If someone throws something at you and it misses... (story)

Is it classed as an assault?

There's this dickhead kid in my area, let's call him Dickhead A. I say kid but I figure he's about 16 or 17 now, but I'm 22 so he's still a kid to me and I could VERY easily whip him, it's not even a match.

He's lived in the area for years and has always tried to start crap with me completely unprovoked. Just a complete ass of a kid. Never to my face of course, only from afar by throwing objects when I'm not looking. I've confronted him a few times and typically he's no longer so brave, he's only a big man when I've walked away. Usually he'll start something and when I confront him his usual cry is that he'll get his big brother. Another dickhead troublemaker, who we shall call Dickhead B. only this one's the same age as me. Again, no big deal because I know I could take him. I've been in a couple of conflicts with him a few years ago due to his little brother starting his crap with me. Nowadays I tend to be the bigger man and handle things in a more grown up manner.

Anyway yesterday as I was walking down the street going to my house after getting some lunch at Subway and I see Dickhead A walking in my direction but on the opposite side of the road with a friend. I just ignore him like I always do & figure maybe he's stopped being such a ing c*nt. Wrong. as I'm a bit farther down the street, I hear a pretty much full plastic bottle of juice smack the ground just feet away from me. I knew right away that it was the prick that just walked past me. I turned around and couldn't see him, but knew he was hiding. His friend had completely disappeared.

Eventually he poked his head out of his hiding spot and I see him. He comes out with a stupid crap eating grin on his face(Off topic note: I don't think this kid has brushed his teeth in about 3 years, they're the same colour as CM Punk's 2012 GTS shirt!). I walk over to confront him because I've had about enough of his crap. At first he denies it when I ask him then admits it. I challenge him to do something to my face instead of always doing it when I'm such a far distance away. I warned him if he did then the Subway drink I had in my hand was gonna get emptied in his face and he'd have a fight on his hands. Once again, the "I'll get my big brother" cries came into play and that he was apparently around the corner. I walked with him around the corner and there was no one there.

He tells me to "wait here" and he'll go and get him. Unfortunately for him I didn't have all ing day to stand around waiting for a fight as I actually have a life and we both went our separate ways. He lives in the same area anyway, I know for a fact that I'll see them in the street again at any time. This morning I was having a think to myself that this sh*t needs to stop. As long as I keep reacting the prick will keep pulling this crap and I'll be playing into his little games, it's absolutely childish. I know the block which he lives, but not the exact door number, but I can find that out from someone I know. And I found out his full name this morning with the help of my old pal Facebook. I figured, why not report this to the police? The station is only 5 minutes up the street and it would be a great little wake up call for the er and the harassment would be sure to stop after a police visit at his home don't you think? He's at least 16 like I said earlier and old enough to be charged.

I just need to know, does this fall under assault, harassment or something else?
