This is an idea Jim Ross brought up on his podcast a few episodes ago. He was talking about the importance of the lower card Titles and how they can be elevated to what they once were. One example he gave regarding the Intercontinental Title was that back in he 80s, if you had Hogan carrying the WWE Title, Randy Savage might be carrying the IC Title, and it would not have been out of place or even given a second thought if the main event of your show featured Savage defending his IC Title as the #2 guy in the company.
He compared it to the current day product, where a guy like Dolph Ziggler might be a great entertainer and people love him, but he's not your #2 guy in the company. He said if nowadays if you did in fact put the IC Title on your #2 guy, be it Cena or Orton right now (since Lesnar is World Champion) everyone would look at it as being a step down for them. "Orton is the IC Champion? Who did he piss off?"
JR's idea of putting NXT Title matches on PPV cards is one I would love to see. It makes fans pay attention to the NXT Title scene and shows you that they are right there with the big boys of WWE, even if the graphic displaying their name doesn't say it yet. It builds credibility for the brand and the Title.
I'm for it, and I'm for the IC Title getting a boost as well.
Throw the US Title in the garbage because its meaningless. (By garbage I mean HOF or something, just being dramatic.)

The casual audience would have no idea who they were, so no, I'd say that wouldn't work.

I'm okay with this.

I vote yes.
Just throw them on the preshow and I'll be happy. These preshows suck as it is and they do nothing but stall for time until the scheduled match. Might as well let a couple NXT guys cut promos and then have a match.

The casual audience would have no idea who they were, so no, I'd say that wouldn't work. The casual audience gave the NXT tag match on RAW a few weeks ago the best reaction of the night. So I think you're wrong there. But, Devil's advocate, let's say you're right. People might say "hey who are these guys?" They go on to have a good match, the fans see a belt, and they think "woah that was a good match, and he's got a belt. Who is he? He had a cool finisher." I honestly think there's bo chance it could fail.

I'd love to see it, but I think it depends on where the PPV is. A place like Chicago or New York is going to give them a fantastic reaction. If they're in a venue with a usually deadish crowd, it might not help them too much.

I don't know if it should be defended at every PPV, but I'm very ok with it being defended at the big 4 PPV's.

I'll be OK with it, but I'd honestly prefer the NXT Title to stay defended on NXT instead of defending it every once and a while on PPV. I get why people would want it though.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm actually not a fan of this idea.
WWE's titles are already meaningless enough as it is. They struggled to find worthwhile feuds for just about everything but the Heavyweight championship, and even that is often times an afterthought. I don't think that adding another one into the mix would do anyone any favors, even if you drop the US Title.
It also blurs the line drawn between WWE and NXT significantly. WWE moved away from the brand split for a very distinct reason. Moving title matches from NXT onto Pay-Per-Views makes the promotion less like a developmental territory and more like a secondary brand. I'm all for NXT guys working in front of large WWE audiences to gain experience, but I don't believe it should be on television.
To me, it also devalues the call up system. Sure, we're able to go onto the WWE Network and see these future stars on a weekly basis, but they're still segregated and separate from the main roster. If I can just, say, watch Sami Zayn every month on Pay-Per-View, it lessens my excitement to see him be called up and become a full time staple of the roster.

I was just thinking, maybe instead of bringing one guy from NXT to go in the Royal Rumble, why not just have an NXT Title match on the kickoff? This would be the only time I would accept the NXT Title being defended on PPV.

I would not mind because NXT is pretty awesome.
Having the potential to have three more solid title matches is always a plus for me.

I say no just for the simple fact that I don't think the main audience should be exposed to them too much before they debut.

I think one match for hell in a cell should be a match where Adrian Neville Sami zany Tyson Kidd and Tyler breeze and whoever wins gets a contract to raw or smackdown

Sometimes they have talent change names/gimmicks between leaving NXT and debuting on the main roster right?
I guess that would be sorta hard to explain...
