The Tales from the Darkside episode called A Case of the Stubborns. I could not stand seeing Eddie Bracken in anything after that.

Not a tv show, but the original Resident Evil games literally messed me up for years.
The scenes from Ghost where the guys got drug to Hell were pretty traumatic too.

God Courage was scary back then. But nothing beats "Are You Afraid of the Dark" in my opinion. That was a kids show intro? I would have crap myself if I seen that as a young child and even at 15 I still got goosebumps..

I'm not afraid to admit the Goosebumps dog creeped me out when I was little. The show itself never actually bothered me though. Just the dog for some reason. It was always the woman on the billboard that scared me the most.. and the mummy

The classic Simpsons episode where Grampa's retirement home girlfriend died while he was forced to go on a safari with Homer & family had me scared of death for a long while.
In hindsight, the misogyny and sex in Married... with Children probably wasn't the best choice of after school programming for a 5 year old.

The Crypt Keeper. When he popped out of a crypt combined with his laugh.... Literally have me nightmares for like 3 years. I had a ritual growing up.... Saturday night...I'd be in my parents' den with all the lights off & watch Tales From the Crypt by myself I was terrified & would have the finger on the remote for something too scary, but I really loved it It didn't scar my childhood, but it was an enjoyable fear that especially at exactly midnight...things would get crazy. I'd look over my shoulder about every 30 seconds too. ** some movies made a bigger impact than tv really Never Ending Story, Return to Oz, Jaws 1 - 4, etc. were all pretty terrifying or shocking in parts

As stated by other members Courage the Cowardly dog really scared my childhood. Also a bunch of horror movies I think I had seen all the Friday the 13th movies by the time I was 5. But the worst of all time wasn't a Tv Show or movie it was those horrid Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark books, I still see those images when I close my eyes.

For some reason, I still remember this scaring the crap out of my 8-year-old self. (From CSI)

X-Files by far, as a young kid watching TV shows about people being snatched by invisible people, fire people with no eyes, aliens, etc.... was petrifying especially since I'd watch it and then go to sleep right after.

Well, when I was a little whippersnapper in the 80's.. I loved horror.. sure it scared me but i still watched it.. I was allowed to watch TV edits of horror movies.
but at 11PM on one of my local affiliates for channel 11, thy had an hour block of the Twillight zone and tales from the darkside..
first up... the sounds and music creeped me out.. and the faces the logo turned into at the 32 - 25 second marks, oh and the hertbeat at the end!!!!
but man that was nothing compared to Tales from the Darkside..the music was the most creepiest thing EVER. the trees from 29 - 41.. SCARED the POODOO out of me! I would stare into the trees waiting to see some evil monster to jump out and get me.. just everything about the intro spooked me so much as a kid.. but i watches it every weekend..

Not a TV Show, but I do recall I little movie by the name of Meet The Feebles. My mom rented it thinking it would be a "funny puppet movie" Watching a movie with a bunny orgy is not something a 7 year old should see
