| Former WWF President has purchased the second biggest wrestling promotion in the world. He left the WWF in 1995, Gorrilla Monsoon became the on-screen president following Jack's departure. Jack Tunney had this to say about the recent acquisition. "I hope to not only help improve the product, but grow and offer a better product than our competitors." WCW Monday Nitro in TN-Mid-South Coliseum The event drew 10,085. And got a 4.59 on Nitro, which beat Raw who received a 3.40 on the USA Network.
Bret Hart Meets The Bad Guy | Following the signature Monday Night Nitro intro plays as the crowd explode in excitement. A video plays recapping the nWo's dominance over the rest of the WCW roster. The video ends as the camera pans towards the ring. Bret Hart is in the middle of the ring holding his microphone. Bret Hart begins to talk about his storied career, and how he'll overcome the odds of the nWo to become the World Heavyweight Champion. "I've been wrestling all of my life, I've faced against the grandest of them all. And here in the WCW it will be no different! I'm the best there is, the best there was and the best that there will ever be!" Bret Hart is soon interrupted by a familiar face. Scott Hall, an enemy to the WCW crowd walks through the entrance way, smiling as the crowd boo's relentlessly. He slides into the ring and the two go back and forth. "Hey yo. Bret. You claim to be the best there is, but you've never been the best in the WCW. The best is Hollywood Hogan, the World Champion. What have you done in the WCW chico? Nada." Bret Hart quickly responds and is upset by Hall's remark. "I've paid my dues in this industry, I can hold my own against every man in this industry, and if you think i'm not cut for this, how about you and me dance tonight?" Bret Hart drops the microphone as Scott Hall chuckles, spitting out his tooth pick. And he nods his head. The commentators hype the match as the main-event as a graphic appears. |
The Giant & Luger vs. The Steiner Brothers | The Giant & Lex Luger defeated The Steiner Brothers in 8:26 for the Tag Team Championship. The match was very close and very back and forth, The Steiner Brothers often found themselves pinning out of desperation, but they couldn't overcome the size of The Giant. Lex Luger ultimately got the finishing blow on Rick Steiner via the Torture Rack. Scott Steiner out of pity left the apron as soon as his brother Rick was hit by the submission. Scott shook his head and continued up the aisle as the fans booed him out for leaving his brother to tap. Surprisingly Rick Steiner fought through most of the match, with Scott only getting two minutes inside the ring. The Giant & Luger raise the titles as they're given a loud pop for their efforts. |
Hogan Promo | Hollywood Hulk Hogan appears backstage with Mean Gene Okerland. "Hollywood, how do you feel going up against Sting at this upcoming Starrcade?" Hogan smiles, spewing charisma as he grabs the microphone. "Hollywood mania is running wild tonight! I knew once I became champion that the big dogs would be coming after me. Sting isn't a big dog! The nWo created the Stinger! Before we took over, Sting was nothing, and you know what Mean Gene, I'm ready and I've got a chip on my shoulder." Mean Gene responds. "What makes you so confident? Sting has been tormenting the nWo since his return! And tonight he will be taking on Kevin Nash your commander in arms!" "Sting can't compete with the biggest pythons in the world brother! I'll give him a run for his money AGAIN. I'm the World Champion. Not Sting, I fought my way to the belt, that means i'm the best there is! The Hulkster can't be compared to anyone else in the WCW. I'm the man!" Hogan lifts the World Heavyweight Championship and smiles while pointing at him. He begins to shout at the camera disregarding Mean Gene. "STING, STARRCADE WILL BE THE DAY THE CROW DIES BROTHER!" |
--Commercial Break--Curt Hennig vs. Chris Benoit | Following the commercial break Curt Hennig and Chris Benoit are in the ring. The two square off in a non-title match, the match was highly technical and the fluidity and full of back and forth action. Curt Hennig defeated the young Benoit with a Perfect Plex in 8:49, Chris Benoit had a strong performance and hit a double German Suplex which surprised the crowd. Both men came out looking strong but ultimately the champion rose above the younger Benoit. |
Backstage Segments | Randy Savage is seen in the aisle walking towards the entrance ramp. Elizabeth accompanies him and the chemistry between the two lifted the segment. Savage popped the crowd. The camera then pans away to Ric Flair who electrifies the crowd with his microphone work. "The Nature Boy is out here to prove he's the best. And no man can even come close to the legend! The nWo are nothing compared to Ric and the horsemen. I can damn beat any man out there! I'm Ric Flair! The stylin', profilin', limosine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun!"
