So from reading threads and comments over the past two weeks I've seen more and more people unhappy with the overall quality of new figures they have been buying.
So I thought why not have a thread where people voice their concerns on specific issues on figures so if something like this could be pinned or stickied it could be benefitial to everyone instead of posting individual threads.
People are noticing the figures increasing in price but that the overall quality dropping which to me is a flawed logic. I myself have been lucky and none of the figures I've bought from RSC have been anything short of perfect. But I have noticed bad paint smudging on figures sold at mass retailers in my country and have had to return two new elites with receipts because of loose joints that were so loose the figures wouldn't stand without falling over.
So my reckoning is that while there are more figures than ever being made and released at such a rate that the quality is dropping in painting and putting together figure parts. My years of collecting I've never seen so many figures released and think its a great time for collectors with so much variety on the market and figures have never looked better.
This thread was created not as a personal attack on Mattel, Ringside or any other company merely more of a place for buyers to voice their issues and concerns with other collectors

My last 2 figures (LOD Animal and Vader both looked awful. Vaders mask had a big black smudge on it (where the "V" should have been) and animal had what looked like brown goo on his ab crunch.
I've never had problems before but these recent ones were very disappointing, especially since both figures are so great.

I would much rather have figures released at a slower pace but with no paint mishaps than have figures released rapidly but be covered in smudges.

Smudges have become a problem for me. Purchasing online has become more risky because of it.
Overall, I'm very happy with the overall quality Mattel has put into their WWE figures.

I haven't had any problems at all aside from the very rare (in my case) paint smudge or two.

I would like to see less smudges and less bent packaging but Mattel would probably find a way to pass along the costs for those improvements to the consumer but overall I'm happy at this point.

I'd be pretty much on a par with you overall I'm happy with the figures but the smudging is starting to become the major issue for people. The packaging however is a different kettle of fish and more or less falls down to the company transporting it or the stores that are stocking it. This is more a transit issue rather than the overall quality of the figure

Mattel's QC has become worse over the years. It could/should be much better, for the price we are paying on their product!

You can literally feel the plastic that the figures are made out of has gotten considerably cheaper. Way more errors and breaks. It's a shame. You'd think with more popularity would come higher budgets.

I started collecting recently and I have bought new from retail and some old off ebay. The older ones are easier to stand up and are more sturdy. I feel the budget has gone down, it doesn't make sense either as they keep raising the prices.

Yes the paint smudges are getting annoying!!! I also noticed that there were dried up super glue on the bottom of the BP USOs surf board near the little things that poke out.

That sucks about Animal but I haven't really seen any difference in them. Other than the two B2 Kozlovs and 1 DM Macho Man I've not has any issues.
