what I thought was really funny one day was, when people brought in their cars to get worked on, they would say "it stalls at times" we would say "does it stall all the time or just sometimes?" (its harder to find the problem if it doesn't stall all the time and for us)then they would say "yes it doose it right now" instead of saying "does" they said "doose" like wtf? we asked them, "doose? do you mean does?" they said "yes it doose it all the time"
lets just say we had to good time after the convo. it was the funniest thing I have ever heard. and ironically, this was right before when Jay Z sang his song for The Rock because one of the lyrics say "doose it"

When people write "could of" instead of "could have". Or one I read a few days ago. This kid wrote "Comic book shops is my R. Kelly's heel" It took me a bit to figure out he meant to write "Achille's heel".

You live in Boston and the thing that offends you most is what amounts to a slurred phrasing? I applaud your tolerance, good sir. Oh. If I got into detail about what offends me the most around here. I certainly wouldn't be a member on these boards for too long after.

I've never heard of this phrase and I would never say it or type it..

I guess I've heard it, but I don't think it's so much people think it's how the phrase is said so much as it is that penchant for people in the northeast to slur and shorten everything we say until we sound like Kevin Malone describing how he talks to his mechanic.
I mean, we're talking the same people who "go down the Cape" for vacation.

Only thing I hate the most is "Can I axe you a question?" My Oral Communications professor made sure the entire class got it right. The way people pronounce words is based on the language and the region where their from. I hear it all the time in New York City.

I just saw someone on Twitter say "good riddens" instead of correctly saying "good riddance".

I just saw someone on Twitter say "good riddens" instead of correctly saying "good riddance". That's a pretty common MISTEAK...lol. Get it? I have a family member that can't say certain words/phrases properly, but she has tried & I just have to let it go. ex. Whataburger as Waterburger ex. Frappe as Crappe, crappuccino But hey, I use to spell grateful as greatful... I once laughed at someone that wrote "I hope you like HOUR' - then they tried to fix it and changed it to "I hope you like ARE".....I pretty much lost it lol.

I've never heard that phrase. But what came to mind for me is my parents and things they say wrong. I've tried to correct them and just have given up.
Examples:
Instead of typing the word Mind, my dad will type Mine. They pronounce tour as tur They add an S to things. Like instead of Ihop they call it Ihop's Instead of saying idea, they say ideal.

I know someone that can't say famous names correctly for some reason. Liam Neesan is Ian Nelson, Ewan McGregor is Ian McGregor (got a thing for Ians) and Michael Jai White is Jamal White. There are many more but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head.
He can read the name and you can say the name to him correctly over and over and it just doesn't click in his brain enough for him to even try to say them differently.

"Expecially" instead of especially. "Expresso" instead of espresso. "Defiantly" instead of definitely.