|
Booker T vs. Randy Savage | Randy Savage makes his entrance to a loud boo. His opponent, Booker T is already in the ring. The two have yet to face and many are excited to see who will pull through. The match begins as the two grapple and punch until Randy gets the advantage. Savage has the young Booker T in the palm of his hands, the main spot of this match was a missed signature Savage Elbow Drop. Booker T quickly moved out of the way and rolled Savage for the pin. But Booker only managed to get a two count. The match continues to go back and forth until Savage defeats Booker in 15:29 by pinfall. Elizabeth was eccentric at ringside and got major heat as she continued to distract Booker. The power couple celebrated Randy's victory over Booker. Elizabeth smiles and jumps off of the shoulders over Savage, which is quite rare. The fans are left in question as Savage begins to taunt over the downed Booker T. Savage slides down and begins to relentlessly pummel T with a fury of blows. Elizabeth smiles and cheers Savage on as the fans give the two major heat. The fans being to cheer as a familiar face comes running down the aisle. Ric Flair enters the ring surprising the crowd. Elizabeth backs off and Savage does as well. Flair and Savage face off with Flair knocking him out of the ring away from Booker. Savage walks towards the entrance stage with Elizabeth, the two pointing furiously at Flair. Flair is met with a huge pop as the camera pans out to black in a commercial break. |
--Commercial Break--Sting vs. Nash | The phrase "when a man's heart" flashes onto the screen, as the lights begin to flicker off and on. The fans give a massive pop as Stings theme begins to play, he ziplines from the rafters awaiting his upcoming bout. Kevin Nash walks down the entrance way sporting his typical nWo singlet, the fans boo him as he continues to walk disregarding the crowds reaction. The two eventually square off in a thrilling match-up. Kevin Nash is Hogan's right hand man, and a victory by Sting would definitely grow to the already huge message sent to Hogan. The match is a two out of three falls, meaning the best man wins. The match was very back and forth with Sting getting the first point by pinfall after a huge leg-drop mimicking Hogan. Nash quickly responded by getting a point after a massive jack-knife powerbomb which was followed by a quick pinfall. The match grew very tense but Sting pulled through. After knocking Nash onto his back Sting began to taunt and raised his arms, slowly pinning Nash sending a message to the entire nWo. The Referee counts to three and Sting wins in 13:15 two falls to one. |
Hart vs. Hall | After the two men make stunning entrances which captivate the audience, Bret Hart and Scott Hall find themselves locked in a bout. Both had formerly wrestled in the WWF but Hall has found more success in WCW then the newly debuted Hart. Hart felt he had a lot to prove and the fans were not disappointed. His technical style throughout the match was brilliant as Scott Hall often found himself in a dangerous lock. Still, Hall fought hard and showed his dominance in several parts of the match. Bret ultimately got the better of the highly competitive Hall once he locked Hall in a Sharpshooter. The crowd erupted as Hall tapped out and Bret Hart had become victorious. The match ended in 13: 23. After the match Hart had found himself surrounded by Hogan, Nash, and Hennig. Hart had no where to run and put up a fighting stance. The three nWo members slid inside the ring as Hall crawled to the turnbuckle. The three assault Hart who puts up a fighting effort, but once Hart's chances have diminished Sting, Ric Flair, and Lex Luger rush to aid Hart as the three nWo members begin to fend them off. More of the nWo come rushing down the aisle in numbers, such as Buff Bagwell, Konnan, and Scott Norton. Luger, Flair, Sting, and Hart have no choice but to retreat. The lights begin to flicker as they disappear leaving Hogan, Nash, and Hall angered inside the ring. The show fades to black as all three of them are angered waiting to get their hands on them. |

The match begins and it's a very fun match that highlights the cruiserweight division. Rey Mysterio Jr came out looking good as the audience was eletrified by his fast paced lucha libre style. Alex Wright brought heat to the high-flying Mysterio with lots of counters including catching a springboard splash, only to slam him down. Wright received a good amount of heat after that. Flair Country | The WCW Thunder theme and intro resonates throughout the entire arena as the crowd is on their feet, already hot from the two pre-show spectacles. The commentators talk about out main-event which is the young Buff-Bagwell, a stand-out in the nWo taking on the fan favorite veteran in Diamond Dallas Page. The cameras eventually pan to ringside to Ric Flair and Mean