I liked Hideo Itami's debut match with Justin Gabriel. I wonder if he's going to get a partner to feud with the Ascension or if in the end he faces both of them in single matches.

Your definition of smart business sense is almost exactly the same as my definition of greed. I'll just stop you there. Because you're right. Greed = trying to make as much money (in this case) as possible Smart business sense = trying to make as much money as possible. End of story. WWE has no moral need to help out indie companies like ROH. If those companies want to run shows, they can go just outside the non-compete territory, and if fans REALLY want to go see them, they still can. WWE does not and should not care whether ROH succeeds or fails when they are trying to take WWE's business from them. I actually agree with this. If people really, but REALLY wanted to go to one of those indy events even if WWE blocked those companies from doing events near where Wrestlemania is at, the fans will go out of their way to go. Honestly, I would still go to one of those indy events even if it's miles away or further away from Wrestlemania cause maybe I would like to go to an indy event that weekend and watch something that's not WWE related. I don't find this as a bad thing. WWE wants as much money as possible that weekend and since Wrestlemania does bring into whatever state their in money for their economy, that city/state will go with what WWE requests.

I will never understand why the WWE feels compelled to change the names of wrestlers who have earned a reputation already. I get that there are copyright and money issues behind it but that is just greed by the WWE. The WWE also has a philosophy that they don't import stars; they make them and that is just ego. So because of WWE's greed and ego we have to deal with a continuing line of renamed wrestlers who don't deserve the usually stupider WWE name they get stuck with. I'm not looking forward to the debuts of Steven Keen and Dunce Previtt. I hope fans chant Kenta every time he appears until WWE has to acknowledge the name he built his reputation with. KENTA picked the name, the WWE has acknowledged his reputation and to continue chanting KENTA would be disrespectful to the man. If you are a fan of his, you'll embrace the change like he has and otherwise you just really aren't a fan of his. Aaaaaanywhom I've heard that it is in fact a tribute to Hideo Nomo, the baseball player.

How do you know KENTA didn't have the idea to change his name? I'm sure it was his great idea to throw away the name that he's made for himself over the last few years. Sounds like a great idea. Oh, and I'm sure he loves the horrible Japanese like name, God forbid he get a name that doesn't sound like he's Japanese.

His idol is Kenta Kobashi that is why he had his ring name KENTA Uh...no. His real name is Kenta Kobayashi, but to avoid confusion between him and Kobashi, he chanted his ring name to KENTA.

I think that a wrestler's name change is a bigger deal to some fans than it is to the guy himself.

Yeah, the name change I guess has to do with Hideo being some baseball player and Itami is a character I guess in Naruto? I don't believe that's the case. Those are just coincidences.

Dirt sheets said that the name is based from Hideo Nomo (baseball pitcher) and Itami (Naruto character)...therefore, it must be true. lol I hope it's something he addresses personally sometime in the future.

I think that a wrestler's name change is a bigger deal to some fans than it is to the guy himself. To be fair, it's a bit jarring to go from calling the guy KENTA for over a decade now to calling him "Hideo Itami". I still refer to Cesaro as "Claudio" and Bryan as "Danielson" just because I've called them that for over a decade now. Force of habit, I guess. I don't get why some people poop themselves over it, it's not that big of a deal.

What about Borden Stevenson, Worlds Oldest Rookie? But yeah, sometime around 2009, the WWE didnt like how people like Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley and Stacy Keibler had success outside wrestling using their wrestling names (which are also their real names) and thats why everybody is given a random-generated NXT name now.
