No pure wrestling skill is never enough on its own to get to the next level great examples are perry Saturn and dean malenko, great technical wrestlers but they were missing the charisma mic skills and overall it factor Benoit Guerrero and Jericho had

Well Miz has held more WWE championships than Steamboat, Dibiase, Cesaro, Anderson, Malenko, Regal, & Mr Perfect combined, so... no.

A perfect example now is Cesaro, he is a great pro wrestler with little charisma. I'm surprised he's still in the WWE only because he doesn't really even wrestle a WWE style.

No, it's not enough. To me, it's more important to connect and get a reaction from the crowd than to be a great wrestler. Yeah they should have wrestling skills, but to me getting over and connecting with the crowd by your promos and what you do in the ring is more important.

Yeah they should have wrestling skills, but to me getting over and connecting with the crowd by your promos and what you do in the ring is more important. Exactly this. We've seen plenty of mediocre workers become big stars because they had great charisma. Very rarely have we seen a guy get over on pure wrestling skill alone. Chris Benoit seems like the exception to the rule, but he immediately fell back down the card because his character was one dimensional. Even guys like RVD and Jeff Hardy, who are horrible talkers but extremely exciting workers, had unique looks and personas, sort of that intangible x-factor. I'll take Ultimate Warrior over Bob Backlund every single day of the week, twice on Sunday.

TO get someone over as a wwe champion in WWE? In today's day and age that's certainly what it looks like to me. The current guys, to me have nothing that sets them apart.

That's a very small percentage of today's audience. -WMD