Gene Okerland who is conducting an interview. "Please welcome a thirteen time World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair! Why did you go out there and save Booker last week? You and Booker have had a history of rivalries throughout both of your careers, what made you do it?" "Wooo! Flair is right down the road from Flair Country here in Tennessee! Wooo! I saved Booker, because Savage did the wrong thing, Savage can't play with the big boys, but he damn thinks he can! Ric Flair did what he had to do for the WCW, for the fans, for the babes, and Savage is next in line to taste a sweet ole figure four leglock!" The fans go wild for the overly popular Flair who is a hometown hero, considering Charlotte, NC isn't too far away. "Thank you for that Ric Flair, do you have any other comments to add?" "Woo! Ric Flair is going to get that title from the nWo, Ric Flair is going to become a fourteen time World Heavyweight Champion! But first I've got to get rid of Savage. And that will come soon, wooooo! Randy thinks he's better then me, well he's mistaken, and if you've got a problem Randy, I'll beat you, then I'll take your wife home and make her say wooooooooooooooo!" The crowd is completely hot for the living legend. The camera pans to the commentary desk where they hype up the rivalry between the two and bring the audiences to speed. |
Regal & Guerrero vs. Benoit & Malenko | Benoit & Malenko make their way down the aisle to a decent pop as Ric and Mean Gene leave the ring. Benoit & Malenko have a unique chemistry between the two and it's very apparent on anything the two do. They slide in the ring awaiting their opponents. To the surprise of many the WCW Cruiserweight Champion Eddy Guerrero walks down the aisle along with the English snob in Steven Regal. The two are met with a good amount of heat as they slide into the ring and the match commences. Eddy and Malenko square off first, the two go very back and forth between grapples until Eddy uses his speed to knock Malenko out with a quick dropkick following an irish whip. Eddy goes for the pin placing his feet on the rope, the Referee doesn't see it and nearly counts to three but Benoit makes the save. Malenko tags in Benoit and now Eddy is on the defensive. Benoit has Eddy's number as he continues to punish him with his technical style. Eventually Steven Regal makes his way into the match and the pace is much more slowed down, with Regal occasionally using cheap shots such as a low blow and an eye pluck to Benoit. The fans give Regal a huge amount of heat as Benoit eventually tags Malenko in. Malenko counters Steven and the momentum in this match has swayed again. After a brutal clothesline Steven makes his way and hot-tags the Cruiserweight Champion. Eddy surprises the turned Malenko with an electrifying spring-board frogsplash. Malenko quickly drops and Eddy rolls him up for the pin in the middle of the ring. The Referee gives Eddy the three count as the fans booed the two. Eddy Guerrero & Steven Regal defeated Benoit & Malenko in 9:36. |
Goldberg vs. Perry Saturn | In a match that solely benefited Goldberg, Goldberg took on the Television Champion Perry Saturn. With Saturn's involvement in the Flock he was heavily booed as the intimidating monster Goldberg became the fan favorite. The match was fast paced as Saturn countered many of Goldberg's maneuver, but he was eventually pinned following a spear that made the entire audience explode. The match was very quick and Goldberg became the new Television Champion in 5:42 by pinfall following an explosive Spear. |
Backstage Savage & Bischoff | The camera pans backstage to where we see Randy Savage and Eric Bischoff. "What's up Randy?" "Here's the deal! If wasn't for Ric Flair, Booker T would be gone forever! I want Ric Flair as soon as possible, I'll tear another hole in him and unleash the madness! Ric Flair needs to be a taught a lesson, oh yeah, and Randy Savage is going to teach him that for insulting the nWo and getting in my way!" "Listen Savage, I'll do what I can alright, I'll see when we can get this match in." The segment ends with Randy shaking is head smiling. |
