NXTGeneration: NXT WRESTLING WEEK 1: Zayn/Kidd Main Event! Ballyhoo! Posted on September 5th, 2014 Written by: Justin Tyme
Greetings wrestling fans and welcome to the NXTgeneration blog, I am your favorite Blogger JustinTyme and I’m here with the results of the Thursday, September 4th, 2014 NXT Television tapings. With all that ballyhoo out of the way, let’s get to the meat and potatoes!
The show kicks off with an interview that was pre-taped hours before the show as Sami Zayn was arriving to the building. Byron Saxton rushed up to meet Zayn. When asked about his opportunity tonight to become one of the two competitors vying for the NXT Championship at Takeover, Zayn stated that this is not an opportunity he planned on squandering. He tells Saxton that Tyson better bring his A game because tonight Sami plans on showing the world that he is an A+ player. A really solid promo from Zayn that got the point across and made me feel like a lot was on the line for him tonight.
NXT Women's Championship Paige Vs Emma The opening contest of the night was the NXT Women’s Championship match between Paige and Emma. Kind of a strange choice to start the show off with as the first match is usually the match that’s supposed to suck the fans in however when most fans hear the words “Women’s wrestling” especially nowadays. However let me put it to bed now that Emma and Paige are the exception to the rule. The match was a really solid back and forth match with both women pulling out moves not seen from your typical women wrestlers such as crisp suplexes and tight submission holds. Paige looked to end things with the Paige Turner however it was blocked by Emma. Emma then takes off to the ropes and comes back with a HUUUUGE Running Big Boot. Paige is knocked clean out, Emma locks in the Emma-Lock and Paige eventually taps out. Emma stays in the ring and does the whole championship celebration deal, she looks genuinely happy to have climbed the mountain to this point. ***
Backstage now are two of my favorites in NXT, the realest guys in the room, Enzo Amore and Big Cass. They were here tonight to scout some of the potential tag teams that could be forming in NXT. Not that it matters to them because they’re just like cottonelle tissue and the rest of the competition are like soft shell tacos. Or something along the lines. The point was that the rest of the NXT tag teams are all S-A-W-F-T…. You get the picture. Good promo work as always from Jersey’s Finest.
Prince Devitt Vs Kalisto Next up we have the Real Rock N’ Rolla, Prince Devitt making his NXT Television debut taking on Kalisto. Now let me just say that the match between the two of them was really, really solid. The only problem was that the crowd was kind of out of it for whatever reason. They started to get invested in Devitt a little bit more as the match went on but they just didn’t care about Kalisto so a lot of Devitt’s more heelish tactics didn’t quite illicit the response he probably expected them too. Kalisto goes for a springboard crossbody that Devitt rolls through, hooks Kalisto up and nails Bloody Sunday for the win. After the match Kalisto gets up, still holding his neck and extends his other hand to Devitt in a show of respect. Devitt ignores the outstretched hand, turns around and heads to the back. That got some heat from the crowd. A solid **1/2 star match.
Backstage again this time with Cesaro and Corey Graves cutting into the mixed bag tag team of KENTA and Adrian Neville. Graves did a good chunk of the talking here advising KENTA that since he’s new here maybe he needs advise. Graves advises KENTA to just Stay Down. Cesaro focuses his attention on Adrian Neville and popped me with his line about Neville being “The Man That Gravity Forgot”. Cesaro said that this just means that when he gets Neville into the giant swing, he’s prepared to launch Neville into orbit and Neville will have no choice but to come crashing back to Earth. Awesome!
