I've spoken to numerous employees and managers and they say that they don't know what is going to be on their trucks until they arrive. I have been able to find out that all Walgreens (in my area at least) get their new shipments in on Tuesday nights. So early Wednesday morning is the best time to find new items. I'm gonna call today and ask about the manager placing an order. If that's something that they can do, I will be very excited. Did it work? No. The manager said the same thing as the shift manager. They have already gotten them in and they don't expect anymore, but he would be glad to add my name to a waiting list.

Sorry. At least they are expecting quite a few in Nov. if that report in the SW thread is correct.

I've been stopping in at my local Walgreens everyday for the past two weeks or so in hopes of finding a Proto Boba. This morning when I stopped in, I asked the shift manager when they would be getting them in. I've spoken to this particular shift manager multiple times over the past two weeks. She tells me that they received two Bobas about a week ago and put them out at midnight. The Bobas were sold as soon as they were put on the shelf (no surprise). She then told me that they will not be receiving anymore Bobas, at all. I am so frustrated with this! First, you received them a week ago and let me continue to wander in everyday knowing that you weren't going to get anymore in? That's a crapty thing to do. Why not tell me this in the multiple exchanges we've had over the last week. She also took down my name and phone number and promised to call as soon as they came in because I had been, "so diligently looking for him." I did not ask her to take down my info, she did this on her own. I would never dream of asking a national retail store to hold something for me because most of the time they won't do it. But don't offer and then not follow through. The second thing that really frustrates me is I live in a town of 50,000 people. We're a decent sized city. You're telling me that for 50,000 people, you're only going to offer 2 figures total? Come on! That's insanity! I'm not expecting them to get some insane number of Bobas like 100 or something, but at least get enough to cover a display. Even one of the little end of the isle displays that are on the side of the end cap. Give people a fighting chance at getting the figures. I'm gonna go to Walgreens in surrounding towns today in hopes of finding something. I really don't want to be stuck paying inflated eBay prices because Walgreens isn't prepared to handle an exclusive and its customer base. Ugh! I'm so annoyed. Is anyone else having this problem with Walgreens? I worked retail, I would see the same people in the store regularly, that doesnt mean I would memorize what everyone wanted. So it's possible this manager saw you but forgot the reason you were checking in so often. Remember the employees main job is to work for the store, so what ever the store needs is the first thing on that persons mind, your wanting a figure is secondary so it's possible she forgot because she was busy with other things. Also your town of 50,000 people got two figures, that you know of. It's possible they got more in before you started looking. It's possible they got more in, that the manager you spoke to did not know of. I live in Chicago, there are millions of people living in this city, yet there is only 1 Toys R Us in the entire city and only 2 Walmarts. So a toy company packs 1 of a figure per case or 1 per every two cases I call that insane. Your 50k population is a much better chance for you to find what you want. There have been times when I went to the stores every day and never found what I wanted (WWE Yokozuna, Greenlight's Chicago PD Monaco, M2's fathers day auto Haulers, the Auto World Coupe De Ville and so on). There will always be something you'll want yet never find at retail. Hotwheels packs a T hunt in just about every case, yet I've enver once found a T hunt on pegs. I feel it's because there are people who stake out stores, waiting to get the fresh case of Hotwheels so that they may cherry pick what they want. I know this because I've seen them. I was at a Walmart late night once, I walked over to the toy isles and I saw they were restocking. There was 3 older gentlemen in the isle waiting. All talking about the new L case of Hotwheels, so obviously they knew what was in the case. It's people like this that prob beat you to your Boba. Good Luck Hunting.

I'll usually find out what the Thunt was after the case comes out when I see it online.

I find them when I happen to be at the right place at the right timing

I've been to a fair number of conventions- toy and comic- this fall and no one is asking more than thirty for prototype Boba Fett. Scalpers are sucking the fun out of this for literally peanuts.
Let us see: Boba Fett after tax is $21.34. Factor in gas finding him. Factor in gas loading him in a van and travelling to a show. Factor in the cost of having tables or a booth at said show. You may have potentially lost money on it if you didn't do well at the show. And was it really worth it? bungholes.

I remember seeing Darth, Chewbacca, Luke, etc. when they were first starting to hit, but given the $20 price tag, I figured I would let someone at 'em. I don't really understand cleaning out a toy section when the ceiling on the returns is maybe five or six bucks a piece.

After the second week these figures were out, I "panicked" and bought a white Boba from ebay. Even then it was only $30 shipped. I think ebay & paypal take about 13% in fees. Add $5 to $6 for shipping. The seller barely made a finder's fee. By early November my two local Walgreens had a dozen Boba Fetts between them.
