I love McConaughey, but I don't want him in any type of superhero universe.. I would really like it to be Jared Leto, but Ewan McGregor or Jake Gyllenhaal would be fantastic. That's a tough decision.. I think McGregor would knock it out of the ing ball park, but I can also see Gyllenhaal absolutely killing it. These are solid choices tho, they're definitely heading in the right direction after losing Phoenix..

I would be fine with either JG or Ewan to be honest. Both are GREAT choices.....so intrigued by this movie and where it can take us. bet it will be filled with easter eggs for other supernatural/paranormal characters. Man Thing was already mentioned on AOS.......
on the subject of Avengers 3/4/Thanos/cast members......I will be fine with all of this and its extension ouwards as long as the end game features an Avengers team that features Cap, Thor, IM & Hulk.
I wonder has Evans had a change of heart behind the scenes about his retirement?

Just rewatched Winter Soldier last night and was wondering if they're going to do something with the main Hydra swat guy, the one Falcon was fighting near the end of the movie, it looked like he got killed by the falling HeliCarrier but they made a point of having paramedics look at him and put an oxygen mask on him in the closing montage of the movie.

And Jake Gyllenhall would be an awesome Strange. I don't really like McGregor for the part, even though I'm a fan. Ethan Hawke is definitely a guy I could get behind for the role as well but seems like a bit of a dark horse at best.

I just don't think in 2014 Ethan Hawke has any type of star power to pull together a franchise. People kinda knew who Iron Man was with Robert Downey Jr, but people have no freaking clue who Doctor Strange is..
Not to mention Downey swims laps around Ethan Hawke when it comes to charisma and acting ability... And looks, RDJ is a good lookin' man.
And now that I've thought about this for a little while, I want Doctor Strange to be Jake Gyllenhall.. He's been working real hard and has improved tremendously over the past few years, and this Marvel deal could be his next stage big break.. He's young, he can act, and he's a big enough name at this point and time to become the next cornerstone.. Doctor Strange could skyrocket him to another level.

Hey guys, not posted for a while as I've been busy with work. I'm really excited with everything that's happening in the MCU, Civil War is going to play out perfectly.
I think this will ultimately lead to the Thanks battle. By Avengers 3, if not sooner, Thanks is going to see that as a team, the Avengers are broken, making it the perfect time for him to strike.
It'll also be a good way for the Avengers to reunite.
Also, I don't know if the CW story will play out exactly as the comics as pretty much all of the Avengers are known to the world so it could be difficult playing out the whole 'identification' storyline.

Ryan Gosling is now apparently in talks for the Strange role, but also rumored to be in DC's Suicide Squad, so we'll see how that works out.

I like pretty much all of the contenders for the Dr. Strange role but I guess I would most want Jared Leto.
I don't think I ever answered the poll question for this thread so I will now.
The Phase 3 movie I most look forward to is Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
I am really looking forward to all of them except Ant-Man although I'm sure I will still see it.

I also do not want Ryan Gosling to play Doctor Strange..
I'm starting to think Marvel really was putting all their chips in with Joaquin Phoenix, because they're starting to name off top names and in some weird way it looks like they're scrambling to find anyone to come in immediately..
This reminds me of the Ant-Man fiasco.. Except we don't know who else is saying "no" right now.

I think MS/Disney wanted Pheonix too.....and had started to build with him in mind. Hopefully we get a casting announcement soon.

Tom Hardy is quickly becoming the go-to guy for comic book villains. The actor of course played Bane in The Dark Knight Rises and earlier this week it was reported that Hardy was among those being sought for DC’s Suicide Squad. Fox has the actor in mind for a much bigger role though, as The Wrap reports that Hardy looking at him to play En Sabah Nur, aka Apocalypse, in X-Men: Apocalypse.
Apocalypse in the comic books is the first mutant ever born. He was born in Egypt around 3,000 BC and developed a keen passion for the “survival of the fittest” philosophy, becoming a conquerer through advanced technology. He has battled the X-Men for years and has four deadly lieutenants, his Horsemen.
X-Men: Apocalypse will be directed by Bryan Singer and is expected to take place in the 1980s, focusing on the characters from X-Men: First Class who were also involved in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The film will release on May 27th, 2016.

Apocalypse/Tom Hardy? Im all for it.
However.....Apocalypse has to be armoured up for me I'm afraid. If he isn't? I will be let down.....I really will. Singers gonna have to up the ante on the scale of his action for this one too. Something I feel he IS capable of.

I like the casting news of Tom Hardy for Apocalypse. I agree though that Apocalypse should be armored up. I want him to at least have a scene or two where he is giant like he was when you fought him in X-Men vs Street Fighter.

Marvel doesn't have to cancel the Fantastic Four comic to guarantee the new Fantastic Four movie bombs at the box office.. I never really cared for the FF anyways.. So I don't care either way.
Now TOM HARDY AS APOCALYPSE.. Let's do this now. I knew he wouldn't be an armored CGI character, but these homies in Hollywood signed Josh Brolin to play a purple space master.. Start Hardy out pre armor, then throw him in a motion capture suit.. All for it.

Oh yeah I knew he wouldn't be a CGI character too(and he shouldn't be) but now that Hardy is here I want
1)Some extended scenes of him in ancient times
2)in his armoured form in modern times.
He can really deliver in this role.

Was just reading that Colin Farrell is the current guy in talks to play Dr. Strange. I really wanted it to be Johnny Depp, but with all his other movies, it's impossible. I also thought Joaquin Phoenix would have been good, but that fell through. I hope now it's either Ewan McGregor or Colin Farrell. Nothing against Jake Gyllenhall, but I don't see him as Dr. Strange. Of course, when they cast Heath Ledger as the Joker I didn't see him pulling that off, so..... what the **** do I know
