't think most of the legends shirts are doing as well as they hoped, but I have the Bigelow, Rip, and Albano ones. I wanted this one and JYD's but it didn't work out.

Yeah, I got Honky, Snake, and the Bushwackers, but missed out on Albano, Shango, and JYD. They don't seem to be doing well because most do go on clearance fast.

Only problem his figure had was it been out of scale (too tall). Still great figure...if have bought another with different attire but if he's gone I'm not going to cry over it.

I have to believe there is a way for Mattel and HTM to do a contract for likeness rights that in conjunction with Mattel's WWE contract would allow them to make another HTM figure if they wished. If what Foley said about the Legends contracts are universal I have a hard time imagining the WWE is losing any money to the legends on them allowing that the Legend is marketable.