KENTA and Adrian Neville Vs Cesaro and Corey Graves Speaking of the tag team match, that’s up next here! In case you’re not following along the match features Corey Graves and Cesaro Vs Adrian Neville and the Japanese Sensation, KENTA. This match was fantastic. I’m not usually huge on tag team matches and especially not ones where the teams are so brazenly just tossed together but these 4 just worked so well together that I couldn’t help but get sucked into it. I was disappointed with the lack of Cesaro’s big swing, he set up for it but KENTA was the legal man and he came in full blast and absolutely obliterated Cesaro with his running knee. He signaled to the crowd that the Go To Sleep was coming next, borrowing the hand gesture that CM Punk used to use which of course elicited a CM Punk chant. However before Cesaro could stand up to allow for KENTA to hit him with the GTS, from out of the back came Prince Devitt who blasted KENTA from behind with a steel chair. The referee didn’t see it either as he was busy checking on Cesaro. Cesaro got his wits about him, saw KENTA laid out and hit him with the Neutralizer for the 1-2-3. A really solid match and my lord am I ever excited for the match that’s bound to happen now between Devitt and KENTA. ***1/2
One more time we head backstage where Tyson Kidd is preparing for his main event match that’s coming up next. He’s asked what this win would mean to him. Tyson explains that he was never handed anything in his life, and neither was Sami. Tyson said that he had to scrape and claw his way through the independents as did Sami. Tyson brought up the fact that even after he came to the WWE he still felt like he wasn’t viewed as anyone who was of any value to the WWE. Tonight he starts to prove to the world that he is the most valuable commodity in the world of professional wrestling. This was a weird promo because Tyson’s meant to be a heel in this but I found myself almost wanting to cheer for him here.
Winner enters the NXT Championship Match Tyson Kidd Vs Sami Zayn And finally it is time for the MAAAAAAIN Event of the evening and oooh boy what a barn burner it was. This was such a back and forth contest with counter after counter, both men having scouted each other so well. Needless to say Sami got what he wanted from Tyson as Tyson was on his A game tonight. The match must’ve went for a solid 15 minutes before Tyson made a crucial error going for a springboard clothesline from the apron into the ring but was caught in the chest with a huge dropkick from Zayn. Zayn picks up Kidd, hits the Blue Thunder Bomb and picks up the 1-2-3 and we now know the first member of the NXT Championship match at Takeover. After the match, Zayn picks Kidd up and offers a handshake. Tyson looks around the ring for a few moments before accepting it. After the handshake, Zayn turns to the far turn buckle and climbs it to play for the crowd. When he hops off the turnbuckle though, Kidd meets him with a superkick to the mush, laying out Zayn. Kidd stands over the lifeless body of Zayn, reaches down and grabs Zayn’s hand to shake it again this time a tad more sarcastically. Solid heel work from Kidd and a great way to end the show.
JT's Notes on Notes Overall I’m really looking forward to the NXT Takeover show that’s bearing down on us not this weekend but next. We still have another show to get through which I’m sure will give us the other half of the NXT Championship match as well as some development into the KENTA/Devitt feud. Until NXT week however, I’ve been Justin Tyme.

NXTGeneration: NXT WRESTLING WEEK 2: We’re Taking Over! Posted on September 12th, 2014 Written by: Justin Tyme
Hello ladies and germs and welcome once again to the nXtGeneration blog, I am everyone’s favorite loudmouth writer Justin Tyme and I’m here with another weekly recap of NXT TV emanating from Full Sail University in Winter Park Florida and this was the last show before NXT Takeover on Saturday. So with that being said we have ourselves what promises to be a slobberknocker of a show as Good Ol’ JR used to say. Let’s get to the ballyhoo!
The show opened with KENTA arriving to the building. When he opened the door to the locker room he was met with a boot to the mush by Prince Devitt, laying him out cold. Devitt steps over the lifeless body of KENTA laying in the doorway and heads down the hallway.
Tyler Breeze Vs Mojo Rawley The opening contest of the evening was a mismatch and a half as Prince Pretty, Tyler Breeze took on NXT’s resident hype man Mojo Rawley. Mojo came out of the gates like a house of fire, smothering Breeze with sheer power causing Breeze to roll out of the ring and briefly reconsider his career choice. Breeze grabs his phone and uses the camera as reference to fix his hair. When Breeze finally got back into the ring Mojo swarms him again, backing him into a corner. With Breeze covering up the referee backs Mojo off from his onslaught briefly. As Mojo came back for more, Breeze catches him with a kick to the knee, felling the big man. Breeze took this opening as a chance to deliver the Beauty Shot right to the mush of Rawley picking up the 1-2-3. The crowd seemed quite into the match and it struck me as a better match to open the show than the one we got last week. I’ll give it an even *** Winner: Tyler Breeze
Backstage we go now and Jersey’s Finest are standing in their locker room in full on hype mode. Enzo is easily one of the best talkers NXT has right now and he once again shines here as he promises to start his roll tonight as he takes on Aiden English. Big Cass said that there was an order handed down that both he and Simon Gotch are banned from ringside for tonight. Enzo says that’s SAWWWFT but he’ll pick up the W and they’ll go out to celebrate after. How you doin’?
