Glad to see us in the UK are getting it in October. However, Sky got the rights for the WWE programs for the next 5 years so I don't know how, this will affect it, perhaps it might just end up being an exclusive channel?

I love the WWE Network so I hope that it doesn't go under. I wish that the pro wrestling fanbase didn't have such a niche dug into the internet, because the majority of internet wrestling fans want everything for free and would rather pirate the content.

They could double that number by making it available to the UK.

I was a bit sceptical about the network being a success. It really only appeals to the hardcore fans. When most house holds already get so much WWE TV a week with Raw, Smackdown etc why would they get the network unless they really wanted to go back and watch the old stuff which a lot of kids and casual fans dont want to do.
Im still a bit surprised though how bad those numbers are.
Zero sympathy for McMahon haha.

What do the #WWENetwork & the #XFL have in common? They're both BIG failures Number one, terrible comparison. Number two, who hashtags anywhere but Twitter? Number three, I said number two, tee hee. Number four, you won't respond to this as you never respond to anything I quote you on.

The network is the biggest "no brainer" in the history of wrestling.
Why you wouldn't subscribe to this service as a wrestling fan is beyond my comprehension.

Why you wouldn't subscribe to this service as a wrestling fan is beyond my comprehension. Plenty of reasons that aren't really far fetched. The most common ones I've seen are: 1.) Not having good enough internet to stream the video. 2.) Not having a good enough computer to stream the video. 3.) Not having a video game system to stream the video. 4.) Having most of the classic footage on DVD anyway.

I don't even look at "having the classic footage on DVD" even making sense. At minimum, you are getting TWELVE pay per view events for only $120 per year. That alone more than pays for the price of the network. By itself, just the PPV discount is worth subscribing to the network. Plus, you add all the original shows like countdown, legends house, etc. and it's a no-brainer. I view the classic footage as extra to be honest. For anyone to say there is a "lack of content" or they "watched all the classic footage" and are done is just bizarre to me. You are still getting new original footage and twelve PPVs a year for $120. It's a no-brainer.

Then it's time to sell the old wrestling DVDs and use the money to have the internet connection upgraded. Even if you are only interested in 2 PPVs per year (let's say Rumble and Mania) then you are STILL getting your money's worth by subscribing to the network.

Even if you are only interested in 2 PPVs per year (let's say Rumble and Mania) then you are STILL getting your money's worth by subscribing to the network. So I should sell my DVD collection so I can subscribe to an online streaming service where I can watch the exact same stuff? I have good enough internet to stream on it as-is, but I'm not a fan of the current product and since I have most of this stuff on DVD already, I don't see why I should keep the service but that's just me. You are still getting new original footage and twelve PPVs a year for $120. It's a no-brainer. Some people live in areas where good internet isn't exactly easy to get. Same people who are now out in the dark because DirecTV dropped WWE from their PPV lineup and they can't switch to cable. It's easy to forget that not everyone has equal access to stuff like this yet. To a lot of people, the archival footage is a big draw and the PPVs are the bonus. It depends on how you view the Network, I think. If you're a fan of the current product then it's an easy $10/month, but if you're not and the classic footage is why you're hanging around, then I can easily see why you'd want to drop it if you have everything on DVD. You do make valid points about the PPV discount, though.

However, I think even "casual" wrestling fans still (on many occasions) order Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania as those two PPVs get the highest buy rates every year. That being said, just by ordering those two shows will cost you upwards of $120 and you can only watch them one time (unless you wanna use up precious DVR space) with NO additional content. On the same hand, you can spend $120 per year, watch them over and over and over again PLUS get classic footage, original content, every PPV ever, etc.

i feel like piracy could be a huge issue here as well. a lot, if not most, of classic footage can be found freely on the internet and new shows can be streamed/downloaded at ease. many of the younger fans are aware of this and use it at will, but the older fanbase would just settle for the easiness of the network/avoidance of piracy.

For what you pay, what you get is phenomenal. I was just listing reasons people were talking about dropping it. My decision to not renew boils down specifically to the fact that I don't like the current product (outside of NXT) enough to pay $120/year to see all the major shows and stuff and the archive footage isn't a sell to me since I have most of it. If I was someone who was into the current product or didn't have a huge DVD collection, this would be my favorite ing thing ever.

I actually sold off most of my DVDs which just contained matches I could get on the network. I did keep the documentaries though. Not speaking for anyone else as I don't expect them to do the same thing but it worked for me.
