What happened at Wrestlemania 20-22 with the choice of venues? I understand Wrestlemania XX at the Garden (to an extent) but attendance numbers for those Manias were drawing such little crowds compared to what WWE know they could attract. Why did WWE go with such small venues holding poor capacity for such an iconic show in 2004, 2005 and 2006? I just find it a bit odd, especially as Wrestlemania 17, 18 and 19 were big events in that sense. It would be like WM32 being held in a stadium where capacity is around 20,000 when WM has been in places holding 60-80,000 the last 8 years. Does anybody have any knowledge or have similar thoughts on this?

I don't know exactly why they moved back to normal arenas but I have heard that Vince McMahon doesn't want to ever have WrestleMania in a regular arena again. He wants it to feel like the SuperBowl.

I can understand them going to MSG for WrestleMania 20 due to the every ten years at MSG thing, but for 21 and 22 I don't know why. I was actually hoping for them to go back to MSG for WrestleMania 30, but I knew that was very unlikely.

Or something to thst effect The unofficial reason I heard was the WWE wanted to do WrestleMania XX to 22 to hold them in the cities that played host to WrestleMania 2. After WrestleMania 22, Vince McMahon made the call to hold WrestleMania is stadiums as opposed to arenas.

You are indeed correct. Some may crap on WrestleMania 23 but damn, such an awesome show. I don't mind the WWE doing stadium shows for WrestleMania each year. With next years taking place at Levi's Stadium, the WWE is bound to do something awesome.

I was actually at Wrestlemania 23, and it was my first (and only) ever live Wrestlemania I have done. So to me, Wrestlemania 23 will always hold a special spot in my heart for that reason alone. And it's actually the only Wrestlemania I own on DVD. I thought WM 23 was decent. Even if I never went to that one, I still think we got some good matches. The MITB match was great, the Batista vs. Taker match was one of the best matches in Batista's career. Cena vs. HBK was even good. People are just so quick to point out what they hate now in wrestling compared to what they actually like about it.

Thank god. Wrestlemania doesn't feel like Wrestlemania in arenas, it doesn't feel big at all. I'd honestly rather have no Wrestlemania than have Wrestlemania in an arena, it just ruins it