Main Event And Segment | Diamond Dallas Page makes his entrance down the aisle to begin the main-event. The crowd is on their feet for him as he gets inside the ring and does his signature taunt. Buff Bagwell's theme resonates throughout the arena as fans begin to boo, Buff begins to shout "NEW WORLD ORDER" as he makes his way inside the ring. The match starts off with the veteran DDP getting the advantage early on. DDP delivers a series of blows to the head which lights up the crowd. Buff uses his strength as an advantage and begins to grapple up, clenching DDP in a dangerous headlock. DDP pushes out and delivers a beautiful Diamond Cutter! The Referee begins to count, 1..2.. but Buff kicks out surprising the fans. The two continue to brawl back and forth until Buff delivers a low blow which he uses to pick DDP up. He cradles DDP and slams him down for a monstrous yellow jacket suplex! Buff rolls over DDP and gets the pin. The Referee counts to three as Bagwell won with a surprising victory. In 12:05. The cameras zoom in on Bagwell as he shouts and points to the locker room. "WE'VE GOT THE STINGER! HOGAN'S GONNA TEAR HIM APART!" The camera crew quickly run backstage to capture the altercation Hogan and Sting are both seen looking directly at eachother face to face. "Sting, brother. You're going down regardless, so why don't we teach you a little lesson. Don't mess with the nWo." Curt Hennig and Scott Hall are seen behind Hogan and Bret Hart and Roddy Piper are seen behind Sting. Sting doesn't say a word as he clenches up his bat and brings it closer. Everyone gets in a fighting stance as Sting delivers a massive blow to Hogan which brings him to his knees. Sting gives a fury of punches as road agents and nearly the entire backstage crew have to pull the two groups from each other. Hulk Hogan begins to shout once restrained "I'll kill you brother! You're going to die out just like the rest of WCW!" The camera pans out back to Buff as the segment has ended. Buff is surprised and is shaking his head as DDP rises back onto his feet. "It's me, it's DDP!" He shouts as he hits Buff with a Diamond Cutter leaving him down and out in the middle of the ring. "WCW WILL WIN!" He shouts out as the show fades to black. |

ahhh WCW 1997. Nice to see someone starting a good tradition with the Monday Night Wars. Love the feuds between Sting/Hogan. Flair/Savage. Hall/Bret. I'm really looking forward to see some of your good stuff. Leave a reply to my WWF 93/94.

I'm not a huge WCW guy, but I'm going to give this a chance. I like your format, even though it could use more spacing and maybe a little more distinction in the match descriptions between post-match and in-match stuff. That's about all I would change with it. Anyway, I'll get more in depth with replies as I chug along getting used to what is going on within the business. nWo versus WCW was always something major, though, and I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

La Parka vs. Kidman | To kick off the show fans were greeted with an interesting match-up between the high flying La Parka and the brooding Kidman. The match started by favoring La Parka who continually delivered a fury of high flying kicks. Kidman eventually responded as the two went back and forth between grapples, Kidman got the advantage and put La Parka in a headlock. La Parka was sent running for an irish whip which he reversed with a big knee to the head and to top it off he hit a stunning DDT which sent Kidman straight to the ground. La Parka got up onto the top-rope which elevated everyone in the arena, he spun and hit his finisher, the amazing Skytwister Press! La Parka defeated Kidman in 8:50 by pinfall with a Sky Twister Press. |
Cruiserweight Fatal Four Way | Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio Jr vs. Chris Benoit vs. Eddy Guerrero commenced. The bout was very high flying and Benoit and Jericho brought technical aspects into the match as well. The match also brought interest into the division. Highlights of the bout were Rey Mysterio's amazing athleticism, in which he flipped over the top rope to hit Benoit. Another highlight was Eddy hitting the Three Amigos onto the much small Mysterio. But the match was very back and forth with several close false finishes. The match ended suspense fully as Chris Jericho made Benoit tap out to the Liontamer.Chris Jericho defeated Chris Benoit, Eddy Guerrero and Rey Mysterio Jr. in 11:45 when Chris Jericho defeated Chris Benoit by submission with a Lion Tamer. |
--Main Show-- Sting vs. Hogan Video | The live television broadcast commenced with a highlight video of the upcoming blockbuster between Sting and Hollywood Hogan. The match highlighted the stand off between the two on Thunder, as well as Sting's surprising victory of Kevin Nash. With the nWo facing its biggest challenge to date, will the World Champion prevail? Or will the Stinger, a man created by the hate of the nWo, mark vengeance? The segment hyped up the crowd for both the upcoming show and Starrcade as well. |