Enzo Amore Vs Aiden English Enzo and English is up next actually and the match itself was a short one but was good for what it was. Enzo had English in some dire straits, looking to finish English off when the lights went out. When they came back on, The Ascension was in the ring and they anhi-ya-lated both English and Amore and posed over their unconscious body. Big Cass and Simon Gotch came running out to form a sort of uneasy alliance but they too met a similar fate as Amore and English. The Ascension leave the ring with their heads held high. If this is a sign of the Tag Team scene here in NXT, sign me up! **1/2 Winner: No Contest
Sami Zayn is all up in my screen now and he’s being interviewed by Byron Saxton. Saxton asks Zayn if he plans on playing it safe tonight against Prince Devitt to conserve his energy for the NXT Title match at Takeover. Zayn says he wouldn’t be much of a superstar if he did that. Zayn says he does this because he loves what he does and he loves the fans. He’s never done anything half assed before and he certainly isn’t going to start tonight.
Prince Devitt Vs Sami Zayn With that being said we have Devitt Vs Zayn in what can only be described as an internet fans wet dream. I know when I heard it announced I could hardly contain my excitement. This match was everything I ever wanted it to be. It was back and forth, tightly contested old school badass wrestling. Zayn nailed Devitt with the Blue Thunder bomb but Devitt kicked out. Zayn then set up Devitt for the Helluva Kick but as Zayn was rushing in, Devitt dropped to his knees and caught Zayn with a low blow. Devitt then picked up Zayn only to drop him again with the Bloody Sunday. After the match Devitt added some insult to injury by picking up the limp hand of Zayn and shaking it. From out of the back though rushed KENTA who chased Devitt from the ring. KENTA legitimately looked ready to kill Devitt but he may have to wait to get his hands on the Real Rock N’ Rolla. ***1/2 Winner: Prince Devitt
However KENTA wouldn’t have to wait quite so long for tonight’s opponent as Corey Graves came out onto the stage with a microphone in hand. Graves stops Devitt at the top of the ramp and asks him to stay out here and watch the match. Graves says that he was born to be the NXT Champion and Graves wants Devitt to have a good look at the fruits of his labor from the attack earlier tonight. However unlike Devitt who was only able to put KENTA down, Graves promises that when he’s done with him, KENTA is going to stay down.
Winner Enters the NXT Championship match at Takeover Corey Graves Vs KENTA And with the talking out of the way we’ve got ourselves a main event. Corey Graves takes on KENTA with the winner of the match getting the chance to face off with Sami Zayn to determine the new NXT Champion at Takeover. Both men pull out all of the stops with KENTA looking to take out all of his frustration that should be directed towards Devitt on Corey Graves. With every kick KENTA threw he looked back at Devitt as if to say “this one’s for you, and so is this one… and this one” however at one point KENTA took his eyes off Graves for a second too long as Graves responded with a kick of his own. Graves locked in Lucky 13 but KENTA refused to tap out and eventually got his way to the ropes. As the match was winding down, KENTA had Graves in his sights to hit the running knee however Devitt found himself getting too close to the ring as instead of going for the running knee, KENTA instead opted to take Devitt out with one hell of a suicide dive. KENTA rolled back into the ring only to be taken down by a rejuvenated Corey Graves who proceeded to lock in Lucky 13 again this time for the submission victory. I can safely say that this was one of the best wrestling matches I’ve seen from North American televised wrestling thus far this year. Amazing. I can’t wait to see these two go at it again sometime in the near future. ****1/2 Winner: Corey Graves
And that’s the show ladies and gentlemen. I cannot wait until Takeover this Saturday night just with the few matches we know we’re going to get. Sami Zayn Vs Corey Graves is going to be fantastic no doubt about it and I’ll be happy with whoever wins the title. And if Devitt Vs KENTA happens at the event then that will be incredible as well. Add that to the potential triple threat tag team match and possibly a women’s match and this writer thinks you’ll be in for one helluva show.
