700k.
Uh-oh. That's not TNA-bad, but it's very, very, very bad. They're promising shareholders that there'll be huge cost-cutting measures (ie layoffs) to try and save face.

I posted about it in the network thread but I'll repeat here, I think the number is going to be much much worse around the end of the first 6 month period where people can opt out of their subscriptions. Imo they're just not putting stuff out fast enough. You've got all this content but yet its mostly the same repeated stuff week after week. The monthly PPV for 9.99 is basically the only thing keeping me hooked into it.
It reminds me of the 24/7 Classics on Demand subscription, they started out of the gates hot with lots of content, then after a while got bored with it or something and then let it just die into obscurity till they came up with a new way to "reinvent" the WWE On Demand service.

I wouldn't say "very, very, very bad" necessarily. It's still only a 6 month old product. The one year mark is where I'd begin to judge. I personally love the product, I'll easily be a long time subscriber.
Also, unless I'm not seeing it, they should have it where you can gift the subscription. I'd spend $25/30 for a 3 month subscription to a friend to get them hooked.

The WWE, and honestly everyone should know that the first few years of this service are going to be rocky, and probably lose them money. Long term I still think it is a great idea. But having to answer to shareholders is the biggest downfall of the WWE because they will not tolerate them losing money short term for long term gains.

People with Paypal can already opt out... And have. Since the WrestleMania number, they've gained 161,000 subscribers and lost 128,000.

I just can not fathom how any wrestling fan wouldn't be ecstatic to have this network. My renewal Email came and I resubscribed without the slightest hesitation.

I mean I can see why that is, they aren't putting all that many non-PPV archived footage.

Only five million people a week watch Raw, and that includes people living in the same house so they wouldn't buy separate subscriptions really... And after the five hours of free TV a week, there just aren't many people that need more wrestling than that, even for $10 a month. I just can not fathom how any wrestling fan wouldn't be ecstatic to have this network. My renewal Email came and I resubscribed without the slightest hesitation. When did you get a renewal email? I know my subscription expires on the 3rd of September (yours must be the same?) so I'm not expecting an email for a few more weeks.

Well for me it's something I will probably add and drop often. I've been watching 35 years. Some of the classic stuff is better left to my memory than re-waching. And I have already burned through most of the stuff I wanted to see that they have available. So now it is pretty much solely PPV and new content they are selling me on. And honestly, it's pretty borderline worth it to me. Especially when I pay for Amazon Prime, Netflix, Sirius XM, and other monthly stuff already. I try to limit how many I have. So it is very possible I cancel until the Royal Rumble.

They've uploaded every single Raw from 1993 until late 1995 with random Best of Raw and Best of Smackdown additions. You get the Pay-Per-Views for $9.99, there's NXT, Main Event and shows like Countdown, Monday Night Wars and WrestleMania Rewind. The PPV archive is MASSIVE. All of the Legends of Wrestling Roundtable is up, they've got a bunch of Beyond the Rings, all 1980's Saturday Night's Main Event, ALL Clash of the Champions and I'm not even saying everything. That's ALOT of content uploaded, especially considering how long it takes to do this stuff. Yes, there's a lot more to upload but if they could miraculously do it all at once, people would be done with it in six months and say "I'm not resubscribing, I've watched everything that I wanted to." That being said, the number of subscribers is disappointing, but, if they can get people to renew and add in the overseas subs, they could be near 1 million at the end of the year. At least I hope so.

I'm not, when I go to billing it says my subscription expires on September 3rd and gives me the option to auto-renew. I'm not going to, though. I think I'll wait and see what the pricing situation is... I'm not paying the $60 upfront so if that's the way pricing's changing (which makes sense, as they had so many people cancel already because of the Paypal loophole), I'll just scrap it. If I can keep paying $9.99 each month rolling, I might keep it.

Seems to me that they've been adding new content pretty steady, and they are still adding new stuff and there is so much more to go. It's been stated many times, but they simply cannot throw EVERYTHING out there at once. Spreading it out over time is the best way to go. It keeps people interested and sticking around.
I'm not worried about the numbers, it may be lower than they had hoped, but this is a marathon, not a sprint. The WWE Network is still a VERY new thing, and there's going to be a few bumps in the road, but give it time (a few years, not months) and it will be clicking on all cylinders.

I just can not fathom how any wrestling fan wouldn't be ecstatic to have this network. My renewal Email came and I resubscribed without the slightest hesitation. A lot of fans have this stuff on DVD already, be it from official releases or stuff they acquired from tape trading forums. That's where I'm at. I've got most of the stuff on there on DVD already and I'm not too lazy to where I won't get up and swap out discs and such plus the current WWE product doesn't really appeal to me at this point so the PPVs are kind of moot and even though I enjoy NXT, I don't enjoy it enough to pay $10 or $20/month for it.

I personally haven't even thought for a second about canceling when my 6 months are up. It's a no-brainer to me just for the Pay-Per-Views. The on demand content is just a bonus to me, and I've been watching it a fair amount lately.

I have a couple hundred cassettes tapes and plenty of DVDs and I still love it. 20$ a month?