The nWo Speak! | The camera pans to the main members of the nWo, Hall, Hogan, and Nash. The fans give out relentless boo's as Hogan steps forward on the microphone. "Sting. Sting is a punk. He's getting in the way of something much much greater. Sure, he beat Nash. But Nash isn't Hollywood Hogan! I'm the World Champion brother! And if you couldn't beat me before what makes you think you'll have a chance at Starrcade? You can stand us off, do whatever you want to us, but the nWo will prevail no matter what! You pissed us off Sting, now you're going to taste the lethal sting of these pythons brother!" Hogan does his signature "I can't hear you" taunt as he passes the microphone to the eager Scott Hall. "Hey. Yo. Lots of people think they know the nWo, they think a couple of bedwetters can take down us. You see. We're greater than the WCW. Hogan has held that belt since August, and Hennig has held the United States championship since September! We're unbeatable, unstoppable, chico. And tonight I face the Stinger, and on behalf of the nWo, tonight will be the final breath Sting takes before his loss at Starrcade. Sting. Tonight I'll cripple you with no help, with no weapons, I'll beat you straight with a 1..2..3!" Hall passes the microphone to Kevin Nash as he taunts the crowd by raising his arm and smiling. "Last week Sting got the better of me on Nitro. On Thunder he released the animal. The beast. He got a low-blow on Hulk. Sting, we're a much bigger animal when we're angry. And tonight after your loss to Hall, we're going to end you before Starrcade, and we're going to send you through a table!" The three raise their arms in unison as the screen fades to black in a commercial break. |
--Commercial Break-- Hennig Title Defense | The camera pans back to the ring, where the commentators announce our first match-up, Curt Hennig will be defending his United States championship, against the foreign Steven Regal. The bout begins and the match is highly technical due to the two having similar styles. Hennig started off strong by putting Regal in tough locks to break out of, Hennig gave Regal a run for his money once he hit a dangerous belly to belly suplex onto the mat. Hennig began to stomp out regal, he got cocky, but Regal gave him a taste of his own medicine by reversing his furious kicks, he grabbed the leg of Hennig and placed him in a deadly ankle lock! Hennig eventually made it to the ropes, but Regal continued to dominate the latter half of this match-up by slamming Hennig onto the mat several times. The match turned tides again as Hennig reversed Regal's suplex into his own Perfect Plex! He soon rolled him up hoping to defend his title. The Referee slid and gave Hennig the three count. Curt Hennig makes defense number 1 of his WCW United States Heavyweight title in 12:07 by pinfall. Hennig continues to shout "I'M PERFECT!" as he celebrates in the ring with his newly defended title. |
Starrcade Match Announced! | The commentators discuss between each other the recent news of Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair, a long awaited grudge match between the two, will come to fruition at Starrcade in the form of a cage match! Heenan and Tenay placed bets on the ravenous Randy Savage, while Tony bet on Flair. The match could be anyone's game and these two legends are going to duke it out on the grandest WCW platform of them all in a cage! |
Savage Promo | The camera pans from the commentators desk to backstage, where Randy Savage is speaking on the microphone alone. "Woo! Ric Flair taking on the Macho Man! Randy is going to rip open his skull and feed him to the dogs, yea. Ric you've been wrestling a long time, so I have I. We've crossed paths a few times, but Starrcade will be your final hurrah. I told you not to mess with Randy Savage, but you didn't listen to me. I told you to stay away from the nWo. And know the nature boy has made his final mistake. In a cage match Ric has no where to go, no microphone to talk sh*t on. Nothing. Just the Macho Man and the Nature Boy. Tonight you'll eat your words. And Starrcade you'll leave this company. The Macho Man is going to cripple, maim and beat the living hell out of you from tonight on to Starrcade. This battle is heatin' up, ohhh yeah..The Macho Man is going to have your neck, and you better woooo to that!" Following Randy's promo Savage begins to crack his knuckles and walk away from the camera. |
--Commercial Break-- Booker & Bagwell vs. The Steiner Brothers | Following the commercial break Booker T & Buff Bagwell were both in the ring against The Steiner Brothers. Booker T and Buff obviously had a disconnect following Savage's assault on Booker, so the two avoided each other for most of the match, rarely tagging each other in. The Steiner Brothers also had a disconnect as they just recently lost the tag championship. The match was good, it was very contested and Booker T was explosive throughout. The two teams traded blows back and forth and the fans were into it. Booker T and Buff Bagwell closed up the match with a surprisingly dynamic tag team powerbomb onto Rick Steiner. Booker quickly shot up to the top rope and flipped over, leg dropping Rick Steiner in an explosive Harlem Hangover! Scott reminiscent to last weeks Nitro left ringside and began walking backstage. The fans booed him once more, as he left his brother become the victim. Booker T rolled up Rick Steiner and The Referee counted to 3. Booker T and Buff Bagwell defeated The Steiner Brothers in 12:11 when Booker T defeated Rick Steiner by pinfall with a Harlem Hangover. Following the match up the two avoided each other both going in a separate direction, but Booker dropkicked Buff once he was exiting the ring to a massive pop! |
