Source: Wrestling IncAs noted earlier, Supertraining Gym in Sacramento posted a video last month (which has since been removed) of John Cena training with Mark Bell. During the video, Cena was asked about turning heel and he made it clear that it's not happening. "[It will] never happen," Cena said. "Oh I've got it in me for sure... I do what they tell me, boss." Dave Meltzer reported in a recent issue of The Wrestling Observer that with the absence of Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, Cena's merchandise recently - and may still - be outselling the rest of the roster combined. He also noted that live events with John Cena appearing average more than $60,000 than non-Cena shows. He also pointed out that shows without Cena in cities that they have run before do lower than usual business, while events with Cena do not.

John Cena is their top guy, without a doubt. I certainly see why Vince may be so turned off by the idea of him going heel. But, in my opinion, they need to pass the torch. He can't be the top guy forever. Once they do that, they need to turn him heel, as their would be no point in keeping his character stale if he isn't the face of the company.
Look at a similar situation with Hulk Hogan. They never had him pass the torch. when he left, there was a big decline in buisness on all ends.

This is pretty much common knowledge. John Cena makes money.

I'm changed on Cena. I definitely no longer consider myself a hater. I've been rooting for him in this feud with Brock purely from a fan standpoint and not even thinking about booking. His promo last week amped me up.
That being said a heel run could be interesting

I wouldn't say I'm a Cena Hater, because I know the guy can deliver in the ring and on promos, I just HATE how he's booked. Cena is money though.

I just don't understand why he doesn't lose a lot and why he's always near the or the focus of the show.
Its just so confusing, I don't get it.

The only way Cena should turn heel, is if someone outsells him in merchandise for a long period of time, not a month or two like CM Punk did back in 2011. Until we see someone outsell him in that area, Cena will be the number one guy for a longer period of time. He's still got a few more years. I'd honestly like him to feud with others while not being in the title period, ala Hogan feuding with guys like Earthquake when Warrior was the World Champion in 1990. Even if Cena wins all the feuds (or how most of the people on here like to say, bury the guys he feuds with), as long as the feud is good. I don't mind Cena as much as I did years ago. I mind that he's in the title picture right now, but with Punk gone and Bryan injured and building Reigns as a top guy, they really don't have a lot of choices. The last time I rooted for Cena to win the title was at TLC 2013 when he cut that promo on Orton on the RAW before TLC and I loved that promo and it made me want to root for Cena. Hopefully after Cena is done with Lesnar, he can go on to feud with someone like Seth Rollins (even though I hate the idea that he might be a future World Champion).

If he turned heel it would be a week before people said he was stale as a heel and should be a face again. The guy he earned his stay and is reliable, how anyone can say he doesn't I will never know.
I like Cena as he is and he is very entertaining, just butt hurt ROH fans think he squashes everyone ever and ruins everything when that obviously isn't the case.

What could he do to turn heel? Kill Daniel Bryan... literally, in the middle of the ring. That would probably do it. Problem with Cena turning Heel is that all of the stupid people that boo him now will start cheering for him -_-

With people like Lesnar, Hogan, Jericho, HHH, Orton, Reigns , Ambrose, Wyatt's , Usos , Swagger, etc with merchandise on the stands . I highly highly doubt that Cena is outselling everyone combined. That just sounds ridiculous and made up. He isn't some sort of cash cow. It's not like WWE is in the best financial place it's ever been because of Cena . They aren't Breaking records and whatnot. They've been plateaued for years and years. Pretty much this entire Cena era. Turn him ing heel already. He will be cheered a lot more and probably sell just as much merchandise as some sort of anti hero.

What could he do to turn heel? I think he would literally have to storm into the crowd and hit the AA to whole row of Make-A-Wish kids in wheelchairs with IVs still stuck in their arms. I think the biggest problem with turning Cena heel is that the only thing to change would be the low pitched voices would be chanting "Lets Go Cena" and the high pitched voices would be chanting "Cena sucks".

What could he do to turn heel? Anything honestly. I mean just think he's in the ring tagging with reigns or Bryan or having a segment with hogan and boom out of nowhere lays them out. The chorus of boos and reaction would be phenomenal. But it's at the point where if he does turn. I think it has to happen at the end of a Mania like Austin did. Let's say Bryan returns wins the rumble faces Brock at mania for the belt Cena comes out and turns on Bryan and aligns himself with Lesnar and Heyman. "If you can't beat em, join em, y'all been booing me for years isnt this what you wanted? "

With people like Lesnar, Hogan, Jericho, HHH, Orton, Reigns , Ambrose, Wyatt's , Usos , Swagger, etc with merchandise on the stands . I highly highly doubt that Cena is outselling everyone combined. You can highly doubt it from blind Cena hatred, but that doesn't make it any less true. I've no idea why you've included Swagger in that list, his shirts have been selling poorly (well the black one at least, the blue might be doing better). Cena might not be outselling everyone including Hogan combined, but he was definitely outselling everyone on the active roster combined -- that info is several weeks old though and may be from the point before the Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose individual merch launched. Cena's single-handed merchandise dominance is due to the previous #2 sellers Punk and Bryan being off TV. Yes he is. As much as you may like to imagine that Cena doesn't make the company lots of money, he does. Much more than anyone else they have. None of that is true. The company is losing money right now because of the network, but before they started spending money on the network in 2011, they were in an incredibly solid place financially. For the last several years, Cena has been getting them sponsorship deals and partnerships that they'd never have gotten without him. And they have indeed broken records over the last decade. Greatest-grossing live event they've ever done, WrestleMania 29. And WrestleManias 21, 23 and 28 all broke company PPV buy records. WrestleMania 30 was technically the most-bought/most-watched WrestleMania, too. If you think the purpose for turning someone heel is "he will be cheered a lot more" then you probably shouldn't be making the calls on the heel turns.