But what do I know? I’m Justin Tyme. I do know I’ll be tuning in. I’ll see you guys back here on Saturday. Until then, BALLYHOO!

NXT NEWSWIREGreetings once again ladies and gentlemen, my name is Reo Speedwagon and I’m here once again to bring you up to speed with all of the latest news in the world of NXT wrestling. NXT Takeover is taking place this Saturday night and what a lineup they have planned. Let’s go some of the bigger matches scheduled for the event For starters, NXT will crown a new NXT Tag Team Champion at Takeover as there will be a triple threat match for the tag team titles. As you saw on NXT TV on Thursday, both Enzo Amore and Aiden English as well as their respective tag team partners were left laying by a vicious beating from The Ascension. We’ve now learned that at Takeover it will be Jersey’s Finest Vs The Vaudevillains Vs The Ascension for the NXT Tag Team Titles In other championship news, newly crowned NXT Women’s Champion Emma has to defend her Women’s Championship not only against the woman who she beat for the title in Paige but also against two generational divas in Natalya and Charlotte. One of the most anticipated matches is a match being advertised as an International Clash but this writer has a feeling that the bad blood is starting to get a little deeper than that as Prince Devitt takes on KENTA in what will most assuredly be an all-out war to prove who is among the best international talent NXT has to offer And in the main event we will see the NXT Champion crowned as fan favorite Sami Zayn takes on the Savior of Misbehaviour Corey Graves in a match that will be sure to burn the place to the ground or blow the roof off. Both men won qualifying matches to get to this point with Zayn beating Tyson Kidd and Graves besting KENTA on Thursday. One of these men will walk out of NXT Takeover with gold around their lists anointed as the future of professional wrestling. The full card can be viewed here and don’t forget to check out NXT Takeover’s official theme song which can be heard right here: NXT Takeover Saturday, September 13th, 2014NXT ChampionshipSami Zayn Vs Corey Graves NXT Women's Title Match Fatal 4 WayEmma Vs Paige Vs Natalya Vs Charlotte International ClashPrince Devitt Vs KENTA NXT Tag Team ChampionshipThe Ascencion Vs Amore and Cassidy Vs The Vaudevillans CJ Parker Vs Kalisto

Alright, not a terrible format here but I think I might change it up a bit more. Maybe add some color or change the font, just something a little bit different rather than being kind of just there. I'm not completely in love with the format, but I get that it is somebody doing kind of a write up review of the show. Anyway, moving on to the actual show. Having Prince Devitt vs KENTA be a thing is awesome, honestly. Not sure if I'd dive right into it, but it'd still be awesome. Seeing Tyler Breeze win is for the best, although I'm afraid of what will happen to him if he gets to the main roster. Good to see a tag team division being built, as well as Devitt getting the win. I'm not a big fan of KENTA submitting in the main event, albeit a great match. I just don't think it works well going into a big match with Devitt (if it happens). A solid show overall, I just really didn't care for the decision in the main event.

Greetings ladies and gentlemen and welcome to an especially important NXTGeneration report as I bring you live, up to the minute results of NXT Takeover live from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. For those who haven’t been following along the last two weeks, NXT looks to bring to you one of the most action packed, solid from top to bottom cards that you will find on televised wrestling. The main event is set to crown a NEW NXT Champion as Corey Graves takes on Sami Zayn in what will surely be a hell of a match. Elsewhere on the card, “The Real Rock N’ Rolla” Prince Devitt goes one on one against KENTA in what has rapidly become a fiercely personal war between two future stars that want to prove themselves worthy of being deemed the Next International Superstar. With all of that hubbub out of the way, let’s get to the real ballyhoo!