Scott Hall's Agenda | Scott Hall is shown backstage with famed interviewer Mean Gene Okerland. "I'm here with one half of the former Tag Team Champions. Scott, what is the nWo's ambition up to Starrcade? And what will it be after, hypothetically Sting is gone?" "Yo, Mean Gene. The nWo is more than just a force, we want to control the WCW. We're going to change wrestling, for the better. We're here to change the sport, and Sting is just a punk in the way. Because tonight. Tonight marks a new era, the era of the past is gone. Sting will be no more. And tonight, Nash, Hogan, and I will reign victorious over the crippled body of Sting who is lifeless ontop of a broken table. You got that? Chico?" "Thank you for your response Scott Hall, but do you yourself have any idea on what your match-up is going to at Starrcade?" "Scott Hall doesn't need a match to be the star, but Scott Hall will get a match. And Scott Hall will win." The camera pans back over to the ring. |
Luger vs. Hart | The two are introduced and both are ecstatic to compete, the fans loved both competitors but favored Bret Hart. The match was very technical and featured multiple locks and near finishes. Bret Hart was the aggressor early on, taking the tag team champion to his very limits. Bret Hart utilized his vast array of wrestling knowledge by executing very cool technical maneuvers such as a Snapmare Driver, that was hit early on in the match. Luger got up and continued to fight and percerviere, the two would continue to trade blows, but Luger had an advantage due to his size and strength, and he found himself slamming the fan favorite multiple times. The match had an epic finish as Luger had Hart locked in the Torture Rack, but Hart countered and forced Luger onto the mat. Hart locked in the Sharpshooter to a standing ovation as Luger tapped! Bret Hart defeated Lex Luger in 10:42 by submission with a Sharpshooter. Following the match the two fan favorites approached each other and shook hands as a sign of respect, the fans ate it up and both men came out of the match looking like stars. |
--Commercial Break-- Flair Open Challenge | The show opens up once more with Ric Flair in the middle of the ring, wearing a fashionable black suit along with the microphone. He begins to speak, playing off the hype of the audience. "Wooo! We're hot tonight baby! But you know something. One day, you'll have to call it quits no matter how much you love what you do. Your body can't keep up, your aging. BUT I'M NOT THAT GUY! WOOOOOOOOOO! You see, Randy Savage is that man. He can barely hit his girl, but Ric Flair can hit it and quit it all night babyyyy! I'm locked in a date, tonight I've got one with a hot blonde, and at Starrcade I've got one with an aching old geezer. But until then, no one is on the Flair's schedule. So tonight, i'm challenging anyone in the back, to come out here and have a match me right now! Prove that you're made of some tough stuff, step inside the ring with the best, woooooooo!" "I'll do it!" Kevin Nash a main member of the nWo comes down the aisle way to no music, accepting Ric Flair's open challenge. "Ric. Tonight the only person that'll be saying woooo, is you in a hospital bed. So I suggest you take off that suit, so we can go right now." Kevin Nash walks closer as Flair responds. "The Nature Boy will be taking on Hollywood's boytoy here tonight! Kevin, Ric Flair is going to kick your ass!" Ric Flair quickly strips of his suit revealing his wrestling gear as Kevin Nash slides into the ring ready to go. |
Flair vs. Nash | The match began and the size difference was minimal to Ric Flair as he continued to pound Nash into the corner. Ric Flair was cocky, and it got the best of him as Nash could find fault in nearly everything Flair did, constantly countering and hitting dangerous maneuvers on Flair. But Flair had heart continued to go despite the odds that had been overwhelmingly stacked on him. The match was very enjoyable and had loads of great moments. Flair continued to attempt to grapple with the obviously bigger man, but Nash almost always reversed him. The final blow was a dangerous Jackknife powerbomb in which Flair attempted a top rope clothesline. Kevin Nash quickly countered and caught the incoming Flair, he slammed him hard onto the mat and the Referee began the three count. Kevin Nash defeated Ric Flair in 13:30 by pinfall with a Jacknife Power Bomb. After the match Nash celebrated as Flair laid motionless. Nash chuckled waving at the stage as Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan came running down the aisle. Randy had a chair in hand and Hogan came empty handed. The two took turns battering Flair as Nash held Flair so he couldn't escape. Randy delivered huge blows to Flair's face as he was left a bloody mess. Hogan constantly hit Flair with low blows. Soon Nash dropped Flair, but Hogan and Nash pinned him on the ground. Randy went to the top rope and hit a brutal elbow drop onto the bloody Flair. The three celebrated, receiving major heat from the entire arena. The EMT's had to put Flair on a stretcher and take him to the hospital. |
