Agreed with all the sentiments around the originals sticking it out through A3.
As I've mentioned before in the old thread, we've invested too much into the original 6 to not have them be the ones to take down Thanos. Additions are welcomed but the core needs to be there.

Thanos probably won't even get defeated.. He'll probably just retreat, then show up again later.

I don't see The Avengers 3 happening without the Guardians of the Galaxy either.. Especially if Thanos is involved.. Not to mention Downey is signed on through A3.. Avengers 3 will definitely be the last outing for the original cast, and THEN I see them bringing in others.. But they'll slowly integrate the newer people in like Quicksilver, Scarlett Witch in A2, I can see Dr. Strange and Black Panther being in A3. My money is 100% on Downey, Hemsworth, Ruffalo, and Evans being in A3. Yeah, after the success of Guardians, I doubt very much that Marvel would make A3 without them.

I see Cap being instrumental in beating him.....possibly sacrificing his life to do so(or disappearing ala the Red Skull so he could return) and I think him being able to move Thor's hammer in the AOU footage is a part of this....Godammit I will cry if Cap bites the bullet in A3.

These latest rumors kind of confuse me considering as far as I know, all of the main four (especially Ruffalo) have contracts that at least go through Avengers 3. Although it's practically guaranteed that Cap, Thor, and Iron Man will be gone after A3 (even then I see Stark/Downey taking over shield when Fury is done).
The only thing that gives the rumor possibility is that the Avengers team will be HUGE by the time Avengers 3 comes.
Iron Man Thor Captain America Hulk Hawkeye Black Widow Nick Fury Scarlet Quicksilver Mrs. Marvel Black Panther Ant Man Doctor Strange
+ probably The Guardians of the Galaxy
That's a lot of paychecks to pass out and unless everyone is willing to take a pay cut I don't see them bringing everyone in.

I'd like it if the encounter with Thanos were it's own movie instead of it being Avengers 3. The title doesn't have to be "Infinity Gauntlet", but it'd be cool if it stood by itself instead of being tied to a specific franchise like Avengers or GotG.

The movie will likely set a record for being the first ever to make a *bajillion* dollars at the Box Office... They can afford to pay everyone. And most of them still aren't making major bank doing Marvel movies. Marvel's notoriously tight with it's check book, and Downey had to fight to get the payday he got. *Edit* The whole Norton dust up before Ruffalo was brought on really worked against the actors, ultimately. Marvel (and Disney) have proven that if you're not a headliner (Downey Jr., Evans, Hemsworth, in this instance) -- you're replaceable. Hell, Sam Jackson being Sam Jackson didn't get him major pay days -- it just got him a lengthy contract when the MCU first started. The rest of them (including the GotG cast) will very much all be treated the same way they continue to be: "Take what we give you, and be happy with it." -- Marvel plays no games. Hell, it took 8 movies for RDJ to hold the proverbial gun and say "Bring em back with decent pay, or I walk." -- new Phases mean new characters, new characters = new actors, new actors means pay scale starts back at the bottom.

Yeah I'm also confused about all these rumors......Evans is defo contracted through A3 so I don't get why everybody thinks he is going be offed in Cap3? I mean its all over the place. Unless he does and returns in A3 to save the day then retires as Cap?
But retiring doesn't seem like something he would do really......Hmm.

There's always flashback scenes.
Would be disappointing to not have the originals in the A3 but I loved marvel so far so see how we go.

I would be shocked not to see him in A3, but I think the *rumor* of Cap dying in CA3 was finaggled from some recent Jeremy Renner interview about Hawkeye being in CA3... you know how rumors go. I could see them including Winter Soldier in A3, honestly, and Cap dies/disappears at the end, and the movie ends with a funeral, and he picks up the shield to carry on.

I'd be fine with them going the route that Remender is doing now in the comics where Steve loses the super soldier serum.

If Cap dies it adds more impact to the Thanos storyline. And I'd love to see Bucky take over. Or Bucky could just continue being The Winter Soldier and that would be rad too.

To me the Infinity Gauntlet story is too big to cover in one movie. Maybe that's why Phase 3 is longer than the previous two?

Hopefully it is spand across Panther, Strange, etc. Is Black Panther confirmed? Not officially confirmed, the last we heard about it was Feige saying something along the lines of 'It is something we would like to do sooner rather than later'. I'm going to say Phase 4 as Phase 3 is really filling up.