Oh I almost forgot, NXT Takeover’s theme song is “Do You Wanna Start A War” by Fozzy which I recommend giving a listen to, you can check it out here:
Before the event begins we get an interview filmed earlier today as Sami Zayn was rolling up to the arena. NXT’s resident journalist stops Sami before he enters the locker room for a few words. Saxton asks Zayn what the night means to him. Sami responds saying that this night will define his future. He would love nothing more than to walk out of Full Sail tonight as NXT Champion but he knows it’s going to be a “much easier said than done” type of scenario. Zayn says he fully expects to have to endure a war with Corey Graves but at the end of the day, the NXT fans will have a champion that will hold that title with honor and integrity.
CJ Parker Vs Kalisto The opening contest for NXT Takeover was more of a showcase bout between two individuals who had yet to make their presence really felt on NXT TV. Kalisto fought a losing battle two weeks earlier against Prince Devitt and CJ Parker has not appeared on TV yet. Both men feeling like they have something to prove looked poised to pull out all the stops to put on one hell of an opening contest. That is until Tyson Kidd, who has bestowed upon himself the title The Black Hart which he has borrowed from Owen Hart, came down to the ring and brought this match to an abrupt end, laying in a beating on both CJ Parker and Kalisto. After disposing of both competitors, Kidd grabbed a mic. Kidd says that it’s ridiculous that Sami Zayn is in the main event for the NXT title... fact. He says that it’s even more ridiculous that he doesn’t have a match on the first live event in NXT history... fact. He finishes by saying that until NXT management realizes what an important asset he is to the company and put him into title matches that more matches are going to end just like this... fact. Kidd then drops the mic and heads to the back. The match was short with Kidd coming in and putting a halt to it about six minutes in but I liked where it was going. I’ll give it **1/2 for what it was. Result: No Contest through Interference
Backstage we go and Jersey’s Finest are attempting to hype themselves up for the opportunity of their careers. They say that The Vaudevillains and The Ascension are nothing like themselves. Amore says that him and Big Cass are already huge stars that take meteor showers. The other two teams? They’re just S-A-W-F-T.... you get the picture.
NXT Tag Team Championship Jersey’s Finest Vs The Ascension Vs The Vaudevillains Speaking of the Tag Team Championship match, that’s what we’ve got served up for you now and, in case you weren’t keeping score at home, it’s a Triple Threat Tag Team match featuring Jersey’s Finest Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy versus The Ascension versus The Vaudevillains. The rules of the match was that a member of each team was in the ring at all times and it was one fall to a finish. English and Amore formed a sort of uneasy partnership with each other to soften (or is it SAWFTen) up Konnor from the get go. After Konnor was significantly battered however, English immediately set his sights onto Amore, attempting a quick roll up victory that Amore broke out of. From that point on it was every team for themselves. The finish came after English hit That’s A Wrap on Viktor but was immediately caught with a big running boot right to the mush from Big Cass who pinned English for the 1-2-3 crowning Jersey’s Finest as your NEW NXT Tag Team Champions. Amore and Cassidy celebrate in the ring with the titles. **3/4 I think the match would’ve been better served if it was just between two teams as the third team made it kind of a clustermuck. Result: And NEW NXT Tag Team Champions, Jersey’s Finest
We go backstage now as Byron Saxton is standing by with Corey Graves. Saxton mentions that Zayn said earlier that he promised the fans that they’d have a champion that fights with honor and respect. Graves cuts Saxton off saying that he wasn’t really concerned with whatever it was that Zayn had to say. He says that the fans don’t really matter to him and after he wins the NXT title tonight they will have to live with a champion that misbehaves and will retain the title by any means necessary. Graves then says if Zayn thinks he has the answer to the Corey Graves question, Graves is going to change the question on Zayn tonight. The only thing he can recommend is that Sami would be better suited if he just stayed down.
