There were supposed to be post credits with The Collector? I saw it in IMAX and the post credits I got were baby groot dancing with drax sharpening a knife and then the real credits started and the lights started to come on. Did anyone else get that?

Did you leave during the credits? That's what it sounds like by your post ("and then the real credits started")

Did you leave during the credits? That's what it sounds like by your post ("and then the real credits started") They play those credits like most marvel movies do and then the post credits scene will come on followed by the actual scrolling credits that play. After the baby groot scene they started playing the actual scrolling credits and the lights came on

What you saw was a mid credits scene. Post credit scenes are after the scrolling credits and yes, the lights will be on in the theater. There was a post credits scene much like every other Marvel movie.

Dancing Groot was the mid credits scene.
The Collector was after the credits were finished.
I saw in in 3D and a second time in IMAX, both times had both scenes.

You didn't really miss anything important, it was just a one off thing that the director wanted to add in.

Yeah, you just didn't stay long enough. The scene is pretty geek centric and it really appeals to an older demographic, so 80's babies and older. The easter egg is pretty cool, but again, geek centric imo. I know a lot of fans were disappointed but I laughed liked an idiot.

There were actually 2 in the scene with the Collector.

Every time I saw post credit scenes it was before the scrolling credits most of the amazing x men movie post credits are after the scrolling credits. Its a long wait for a 15-30 sec scene but it is usually its worth it

You missed the post-credit scene... but you didn't miss anything important.
