I was reminiscing about Cesaro post-Wrestlemania, mostly about his alliance with Paul Heyman. Now the bulk of the forum (from what I've seen, plus myself) believes Cesaro should have sprung out of 'Mania as a white-hot face and beaten Swagger at ER, setting up a summer push. A lot of people also agree he needed a mouthpiece and Heyman was his guy. My question to you is:
Would having Heyman be Cesaro's mouthpiece work if they ran as faces?
I would doubt that Heyman wouldn't be able to convince the fans that he's righteous and a good guy, but I'd be afraid the fans can't get past the "one behind the one in 21-1" and would be booed instead of cheered. Although I can't think of any examples off the top of my head, I'm sure it's not unheard of a manager working as both a heel and face. Would it be effective? Would Cesaro be better off?

I think Cesaro would've been better off on his own as a face. I also think he should've won the US title in that Battle Royal and feuded with a heel Sheamus.

Paul Heyman CAN'T be a face, and as the white hot fave Cesaro was, he didn't need a manager.

Face Cesaro would have been great coming off of that battle royal. He should have won the IC title and had a long run putting on incredible matches. No mouthpiece needed. I love Heyman but he did zero for Cesaro by constantly talking about an off-tv Brock all the time.

It would've diminished the streak ending if Heyman didn't always go on about it. Either way, mouthpiece or no mouthpiece, face or heel, we'd still have reached the point six months later where Cesaro's lack of personality and inability to cut good promos had killed interest in him. The guy seems quite charismatic and interesting outside of the ring, when he does appearances like the 2K15 panel, but for some reason he just completely fails to project any charisma on wrestling TV. It's weird, like how Brie Bella's acting on Total Divas is natural and believable, but her acting on Raw is at this sucky overblown school play level.

Yeah they ed that whole thing up in a bad way. One of the worst butchering of a potential storyline in years. That moment with Cesaro lifting at the Giant over his head with a mass of fans leaping to their feet behind him will forever be etched into my brain. It's so weird. It's like mania 30 was a one off for us. Where everything was surreal and awesome. And then they just went back to the norm.

I don't think Paul was the way to go, and Zeb just fits better with Swagger, so him picking Cesaro over Swagger wouldn't make sense..... It's too bad there is a general lack on managerial talent.
I wish he'd get his first name back and be allowed to do the swing again.

Antonio is great, but great isn't enough sadly, and that's why he will never get a decent push again.

I think Cesaro makes a better heel than a face . He plays the antiAmerican so well, he can rub it in our faces on how fat this country is haha Hell he did it in his US champion run . Paul stepping in the picture, I thought that'd work but something wasn't connecting. Maybe because he kept reminding us weekly about Brock ending the streak , and the matches they were booking him. They should've got him chasing the intercontinental title after Mania.

Antonio is great, but great isn't enough sadly, and that's why he will never get a decent push again. Exactly. Much better candidates out there for a push over him. He'd have been hot for a bit but it would have died down when the novelty of the swing wore off.

He is good but he cannot talk on the mic and that is his main downfall and possibly the reason why he was paired with Heyman in the first place.

The consensus seems to be face Cesaro with no Heyman. Fair enough.
Personally, if WWE had gone down that route I'd have Cesaro go over Swagger at ER, then enter a strong feud with Bad News Barrett. Barrett wins at Payback, Cesaro wins the belt in a Street Fight at MiTB.

Heyman and Cesaro would have worked if they didn't start having Cesaro lose all the time.
There's only so much hype you can do for a guy who loses

Nope, Heyman works best as a heel. It didn't work because the crowd would cheer for Ceasro, but boo Heyman. Cesaro should have been either, or. A combination killed the experiment.

It could have worked so well so damn well had they just done it right 1) don't have cesaro lose all the time have him win some lose some 2) take away the swing from him at heymans advice because "these people don't deserve to see the swing, they'll see the swing when Paul heyman says they can see the swing" 3) have heyman go on about being the one behind the one behind 21-1 4) have cesaro slowly get frustrated with heyman 5) Cesaro goes on short losing streak 6) Heyman continues to put over Lesnar but says next to nothing for cesaro 7) cesaro snaps on heyman 8)Swing Heyman cesaro is over as and has that red hot momentum again while still trying the expirement with heyman
