How do you take a picture of figures and put a background behind them? Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, any help is appreciated. Here's a picture of an example of what I mean: Attachment Deleted

Usually you can find a render/png image that the background is transparent, or you could crop it out yourself. Then you simply find a background and paste the cropped/render image onto it. It may seem difficult to a new editor, but once you get the hang of a program like Photoshop you'll be set.

Do you have an image of the figure cut out or on a white background? If not then you'll need to cut it out in Photoshop first before applying it to the background.

Once you start though... you won't want to stop! Once I learned how to do stuff like this, I was doing it to everything! I am in rehab as we speak...

Choose the Magnetic Lasso from the Toolbar on the side Choose a starting point on the image you want to cut out. I usually go for the bottom corner then move the cursor around the image and back to the start. It will create points along the path so if you've made a mistake you can just click Backspace to go back a point. Once you've finished cutting, there will be lines around the image like shown above. Right click it and choose Layer Via Copy.

Thanks for the tutorial but what if that picture already had a background and all I wanted was to cut out the Laurinitis part.