KENTA Vs Prince Devitt We’re gearing up now for what could very well be one of the best wrestling matches any off has seen in quite some time as “The Real Rock N’ Rolla” takes on the incomparable KENTA. The match starts off fast and furious with Devitt and KENTA exchanging slaps in the center of the ring. KENTA catches Devitt early with a kick to the stomach before taking off to the ropes. Coming back off the ropes, KENTA attempts to end the match early with a running knee that Devitt had well scouted. Devitt takes advantage of the miscue and attempts a pin that only gets a one. KENTA gets back to his feet as he and Devitt stare each other down. They engage in a collar-elbow tie up with Devitt forcing KENTA back into the corner. The referee calls for a clean break but he doesn’t get such thing as Devitt gives KENTA a slap to the face. This just served to anger KENTA who explodes out of the corner with a running thrust kick. Devitt rolls out of the ring but he quickly finds out there is nowhere in or around the ring that is safe as KENTA rushes him with a crazy suicide dive. KENTA decides he doesn’t want a count out win and instead opts to roll Devitt in for a pin attempt although the Real Rock N’ Rolla somehow gets his shoulder up at 2. KENTA picks Devitt up by his hair and shoots him off to the ropes. Devitt comes back and ducks a clothesline by KENTA. Devitt holds onto the ropes as KENTA tries for a spinning wheel kick that misses. Devitt waits for KENTA to get on his hands and knees before delivering a kick to the ribs. Devitt goes for a pin attempt that once again is only good for two. Devitt looks to lock in Devitt’s End but KENTA scrambles to the ropes breaking the hold. KENTA rolls under the bottom rope and sits on the apron in an attempt to recover but Devitt comes roaring back with a dropkick to the back of KENTA. Devitt builds up steam and hits a HUGE somersault suicide senton on KENTA but both of them got the best of that move, as they’re both out of it. The referee starts his count and gets up to 8 before Devitt and KENTA both roll their way back into the ring. Devitt kicks KENTA in the chest which serves to fire him up. KENTA responds with a kick of his own. The two trade kicks back and forth until KENTA finally absolutely obliterates Devitt with a thrust kick. KENTA once again sets up for the running knee, he stalks Devitt in the corner as Devitt slowly gets back to his feet. As though having a sixth sense, Devitt rolls out of the ring again to avoid the certain ending. KENTA once again goes for a suicide dive but this time Devitt scouted it and avoided the collision. Or so he thought. KENTA stopped himself from the dive and instead exited the ring and stood right behind Devitt. When Devitt turned around he was met with the biggest slap to the mouth he’s probably ever felt. KENTA just started unloading on Devitt from this point, throwing Devitt into the barricades and tossing him into the ring steps. KENTA was so focused at this point on destroying The Irish Prince that he forgot all about the referee’s count. The ref reached 10 as both competitors were brawling up the ramp and called the match a draw. The crowd didn’t even seem to notice that the match was over as KENTA continued to lay into Devitt up to the stage. KENTA then hoisted Devitt up onto his shoulders and proceeded to attempt GTS. Devitt blocked the knee, hooked KENTA’s arm and caught him with Bloody Sunday on the steel entrance ramp leaving KENTA out cold. Devitt looked out to the crowd and did the ol’ brush of the hands taunt before leaving to the back as medical trainers rushed out to check on KENTA. That was a bloody incredible match it’s just a shame that it didn’t end cleanly but that just means that these two have to fight again somewhere down the road and if I had to bet money on it I’d wager on the next big NXT event at the end of the year. ****1/2 Result: No Contest through Double Count-Out
Whew. I’m exhausted. Thank god they built in a bit of a cool down as they go backstage to Paige who was with Byron Saxton. Saxton asked Paige how she planned on going about exacting revenge on Emma for beating her to become the NXT Women’s Champion while also keeping an eye on Natalya and Charlotte. Paige states that it doesn’t really matter how many women are put into the match, at the end of the day there is only one that truly deserves to be the NXT Women’s Champion. Nothing can stop Paige from climbing to the top of the mountain, not Natalya, not Charlotte and try as she might, Emma can’t stop her either.
