The only thing I would do differently, and it's not even that big of a deal, is add white dots to the eyes.

Who cares about nipples. It's creepy as hell and worrying when people put them on their customs. At least Mattel arent half-a**ing their way through everything here. We get new head sculpts, more than 3 different sized arms, more torso molds. (To my knowledge, Jakks had roughly 10, and I'm pretty sure Mattel has over 15.) We get authentic attires, bright colours, awesome accessories, and great looking faces as it is. Lips woul be over kill. I have a Basic 3? William Regal and because of the lips he looks like he's been munching watermelon for about an hour.

There's nothing creepy about nipples. You have them. Everyone in this thread has them. You have problems if nipples creep you out. DCUC Hawkman has them and it's not weird at all.

I couldn't care less. Sometimes Jakks painted the lips and it looked like lipstick. No thanks.

The more I thought about it the more I realized the staggering number of unique parts. I am in complete agreeance that I'd rather have those than painted lips. Or nipples for that matter, although the nipple comment was obviously played for laughs until people took it so serious.

Looking around my toy room, out of like 500 figures, the only ones I see right now with lip paint are some Jakks, E 8 Undertaker, and E1 CM Punk, basic Cryme Tyme, the first basic Khali, some DCDirect, and the basic AJ Lee figures.
If we're talking about tiny paint apps tho, the pink under E23 Undertaker's eyes is the best and should be on more figures, especially Punks.

Eventually we're going to be demanding figures with the feel of flesh, not knocking your idea but we demand so much details for our figures, when will it be enough? Hate to bring it up but the running change on HBK showed me how sad and demanding people are over body hair because "it's accurate". There's something going on subconsciously, "ooh... ooh... SHAWN!" idk! haha seriously though we need figures with accurate bulges.... in the correct scales.

I absolutely have to paint the lips and add the little white dots to the eyes on every single mattel I buy. I may also dry brush a lighter shade of color to hair, as it really makes it pop.
I can't say I'd rather have these details added in over better attire deco, since they are easy fixes for me (and it's kinda fun, anyway) but yeah, I have to or otherwise it bugs me until I do. I think some figures look terribly bland, almost lifeless until I paint them.

Honestly never even realized before this thread that there were no painted lips on mattels.
Really dosent bother me. Their headscans are top notch.

interesting, this thread got me curious and yes my figures from 2010-11 seem to have painted lips.

i'd rather focus on bigger problems like getting the kneepads on figs right or properly sized and colored tats first then some color on lips. and don't forget to fix qc with incorrectly placed legs and sealed waists
