I walked into a local thrift store today and couldn't believe my eyes: $5.00 I was so excited, I NEVER have this kind of luck. My question is this: I am dying to open this. But the collector inside me screams whenever I pick it up. Do you guys open your rare figs? Does it depend on how much you spent?

I open them, but I get why you are conflicted. Although the way I'd look at is "hey I only spent $5" then crack em.

I haven't opened my road warrior hawk and legends 4 warrior , but because they look sweet in the package. I know I'll eventually open them, so imo enjoy that well spent 5 bucks. Steal of a deal.

Like it was already said. No mass produced wrestling figure is rare. Open it!

Well, seeing there's no "rare" mass produced figures yes. If there was a figure I really liked that I wanted to keep MOC/MIB I would just buy a second. Anyway nice find. That is actually my favorite Macho Man.

Open it up. It isnt that rare, it goes for about 10 or so more than it retailed for. Great deal on that one though thats dirt cheap.

The collector in me collects the figures because I like them, not to resell later, so I open them. I don't collect MOC (don't have the room to display them). If you're an MOC collector, you wouldn't be dying to open it. So open it.

Depends - if you want to display it with it's unique packaging - that would probably be pretty cool....
However - if you're just going to store it in a cardboard box or something - you might as well just open it (you didn't pay that much for it anyway).
Depends what kind of colletor you are!

I opened my 1/100 Jimmy Hart and 1/100 Sunny (Jakks CS).
If you're never planning on selling them, then who cares?

The word "rare" is more of a subjective term nowadays IMO. I would open it if that's what you're wanting to do. Its your dime here, do what you wanna with it man.

Even if they're mass produced, some haven't been in many years. Personally, I'd consider something like RSC Exclusive SES CM Punk rare. It took me weeks to find it for a decent price.

Sounds to me like you want to open it. The set isn't rare, it'a just hard to find because people are hanging on to all of theirs. When the line is old hat more of these will flood into the market.
I'd be glad I got one for so cheap. We all agree that was a great deal!

I open everything. What's the point of keeping them in the package when everyone else does? My son has that same set and it's great. Elbow off the top rope for Morrison!
