TNA is living proof that Crash TV doesn't work in 2014.

Seeing as how they just signed a new TV deal, ratings aren't all that important to them right now... Getting people to sign up for the network IS.

I do think you have to do this from time to time, and even let the belt change hands sometimes on Raw. Otherwise it feels like now where you don't miss anything by not watching Raw one week, its too predictable. When they announce a title match on Raw we just watch for the wrestling but nobody actually believes for a minute the champ will lose

I'd rather see Lesnar steamroll some other competition if he were to wrestle on RAW. Lesnar vs Swagger, Big E, or even Ryback would all peak my interest. Guys who could put on a good match with Lesnar, but will never get a chance to face him on PPV.

Brock Lesnar costs six or seven figures per match.
A Brock Lesnar match on free TV that draws a bigger rating for one week when WWE's TV deal is already set = $0 extra revenue.
A Brock Lesnar match on network/pay-per-view = Lots more $ revenue.
This is why it's unlikely that Brock Lesnar will wrestle on Raw.

This here is the answer folks.....Unless something HUGE has changed with Lesnar's contract? Its simply not cost effective to have him wrestle on Raw

Because that's a Vince Russo thing to do.
The point of the weekly shows is to convince people to pay for the pay per views. If they give away title matches on free TV then why buy the PPV?
Not everything they did in the attitude era was a good idea or a positive influence on the business as a whole. In fact I think it's largely responsible for the stereotypes wrestling fans deal with.

Weekly shows have to build up to the big ones, the PPV's. If we had top, top tier matches on the weekly, it wouldn't make the PPV's worth buying as many would feel they're getting the same action every week and for a cheaper price.

I'd like to see one-off defenses on Raw, with a challenger that you know won't win but would put on a good match. It'd elevate the title (being defended in high-quality matches), get the champion over as a fighting champ, put over the underdog challenger, and get people to watch because some would say "that would be a good match" and you'd get a few that'd say "I wanna see [this guy] win!" I doubt it would happen during Lesnar's reign but if we got Lesnar/Sheamus or Lesnar/Cesaro, people would tune in.

Him vs Cesaro, Sheamus, BNB, etc. As title matches on Raw would have (and still could be) awesome.
