Last night, my fiance took me to the 30th anniversary re-release of Ghostbusters. It's my favorite movie. I was four years old in 1984, so I never saw it in the theater until now. I have to say, I enjoyed watching something I knew I enjoyed in its original quality, over something that gets rebooted once a decade.

Nice! There's a movie theater near me that's showing it too, & I've thought about going too.

I forgot they were doing this.
I want to go (born in 88, so it was before my time, theatrically) -- damn, moments like these wish my mom was still alive, I know she'd love a chance to get to see it on the big screen with me.
I may go tomorrow, unless I know it's playing Tuesday (cheaper tix day) -- in which case I'll wait til then cause I could convince my dad to go with, that way.

I was just talking with a friend about this on FB...
Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Jurassic Park, Wizard of Oz (soon Ghostbusters) -- have all been awesome to see in theaters...
Hopefully Back to the Future, Terminator 2, and Aladdin get the treatment soon, as well.

I caught this during its 25th anniversary, which was really cool. Not sure if I will make it this week but I love seeing theaters do this.
What I really wish I would have been able to go to was the Raiders of the Lost Ark IMAX showing down the street from my home a few years back. That would have been awesome.

Ghostbusters is just SUCH a classic......I love it so much

Seeing Ghostbusters in the theater is totally worth the price of admission, it has a really cool vibe to it.

What I really wish I would have been able to go to was the Raiders of the Lost Ark IMAX showing down the street from my home a few years back. That would have been awesome. Indy is my favorite franchise ever. I did the IMAX showing of Raiders two years ago and it was everything I hoped it would be. I will say the IMAX wasn't sensational, as it felt like more of an IMAX stretch job but getting to see Raiders in the theater like that was worth every penny. I only saw Last Crusade in theaters for the original releases but getting to see Raiders in IMAX made me feel about 6 years old all over again. I might check out Ghostbusters. I didn't even realize they were doing this but it's completely awesome. It plays today near me at 4:45, so I may try and sneak out early and go see it.