NXT Women’s Championship Emma (c) Vs Paige Vs Natalya Vs Charlotte
I feel so bad for these girls as they are all incredible in ring athletes but they just got handed the shortest straw on this particular night being sandwiched in between what was a surefire MOTY candidate and what will likely be another MOTY candidate. Though that’s not to say they shouldn’t take this opportunity to prove themselves as all eyes are on them right now. The match starts with Paige going right after Emma with a cheap shot right after the bell sounds. Emma staggers back but fires back with a kick to Paige’s stomach and the brawl is under way. Nattie and Charlotte start in on one another as well and for a good chunk of time it almost seems like two separate matches are happening. Paige and Emma spill out to the floor as Charlotte starts choking Natalya in the corner with her boot. Charlotte drags Natalya away from the ropes and attempts a pin but Nattie kicks out at one. Charlotte attempts to pick Natalya up but Nattie breaks Charlotte’s grip and starts firing forearm shots right into Charlotte’s mush. Outside of the ring, Paige throws Emma viciously into the barricade. These ladies are trying their damndest here and they are doing stuff you don’t typically see in women’s wrestling. Natalya irish whips Charlotte into the ropes as Paige pulls the top rope down from the outside of the ring which causes Charlotte to take a vicious spill to the outside of the ring. Paige enters the ring and squares off with Natalya. Paige gives Natalya a shove which didn’t go over too well with Nattie who responded with a HUGE discus clothesline. Nattie tries for a pin but Emma crawls back into the ring to break up the count. Emma picks Natalya up and backs her into the corner. Emma turns around to play to the crowd for a moment but it was a moment too long as Paige has now got to her feet and delivers a vicious headbutt to Emma. Emma is out on her feet as Paige sets her up and delivers a big Fisherman’s suplex into a pin. Paige almost gets the three but Charlotte comes in and breaks up the pin. Natalya comes back into the fray and proceeds to clothesline Charlotte back over the ropes. Natalya gives chase to the fellow generational diva outside of the ring. Inside, Paige begins to stalk Emma again as she begins to set up for the Scorpion Cross Lock. Emma manages to scout the move however and turns over feeding boots to the face of Paige. Paige stumbles back towards Emma who is now on her feet. Emma shoots a double leg takedown and delivers a catapult to Paige. Emma transitions it into the Emma-lock with Paige struggling to not tap out. Natalya and Charlotte who were still battling outside of the ring notice the submission predicament that Paige is in and both race to enter the ring to break the hold but they are too late as Paige reaches her breaking point and has to tap out. Emma retrieves her Women’s Championship from the time keeper and proceeds to dance with her fans around the ringside area as Paige, Natalya and Charlotte are left sitting in the ring stunned. I’d give this a solid *** just for the effort they put in in trying to follow the match they had to follow. Result: And STILL NXT Women’s Champion, Emma
NXT Championship Sami Zayn Vs Corey Graves And finally it’s MAAAAAAAIN Event time and it is to determine who will be the NXT Champion. Sami Zayn is out first to a huge pop from the Florida crowd. He slaps a few hands before rolling into the ring, trying to stay fully focused on the task at hand. Corey Graves received a much less warm welcome from the fans however it didn’t seem to faze Graves at all who saunters to the ring. He displays the tattooed “Stay Down” on his knuckles to Sami Zayn as the bell rings to begin this contest. Zayn goes in for a collar and elbow tie up with Graves but he’s met with a straight punch to the jaw and a roll up by Graves. Zayn kicks out almost immediately but it becomes apparent to Zayn early on that he may not be in store for a traditional wrestling match. Zayn gets back to his feet and stares Graves down. Graves gives Zayn a pie face shove to which Zayn responds with a kick to the gut. Zayn bounces off the ropes and comes back with a missile dropkick to the head of the doubled over Graves. Zayn goes for the pin and gets a two. Zayn, not wanting to let up, picks Graves up and forces him into the corner. Zayn climbs to the second turnbuckle and starts laying in the corner punches. Zayn gets to about 6 before Graves hooks Zayn’s legs and