The Bendems did come out with series 1 and 2 before Jakks. Series 1 was dated 1994, though I didn't see them in the WWF merchandise catalogs until June 1995. Series 3 may have been pre-Jakks but I didn't see them in stores until July 1996, Jakks was June for me.
The Playmates were post Jakks, I'm certain. I don't recall seeing them until April 1997 and that was the smaller ones. I recall finding the larger ones around late 1997.

Like others said, the line came to an end in 1994. Same thing happened with the LJN Black card series. Both were the last in the line and available in limited production. I never saw a green card around where I was. What is interesting and what probably will never happen again, is that the Hasbro line ceased production in 1994 with the green cards, and we didn't get a new line of WWF figures until the Jakks line in 1996. Imagine waiting that long now? JusToys Bend Ems & Playmates mini & statue figures say hello. You couldn't really play with those lines like you did hasbro or jakks

You couldn't really play with those lines like you did hasbro or jakks the Bend Ems were the same scale as Hasbros and more poseable than Hasbros considering all of their limbs moved versus a stoic pose with an action feature. What are you talking about?

Those Playmates were horrible though. I remember those years, as a non-fan of Jakks, always perusing the stores and finding nothing but those two brands. I hated it! They actually looked pretty good, but I just didn't like them as toys even if I didn't really *play" with them by that point.

So, were the green cards 94' or 95'? I always thought this was wave 1 of 95' but most here seem to say 94. Borga was mentioned as being gone by the company by 95' but that never really stopped them before. Flair came out in summer of 93' even though he left in January of 93.

Christmas 94, with the series designed around February or March 94.

The green cards were very plentiful in our local hills department stores. But like the other lines, they didn't sell and were reduced.

I never saw them in stores, I bought the whole set from Figures Inc. in 95 MOC and eventually opened them to display with the rest of my set. Same thing with the yellow cards, never found them in stores in Lehigh Valley PA. I bought those from Figures Inc. too, minus Shawn and Razor as I was able to get the reissues on the blue cards.

I met a guy in a field some 15 plus years ago who told me he collected and I went round to his house after we'd finished playing football and he had the complete collection moc and he said the green card series were so rare cause during the gulf war a ship containing a load of them had been sunk. Anyone else heard this or know any truth to this? Post of the year!!! Operation Desert Storm Is the answer.

I bet Vince was like, "what the Fk have you done Sean? you knew it was photo day" except the Kid didn't do it. He had it done to him by someone ribbing him. And they did it knowing it was the day press photos were taken so the pictures would be used for a long time.

That 123 Kid is terrible but its the only hasbro I have always wanted, but never pulled the trigger on. Its going to happen one of these days.

The green cards were very plentiful in our local hills department stores. But like the other lines, they didn't sell and were reduced. I still remember going to Hills on a Friday night and seeing pegs among pegs of this series (minus Kid). I went back the next day with my friend and his family because my Ludvig had a finger was missing and all that was left was 2 Ludvig figures. Never saw them again and my friend was SOL besides a Ludvig. Man, I miss Hills.

I live in West Virginia and only ever found them at Hill's. I had them all except the 123 Kid figure, which I never saw in a store.

Does anyone know the story on why the 1-2-3 Kid was never released at retail...or Hills (the only store that carried this series)

And they did it knowing it was the day press photos were taken so the pictures would be used for a long time. I met Kid and Razor as a kid at a meet and greet and got my 1-2-3 figure autographed ... of course, I now have no idea where the figure is, lol. I remember Razor kept joking with Kid about the eyebrows when I handed it to him to autograph it ... I had no idea what they were talking about, only to find out a few years ago about that story. Too funny. In another thread I discussed my adventure finding the green card set ... long story short, as an 11-year-old kid I got a Hills employee to grab a case out of the back for my friend and I ... I tried then to grab more than one Kid and the employee wouldn't let me, lol. "Don't get greedy!" Haha. My friend and I each got full sets and opened them up as soon as we got home. Remember it like it was yesterday. Good times. My dad bought two more 1-2-3 Kids at Hills (Man, I miss Hills stores! ) along with two Blue Card Shawn Michaels repaints (remember how those blue cards were everywhere? Now they're pretty rare) and we can't find those either, lol. All that effort into finding a few rare figures that we got right and they'll probably never be found, haha. Mark EDIT: I found the photo of me with Razor and Kid, you can see him autographing the figure and they're both smiling about the eyebrow comment Razor made, lol. (And, yes, I still have that shirt with the giant face of Razor on the front of it!)