--Commercial Break-- Sting vs. Hall | The show pans into Scott Hall and Sting who are in the ring, ready to being their main-event bout. Scott Hall is getting major heat after the nWo's attack, even though he had no part in it. Sting was determined and just as the match was about to begin Sting pointed backstage as nearly the entire WCW roster was restraining the nWo from interfering. Scott Hall began to freak out inside the ring, Goldberg, Hart, Luger, and The Giant all received pops as they were the main restrainers. The match began with Sting smiling. Sting was aggressive from the start, hitting a brutal Lou Thesz press with a huge array of punches. Hall fought hard as well, he constantly reverted to "low-blow" strategies, as he plucked the eyes of Sting on multiple occasions. But Sting wouldn't let up, he delivered a brutal assault, hitting a Jackknife powerbomb reminiscent to Nash's. Then he hit a dangerous Leg Drop, also reminiscent of Hogan's. But Sting closed out the match with a dangerous Scorpion deathlock. Sting defeated Scott Hall in 8:47 by submission with a Scorpion Deathlock. The commentators were hyping Sting as he celebrated in the ring saying "could this be the end of the nWo?" It looks like Sting may single handely disband the entire stable!" Sting went out of the ring and searched for something under the apron, he brought out a table to the entire audiences surprise! He slid he table and himself inside the table inside the ring. The nWo, minus Savage, Nash, and Hennig, all came out running but were quickly met with an even bigger force, nearly the entire WCW! The two brawled but the WCW supporters quickly pushed the nWo back to the entrance stage away from the aisle. Sting picked Hall up onto his shoulders and slammed him through the table with massive force! The entire arena exploded as Hall lay lifeless. The WCW celebrated as Luger, The Giant, Hart, DDP, and Piper all joined Sting in the ring. They applauded Sting and lifted him on their shoulders. The crowd was insane as the commentators were as well. "STING JUST PUT HALL THROUGH A TABLE! STING IS GOING TO BE HOGAN'S BIGGEST OPPONENT YET! THE MINDGAMES CONTINUE, WHO WILL PREVAIL AT STARRCADE?" The screen faded to black with the face of Sting as the final image. |

A.J. says he's not a WCW guy, but I am, and I feel I have to weigh in on this.
First of all, the roster is missing A LOT of guys. This is a company that would ship around 170 wrestlers each week and use 20 of them on TV. Maggs, The Armstrongs, Valentine, Spicolli, Garza, Silver King, Norman Smiley, Nagata, Scotty Riggs, DiBiase, Duggan, Public Enemy, Eaton, Lizmark, the Villanos. There are more, a lot more.
Also, tag teams and stables missing. Where are the Horsemen? No Blue Bloods? No alliance between the Harts?
Thunder didn't debut until January and aired on Thursday, not Saturday. I should be seeing Saturday Night, Main Event and WorldWide on your schedule.
Jack Tunney, essentially just an on-air personality, purchasing a company that generated $500million in 1997? I can't even begin to stress how unrealistic the backstory is.
Your show format is odd. The shows seem very small with an emphasis on matches rather than angles. WCW at this time was very much angle-based in terms of it's main event and upper card talent, leaving the wrestling portion to the stars that could lift the crowd (cruiserweights, Malenko, Benoit, etc.). You're also missing segments in-between that would help break up the segments and make it seem like a genuine two-hour programme.
You've thrown out massive angles and continuity (well, you've not really offered a time-frame other than prior to Starrcade). Bret Hart's massive debut was non-existant, and Sting returned to the ring after a year of inactivity to beat Nash on Nitro?
I'd suggest research, a lot of it. Go back and watch some shows from the time period you're aiming for, read up on the angles and storylines going on and start to put your spin on them.

This is just the way my roster pack came with, a lot of the guys listed weren't essentially full timers and most had already retired. I pretty much left everything the way it was and started from December 1997. I understand that Jack Tunney is an on-air personality, I wasn't under assumption that an owner had to be completely realistic.