delivers a powerbomb from out of the corner. Graves immediately tries for a cover but only gets two. It’s apparent that these two want to finish the other one off as quickly as possible. Graves looks to lock in Lucky 13 but Zayn scouts it and immediately scrambles to the ropes. Zayn then rolls under the ropes and gets to his feet. Zayn looks poised to hit a springboard move of some sort but as he jumps onto the top ropes, Graves sweeps Zayn’s right leg and Zayn goes crashing to the floor. Graves wastes little time going after Zayn outside of the ring. Graves rams Zayn into the ring apron three times before rolling him back in the ring. Graves attempts a cocky pin, not even hooking the legs but Zayn kicks out at one. Graves begins to pick Zayn up but Zayn breaks Graves’ grip and delivers an enziguri to the back of Graves’ head. The crowd climbs to their feet as he starts to fire himself up. Graves begins to pull himself up into the corner as Zayn sizes him up for the Helluva Kick. Zayn comes barrelling in but at the last second, Graves pulls the referee into the corner in his stead and receives the brunt of Zayn’s kick to the head. Sami can’t believe what he did and immediately starts to check on the referee, taking his eye off of Graves who pulls out a pair of brass knuckles out of his gear. Zayn turns around and Graves goes to wallop Sami with the knucks however Zayn ducks the punch and delivers the Blue Thunder Bomb onto Graves. He has Graves pinned for what seems like an eternity but the referee is still unconscious. Zayn relinquishes the pin and goes to try and stir the referee again. From seemingly out of nowhere, Prince Devitt entered the ring and began stalking Zayn. Zayn turns around, sensing something was amiss however was not prepared as Devitt kicks Zayn in the stomach, hooks the arm and delivers Bloody Sunday to Zayn knocking him out cold. Devitt then rolls out of the ring out of the view of the referee who has finally begun stirring. Graves notices that Zayn has been laid out some how and picks up the scraps, turning Zayn over and locking in Lucky 13. Zayn holds out for as long as he could which seemed like an eternity but finally Zayn had to tap out. The referee calls for the bell and your NEW NXT Champion is the Savior of Misbehavior, Corey Graves. This was an incredible match with a dirty ending that I just can’t help but let put a damper on things. Plus it wasn’t quite as good as KENTA/Devitt. **** Result: And NEW NXT Champion, Corey Graves
The ref hands the belt to Graves as Devitt rolls into the ring. He shakes Graves hand before raising his hand in victory as they pose over the downed Sami Zayn. But that wouldn’t be the right way to end the show because the crowd erupts as KENTA comes barrelling down the ramp chasing the new champion and his new found associate from the ring. KENTA helps Zayn to his feet as the two men in the ring stare down Graves and Devitt who make their way back up the ramp to safety as the show comes to an end.
And there you have it folks! NXT’s first live event and what an incredible event it was. The next one is 3 months away and I have a feeling that we’ll see some form of Devitt/KENTA/Zayn/Graves in 3 months time. But until then stay tuned to NXT TV every Thursday!

The opening was kind of eh, but Tyson Kidd interrupting the match out of anger and hinting towards more no contest made things interesting. I look forward to seeing how far Tyson Kidd's frustrations boil. Jersey's Finest as NXT Tag Team Champions is fine, I hope you can make the tag team division interesting and exciting with them Cassidy and Amore as champions. I hope there are more matches as good as the first one in Kenta and Devitt's feud. Emma retaining against 3 other divas in a Fatal 4 Way was good, but I really don't think Natalya should be in NXT due to the fact that she's been a WWE Divas Champion, basically meaning that she's been at the top of the Divas division, and having her compete for the NXT Woman's Championship looks like a step down the ladder for Natalya, now back to Emma as champion. I hope Paige continues her hunt for the Woman title and gets another opportunity against Emma, especially since she tapped out to Emma twice. Corey Graves winning the NXT title is ok with me, and with Kenta and Devitt getting involved with Graves and Zayn, the NXT Championship scene looks very good right now.
NXT Takeover was a great event, and NXT is looking very good at the moment. Can't wait for the next fallout show of Takeover.
